Hi guys I am so, so, so, so, so, so, so, SO SORRY! I don't know how long it's been but it's beena long time! I've been really busy with college and work so I haven't been writing as much as I wanted to.

So I'm going to try and write at least one chapter a week.

Again I'm so sorry!

I want to thank daydreamer1998, if it wasn't for this fan I don't think I would have been inspired to carry on this story. I was in a writer's block and felt like I couldn't carry this on. But Thank you! I think I pulled it off so...

ENJOY!

It had been days. Days without them speaking to one another and it hurt. Hurt like a knife through the heart. He had hurt her once again, though it not really being his fault, but it still must have hurt her. They had just sorted out their problems and were rebuilding what they had lost. But it all came crashing down. And ever since then Starfire had refused to speak to Robin or even look at him. It was too hard for her. The only time they would speak or look at each other were on missions.

Robin couldn't stand it anymore! He missed kissing her, holding her especially at night. She had moved back to her old room and he missed her warmth at night, it was always cold when she was gone. He missed her smile, her smell and the way she would always brighten his day.

She never seemed to smile anymore, and of course that was his fault.

"Robin?" he heard Raven call from behind him.

"What?" he snapped

"You've been looked in here for days trying to figure out Slade's next move."

"And you point is?"

"Have you even tried talking to Star?"

"No... I know she doesn't want to talk to me."

"I don't think-"

That's when he lost his self control, all the anger that had been increasing was finally let out. "Well you shouldn't! You don't know anything about relationships, epically mine and Starfire's!"

"I don't have to be an expert on relationships to know that this one is sinking like the Titanic." She said in her naturally calm voice.

"And what do you suggest huh?"

"Maybe start by sending Bat Girl on her way."

"I can't, she can help with Slade."

"And that's what I was looking for."

"What?"

"It's always about Slade Robin. You always put him first and don't even think about anyone else's feelings."

"Because Slade is our number one priority!"

"Ours? Or yours?" And without another word Raven left the room, leaving Robin a state of self pity.

That's when there was a knock at the door. Why couldn't everyone just leave him alone!

"What!?" He shouted when the door slid open. Then he stopped. Stopped speechless at the sight in front of him.

"Sorry, I did not mean to disturb you." A shy and timed looking Starfire said, looking at the ground. "I will just take my leave."

"No wait!" Robin shouted in desperation. "I... I'm sorry I've just been stressed out."

"With the situation involving Slade?"

"Yes and with... us."

"As have I."

"So... did you want to talk?"

"No." She said honestly, she could see the sad expression appearing on Robin's face. She would love nothing more than to be back in his arms. But this was for the best. She needed to know where his loyalties lied. "I just wished to inform you that the team are going to be enjoying a night of a movie and the popcorn, if you did wish to join."

"I can't I need to-"

"Work on the stopping of Slade?" Starfire said with a disappointed look, she though he could at least try and change his ways. Maybe some people never learn.

"Yeah." He could tell she was upset, he still couldn't learn could he. This is what she was talking about. It was always about Slade, never about her. That's why she keeps getting hurt, physically and emotionally. It was people he always let his pride get in the way.

"I shall leave you to-" She said as she started to leave.

"Star."

"Yes?"

"I could maybe watch at least half of the movie."

A surprised but just as bright smile appeared on her face. It was a start. "Then shall we go?"

"Yeah."

They enter the common room together, ignoring the strange looks give to them by their friends. He knew they would react like this, but it's not like they had sorted anything out. No it was going to take a lot of work to gain Starfire's trust again.

"I have obtained Robin friends, now we can begin with the movie." Starfire said in delight.

And there was the voice he had missed. That's what he wanted to hear every day, that bright an happy voice. He wanted her to be happy.

"Hey are you guys watching a movie?"

And there was the voice he hadn't missed. Though Babs had been helping out with the Slade situation, she was intervening with his life. All he wanted was for her to leave. But he needed her. He needed to find out why Slade was in Gotham the other week. What did he need? What did he want?

"Yeah the team were." Raven said in an annoyed voice, she really didn't like Batgirl. There was something off about her. Something she couldn't put her finger on but knew it was there.

"Oh great then I'll join you." Like a parasite you attached herself to Robin, squeezing in between him and Starfire. Creating enough room for her to sit down and pushing Starfire aside. "You don't mind do you Starfire?" She asked sarcastically.

Disappointment ran through Starfire. They may be in a middle of an argument, but she would have like to sit next to Robin. Just to feel his warm again.

"No it is quite alright."

"Star-"

"Robin I am the okay with it, now let us continue to watch the photography or cinema."

"Thanks again Star." Batgirl said with a greedy smirk.

Throughout the entire duration of the move Batgirl attached herself to robin like a scared little mouse. Burying her head in his arm and letting out tiny screams. All robin could do was comfort the screaming girl, much to his dislike. And all Starfire could do was sit and watch. She knew what was going on. Robin was moving on, their past must be what made them kiss. She knew she couldn't compete with someone Robin once loved before.

"Please excuse me, I need some air".

"Star wait-"

"Seriously Robin the girl needs some air, leave her be." Batgirl interrupted.

Robin sighed. "Your right, I need to get on with some work."

"Do you need any help, I may have some information you can use.

"Sure."

As he got up a voice came into his mind "This is what I mean Robin."

"Raven get out of my head."

"This is what I was trying to warn you about, what do you think Starfire is thinking and feeling right now?"

"I don't know."

