_Painter p.o.v_

"Our next match is Emily against Painter,"Marisa said. I walked onto the field, Sableye on my shoulders. "Looks like we have another pokemon person. I wonder what he has up his sleeve."

Emily smiled. "You ready?"

"We are. You?"

She pulled out two pokeballs. "Of course. Mawile, Blaziken, let's go!" She threw her pokeballs, and out came the mawile that had hid behind us along with a blaziken, which sparkled as it exited the pokeball. Its body was dark red, and its hair was white. It was a shiny pokemon.

"This'll be a good battle," Marisa said. "That duo has gone undefeated so far. Can Painter and Sableye pull this off?"

"This'll be interesting," I said. "You may have the first move."

"Good. Blaziken, double team!" Blaziken split into a bunch of copies of itself, shielding mawile from view."

I formed draco meteor in my hands and shot it into the air. It broke into the multiple meteors, and rained down on the copies. They all broke, revealing the real one and Mawile.

"Well that didn't work," Emily sighed. "Mawile, use sunny day!"

Mawile shot an orb of energy into the sky, and the sunlight turned bright. "That's not good," I said. "Sableye, use captivate."

Sableye sat down and acted cute, sending multiple hearts at them. They made contact, and you could tell that Emily's pokemon didn't really want to attack.

"Smart move, but it won't save you. Mawile, protect."

Mawile became surrounded in a green forcefield. "Now, Blaziken, use solar beam, full power!"

Blaziken hopped onto the top of the forcefield, a yellow orb of energy forming between its hands. It was getting bigger and bigger. I didn't have time to sketch protect. We would have to take the hit.

I grabbed Sableye, and when Blaziken released the attack, I threw him as high into the air as I could. The attack hit me, sending me skidding back. If that was how strong it was after being hit by captivate, I didn't even want to think about it really being at full power.

I didn't have a lot of energy left. "Now's our chance," Emily said. "Blaziken, use double kick!"

Blaziken jumped up, and was about to come down on me when Sableye landed. He held his hands out, and grabbed Blaziken's foot. Blaziken's eyes widened in surprise, and then he fell over from being off balance.

"What a move!" Marisa said. "Double kick has no effect on Sableye! But can they pull off a win?"

"I got this, Painter," he said. He faced his opponents. Mawile was tired after that protect, and Blaziken had retreated as well. Sableye's gem eyes flashed pink, and waves of red energy started radiating from him. Mawile was hurt, but not as much as Blaziken. Blaziken looked like he was in pure agony. This must be night shade.

I got to my feet. Sableye stopped attacking. "Um," Emily said, "Blaziken, try a focus blast."

I was prepared this time. I grabbed my tail. "Sableye, wait for my command, then destroy it." He nodded. Blaziken threw the sphere of energy, and I pointed my tail at it, its tip glowing white. "Now!"

Sableye jumped in the path of the attack and scratched at it, causing it to explode. He fell to the ground, unharmed.

"Looks like painter just used sketch on focus blast," Marisa said. "This isn't looking good for Emily."

"Now, Sableye, use night shade!" I said. Sableye let loose his attack, causing Blaziken some serious pain again. I jumped up, letting loose a barrage of air slashes. They exploded on contact, and he went down.

Emily blinked. "Well that's not good. Mawile, use sand storm."

Mawile stomped on the ground, and a wave of sand swirled from him, causing a sand storm to brew. I covered my eyes, as did Sableye. I understood now. Mawile was a support pokemon, not a battler. "Sableye, can you get in there and throw Mawile into the air?"

"I can try." He slowly started moving forward. I waited. Instead of Mawile, Sableye was thrown back. He got up shakily. "It's final move is sucker punch."

I nodded. If we could just get rid of the sand storm. I had it. I grabbed Sableye, and, with as much strength as I had left, I leapt into the air, being pushed to the side by sandstorm. I shot draco meteor at the ground, and there was a huge explosion. The sand storm broke apart, and Mawile went flying. I let go of Sableye, and formed a focus blast. I threw it, and it hit Mawile in mid fall. He hit the ground, done.

"Painter and Sableye have just defeated the undefeated Emily!" Marisa exclaimed.

Emily withdrew her pokemon. "Impressive. And you're welcome for the focus blast."

"Now we move onto the next battle."

"I'm afraid not."

