Chapter 9

It had been two weeks since Sakura told Sasuke how she felt.

It had also been two weeks since she moved back into her own house and lived with her family again.

For Sasuke it had been the two weeks where his life turned back to the way it had been before. Only his life wasn't the same anymore.

He hadn't seen Sakura since.

He hadn't seen anyone since. He did not go on any missions at all. He just sat on top of the roof all day and stared at the ever changing sky, thinking.

How did it come to this? What actually happened?

Sasuke didn't want to think about useless things anymore so he decided to take a walk through the village.

Then he suddenly stopped and looked up. All there was to see was a big window with a small balcony but he looked at it like there was something to see.

His gaze was interrupted when suddenly a face appeared before him.

"Oy Teme! What are you doing here?" said the smiling voice. He was always smiling. How did he do it?

But Sasuke knew the answer deep down and it wouldn't change anything for him.

It was because it was Naruto.

Not bothering to answer Naruto, Sasuke started walking again.

"Hey wait up! Hey!" called Naruto as he ran after him to catch up.

Sakura looked out of the window of her room. She thought she had heard Naruto but it must have been a mistake. There was no one on the street.

Laying her hand on her stomach she whispered "Don't worry. Someday I hope you get to meet your daddy and are able to talk with him the way I never was."

Picking herself up by making a fist and holding her arm she said to herself "Yosh! It's time for work"

And with that she made her way to the Hospital. Sakura was still feeling ill in the mornings. Some days were worse than others but she managed to do okay.

Kakashi helped a lot. She told him what had happened. He wasn't really happy that it turned out this way but he still helped her out with things and made it easier for her.

He was, besides Shizune, the only one who knew of her pregnancy. And Shizune thought she was still living with Sasuke who supported her after she told him. That was at least what Sakura had told her. She didn't want her to worry and tell Tsunade about everything.

If she did, it probably couldn't be kept a secret anymore. Well, but then again her time was running out anyway since she had only two month before her stomach started showing.

Naruto had caught up to Sasuke and they were now on their old training ground.

"Hey do you remember when we had just formed Team 7? This was where we had to fight Kakashi-sensei for the bells." Naruto laughed "I got enchained to the log and you and Sakura had to feed me in order for me to eat something and regain my strength so we could fight him again"

But Sasuke had no intention of reminiscing with him "Naruto I don't like talking about the past"

The blonde looked at him "Haha I know! But you seemed kind of down so I wanted to cheer you up or something like that?!"

Sasuke looked surprised at the smiling boy who had gotten a little red of embarrassment.

"How do I seem down? I'm like this all the time"

But Naruto only looked at him "No you're not. You may not have noticed it but the last couple of weeks you seemed to finally have found something to make you happy. Even though you don't show it" he continued.

Sasuke couldn't help but laugh. How ridiculous! 'What's with them talking about all this crap about being happy or not.'

"Funny! You think I was happy then but Sakura didn't and when she thinks I am, you don't. What's with that crap!" he said getting serious and a little angry.

"Are you kidding me!"

Naruto was a little surprised at his outburst and considered for a short while what his answer will be "Why don't you try saying how you feel for a change then? I know that's probably the most difficult thing in the world for you haha. But to the person you consider important, why don't you give it a shot? Sometimes there are things that you have to say yourself, otherwise they won't understand"

It took a little while for the Uchiha to respond "Shut up. You're such a busybody you know that Naruto?" He turned around and left.

However, Naruto was smiling. He could have sworn he had seen a little smile on his former Teammates face for a second.

"You're lucky you're my best friend" said Naruto in a small voice since Sasuke wasn't even there anymore to listen "Even I notice things if it's about my most important firends. I sure am jealous!" and with that he too left, making his way to the only place that would cheer him up: Ichiraku's.

It was already dark when Sakura finished her work and made her way out of the Hospital.

On the way out, she heard two middle aged nurses talking to each other "It's terrible! It's already the sixth girl", "I know. It's already the sixth girl that was harassed by some guys." "Haven't you heard? It's getting worse. This time the girl was even raped and not only that, she has also a lot of cuts on her body from a knife." "Oh my how terrible!"

The two nurses notice Sakura "Oh you're going home for today Sakura-san? Good work today as well. Make sure you rest well and don't overwork yourself" "And be careful on your way home, it's getting dangerous for young girls like you at night." Reminded her the other one.

"Don't worry. I'm strong. Personally I hope I'll run into them," She showed her fist and grinned "I'll give them a good beating!"

The two nurses laughed "True, we probably don't have to worry about you" "Right she is the student of the fifth Kage!"

"Good Night"

While Sakura was walking down the street she noticed it was getting less crowded. The Moon was behind clouds and there were no stars. It was getting really dark and the only thing lighting the way were the street lamps flickering.

Then suddenly she felt someone grabbing her from behind and pulling her into a side alley.

It was so dark she couldn't see at first until her eyes got used to the darkness. She only felt two strong grips pushing her against the wall.

"You know it's dangerous for a little girl like you to walk around alone so late at night"

"Well it's more dangerous for you that you picked me to be your next victim" she said to the three guys that were grinning at her like perverts " Actually I was hoping I'd ran into you!"

And with that she punched the first one so hard he was instantly knocked out. But before the rest could do something five other guys came to their help, wielding knifes and swords.

"You Bitch! You're gonna pay for that"

Sakura had to be careful that they wouldn't get to her stomach. She had to protect it at all cost. But to protect her own body was something she learned to do so it shouldn't be too difficult she thought to herself optimistic before she jumped in and began beating them up.

One guy after another fell to the ground but guys kept coming. There were at least 20 of them now. "Hah,hah so you were a whole gang" stated Sakura trying to get a good breath.

"You won't get away Bitch" one of them cried out before they all jumped at her at once.

'This could get dangerous' Sakura was now in a real pinch but she wouldn't give up so she struck out for the next punch.

Her fist didn't reach them though. And neither did any of their weapons reach Sakura.

Someone had jumped in between, swiftly and without a sound. The only thing you could hear were swords colliding.

"Sasuke-kun!" cried Sakura out "What are you doing here?"

Sasuke didn't answer. He started his attack and within seconds every last one of them was cut down.

His back was illuminated from the moon that came out from behind the clouds as he swiftly put his sword back into its scabbard.

Then he turned around and looked at Sakura. "You okay?" he asked surprisingly soft.

She could feel her heart melting all over again. Would that ever stop? She was so relieved and happy to see him. It had only been two weeks but it felt like eternity.

When Sakura took so long to answer, Sasuke started walking over to her to see if she was hurt anywhere.

"I'm okay" she finally got out "Thank you so much"

Sasuke was now standing directly in front of her.

"Sakura I…" he started but then went quiet again. He just couldn't get himself to say it.

Sasuke looked at Sakura who looked right back at him with her big green eyes questioning what he wanted to tell her. There weren't any other emotions showing on her face. There was only openness and curiosity for what he will say. She looked so adorable.

Before anything else could be said his lips found their ways to hers and were placed on them. He pulled her closer to him, never wanting to let go of her again.

But Sakura couldn't hold on to it anymore and pushed him away. He hadn't expected her to do that as did Sakura.

She had sworn to herself that when she parted from him that would have been the last time she'd cry in her entire life. She wanted to get back to her old strong self. But whom was she kidding she knew best that she was always crying even back then.

She couldn't help but smile a little while her tears ran down her face. She was a mess but she felt so much better after saying it to the person she wanted to say it to the most all this time.

"Sasuke-kun I'm pregnant"

And there it was.

They stood there alone in the dark alley while Sakura was crying from relief and anxiety for what he would think and respond.