"You do Robin." And with those last words Raven left, leaving Robin in a daze.

"Robin?" he heard Batgirl call."Are you coming?"

"Yeah. I'm coming."

Maybe Raven was right, maybe this wasn't a good idea. But Slade needs to be captured and put away for good.

"Oh Robin" Starfire cried as she held the necklace Robin gave her. She remembered what he had said not long ago.

Flashback

"I guess that means I can give this back to you" Robin reached into his utility belt and produced the diamond star necklace he gave her on their six month anniversary "You gave this back to me for a reason, and now I understand. I want to give you this back as a promise that I won't ever leave your side, I may not be able to protect you from all dangers but I will do my best to protect you as best I can. You are my shining star, you show me the way when I'm lost and you never burn out. Star I love you and I will forever more, you are mine and I'm yours. Will you please take this back as a token of my love and to a new start?"

"You promised to protect me, but instead you have broken my heart into two again. You can't seem to protect me from that."

"No he can't."

Starfire looked up in alarm. "Slade! What are you doing here?"

"Why I've come to see you."

"Me? Why in the name of earth are you here to see me?"

"Oh come now, do I need to spell it out for you."

"I do not do the understanding."

"I know about you life Starfire. You past. Your secret."

"You know nothing about me!" She breathed in anger, clenching her teeth.

"Oh but I do dear. What the Citadel did you to. I know what you did to escape from the Psions-"

"Do not mention those vile creatures to me." Starfire Interrupted in rage.

"And what did you do to escape them?"

"I did what I had to do."

"But who would accept you if they knew what you did huh? Would your friends still want you here, would they still trust you?"

"No they would not."

"And what about Robin? You were going to tell him. You were going to tell him everything." He threw a metal orb on the floor, projecting a video image of Robin and Batgirl kissing. "And then this happened. He broke your heart."

"Stop." Starfire whispered, as she sank to the floor.

"He kissed another girl."

"Please. Stop."

"Right in front of your eyes."

"Please."

"After he promised to protect you, after he promised to love you." Slade bend down and whispered in her ear. "But who could love a monster like you?"

"Stop!" Starfire screamed. She started shooting her start bolts, causing the device to explode into ash. But when she fired at Slade,he was nowhere to be seen.

"Star?" In a hurry she turned to the voice.

"Yes friend Beast Boy?"

"Are you okay? I hear shouting."

"Yes I am the alright, I was just angry at myself."

"Because of Robin?"

"Yes."

"Star, he's an idiot if he can't see what's in front of him."

"Maybe I am an idiot as well. For ever thinking I could trust him."

"Trusting him with what?"

"Do not worry friend."

"Star if something is bothering you, you can tell me."

"No I can't"

"Star you like a sister to me, you can tell me anything."

"Beat Boy I can not."

"Star-"

"Beast Boy! Do the leaving me alone, I said no and I wish you could respect my wishes." In a rush she placed a hand over her mouth. "I am sorry I did not mean to-"

"It's okay Star, I get it. I pushed you too much, you've been through a lot. I'll leave you alone." Beast Boy said sadly as he left the roof.

"Oh my now you're shouting at your friends."

"Leave me alone." As she turned to leave Slade grabbed her arm.

"Before you go running off maybe you need to convince me not to tell your friends your little secret."

"You would not."

"Oh my dear I'm sure you know me by now. I would." He hissed, tightening his grip on her arm.

"What do you want from me?"

He let go of her arm and placed a round object in her, she looked down to see a communicator shaped like her own. Only this one was black and had Slade's symbol on it.

"I'll give you information on this when needed, and you are to wear this ear piece when you go on battles."He said handing her the ear piece.

"Why?"

"Don't ask questions, you keep your mouth shut and I'll keep mine." He said jumping on to the roof platform. "Until we meet again." Those were his last words before he jumped off the edge of the roof.

"How did it come to this?"

Starfire raced to her room to hide her new equipment, as she stashed it in her wardrobe a knock sounded from her draw.

"Yes who is it?"

"It's me..."

"Robin?"

"Yeah... Can we... You know talk?"

"I do not think that this moment in time is appropriate."

"I know but I just want to speak Star. Make things right."

"I do not think we can Robin."

"I know what you saw, but you've got it all wrong." She did not answer him, she did not want to. Not right now, not with what just happened. "Please Star."

"Please Robin, I wish to be left alone."

"Star please!"

She had to make the hardest dissection, she had to keep him away from what was going on. Just until she could figure out what to do. She couldn't tell her team, not right now, and especially Robin.

"Robin I do not wish to speak to you, you have heart me too much!"

"Star we can talk about this, make things right."

"No we can not, we can not go back to the way things were. You promised to protect me and you were the one who wounded me. Broke me. I just can't Robin."

"Don't do this Star. Just open the door and look at me. You will see how sorry I am, how much I want you back. To hold you. To love you. Please I'm begging."

It hurt so much to do this, but it was to keep him safe. "Then your begging is unneeded and unwanted. Goodnight Robin."

"Star!" He yelled bagging on the door.

"Goodnight!" She screamed holing in the sobs.

"Fine Star be like that. See you in the morning. Seven o'clock sharp, combat training."

She stayed silent until his footsteps couldn't be heard. "I love you she whispered." As she cried into her hands, holding onto the last reminder of their love. The one this she would treasure. The necklace.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, I tried to make it long enough to make up for the long wait, but I didn't want to give everything away in one chapter.

I hope you enjoyed!
