Chapter 8: In The Infirmity:
Merida sat down and watched as the yeti's bandaged Rapunzel's left arm and stitched up the small cut on her head. She was fascinated by the fact that Rapunzel still wore a tiny smile even with the events that happened only hours ago.
They had just been attacked by their enemies and barley survived. Everyone was on edge. North, Aster, Tooth, and Sandy were now in the main room trying to get a better strategy together, while Hiccup and Jack were trying to learn from the same book that nearly got them killed. And she's pretty sure Jack had a break down right after they arrived back to the workshop.
The fiery red head had to shake the thoughts out of head, so she could focus on the spirit of Spring. The yetis made quick work of patching the brunette up and checking her over for anymore injures. When they finished their work they left the room to help around the busy area.
The two girls stayed silent and unmoving as the door slammed shut. "Well if it's now or never," Merida muttered to herself. She stood from her chair in the corner and walked over to the bed Rapunzel sat upon. "How do ya do it," she asked.
The other girl looked up at her with a puzzled look, "How do I do what, Merida?"
"How ya still have that smile on your face when we could have been destroyed in that library over a stupid book," said girl asked wildly.
Rapunzel giggled at the statement. She thought over how she should comment on. Her green eyes brighten at the answer that came to her, "Well Merida, it could've been worst," she said softly.
The summer spirit rolled her eyes, "Says the girl who's now sitting in the infirmity."
"With only a minor burn on my arm and a very small cut to my head," Rapunzel started to say, "It could be worst and you should be lucky that no one else was hurt. The book is still with us and not the Omegas, another thing we should be glad of."
Merida let out a heavy sigh and sat down on the bed. She took Rapunzel's hand into her own, "I guess yer right… things could've been worst."
Rapunzel nodded her head.
Their hands stayed locked as they sat in the quiet room.
"So where's Hiccup and Jack," Rapunzel asked, ending the silence that seemed to last forever.
"I remember Hiccup saying that they were going to the library near the main room to learn some more 'bout that old dusty book," was her response.
She nodded her head then stood up earning a shocked and questioning look from Merida. As she moved towards the door she heard the other girl ask, "Where are you going?"
Rapunzel turning around and her smile only grew larger, "Well we can't let the guys have all the fun, can we?"
Merida shot her a grin before standing up and walking to the girl. "No we can't have that… let's show them we're just as good as them."
Rapunzel gigged, grabbed her hand, and gave Merida a soft peck on the cheek before they moved out the room, down the hall, towards the library.