I slowly turned in horror to see Jared and Alice standing behind the crowd. Zack, Delilah, and Derek quickly assembled around me. Jared laughed. "I can't believe you actually battled in this tournament. Did you really think we wouldn't find you?"

Derek growled. "We've gotten past you twice and we'll do it again! Everyone, run! Alakazam, air lift as many people with psychic as you can!"

There was a moment of chaos, and everyone was gone but the twins, Tyree, and Tim. "We aren't leaving." The twins said in unison.

"Neither are we," Tim said.

"Oh yes you are," Derek growled. "Alakazam!"

They all became surrounded in a blue aura and floated into the sky, protesting greatly. Jared smiled evilly. "You should have kept the support. We've recently made a new discovery in the lab. Delilah will be very interested in it."

He stepped aside, and Delilah screamed. Standing there was a little boy, no older than eight, who looked strikingly similar to Delilah. His blonde hair was tinted white, and his skin seemed a bit blue. Two round blue ears rested on the top of his head. He had a slight runny nose.

Alice, instead of having her usual snobby attitude, looked very angry, and not at us. "Jared said we weren't doing this."

"Yes, well Jared lied, you airhead." He smiled at Delilah. "So, shall you come join us, come be with your family?"

She was extremely pail. I looked at Derek and Zack for an explanation. They were both staring in horror as well. "Painter, that's the cubchoo pokemorph. That's Lucas!"

Jared smiled. "So, you choose to rebel. Fine then. Lucas, deal with them."

"With pleasure," he said. His fist became surrounded in light blue energy, and he charged at us. The others were still in shock, and didn't look like they were about to move. I couldn't move all of them out of the way.

Just before he reached us, Alice's fan struck his attack, and the energy surrounding his fist broke away. It must have been focus punch.

Derek turned to Alice, who looked as cold as ice. This is going too far," she said. "Stop it, or you will have to go through me."

He laughed. "That won't be hard." He lunged forward, gripping her throat with vicegrip, ready to choke her to death.

A tornado whipped from Alice, prying Jared off of her. The attack expanded, and it hit us and Lucas as well. We all fell over. This must have been twister.

Alice grabbed her throat. "Well don't just stand there, you idiots! Move!"

The others had broken out of there, trance, and nodded, high tailing it out of there. I ran to her side. "You will need some back up."

"Believe me, I won't." she looked in the direction of the river, and her eyes glowed pink. What seemed to be the entirety of the river floated out, forming into a giant bubble above us. This was psychic. But how? Milotic couldn't learn that.

A beam of blue energy hit the bubble, and it froze into a solid block of ice. Lucas had used ice beam. Alice fell to her knee. "I can't hold that. It's too heavy!"

There was what sounded like a battle cry or something, and Delilah came flying over, supported by Alakazam's psychic. "Alice, drop it!"

The ice block started to fall, and Delilah rammed her hands into it as hard as she could. It shattered, the ice pieces falling around us. She landed nimbly and faced Lucas.

Lucas scowled at her. "Go away, traitor."

"Lucas, I'm not a traitor. They're the bad guys."

"They saved me, which is something you never did."

Delilah looked like she was about to cry. "Lucas, that's not fair! I couldn't do anything!"

"No, you could have! You chose not to! You would let me, your last living relative die!"

"Wait, what?" I said.

Delilah was in misery. "Bro…"

"I'm done talking!" He sniffed in as hard as he could, and let loose a wave of snow at us. Blizzard.

"Delilah!" Alice yelled. Her eyes glowed pink again, and Delilah flew behind us. The attack got a few feet from us, then fell to the ground. Alice was looking extremely drained.

Jared got up. "Lucas, we're done here. Alice has decided where she stands, and we no longer need them. Retreat." Lucas, giving one last evil look at Delilah, then followed.

Alice removed her hand from her neck, which was covered in blood. "Crap. That dumb Jared scratched up my throat pretty bad."

The others came over, Zack with a thing of gauze. He started quickly wrapping Alice's neck. He tied it off when he was finished. "There. Try not to strain your neck too much."

Delilah hadn't taken her eyes off of the spot where Lucas had been. Alice stood up, and Delilah turned around. Without saying a word, Alice held her arms out. Delilah immediately ran into the hug and started sobbing. It was so sad, the most painful thing I had ever had to hear.

But she had every right to cry. Her revived brother hated her, and tried to kill her.
