Despite Tulio's protests, Miguel was still unsure about sleeping in the bed with Tulio. He wanted to make Tulio as comfortable as possible. He had been through so much, the least he could do was give him his bed.
Meanwhile, Tulio didn't want to cause any trouble. The last thing he wanted was to make Miguel, or Miguel's family uncomfortable. Miguel noticed that Tulio wasn't himself, and was wondering why.
"Tulio, what's wrong?"
"I feel guilty."
"Guilty? Guilty of what?"
"You had to beg for me to stay! I don't want to make you guys uncomfortable. I shouldn't be here, i'll ju-"
Miguel put his hand on Tulio's shoulder and gave him a reassuring look. "Tulio. You are not making anyone uncomfortable. Yes, it took some, convincing, but she said you could stay!"
"Exactly my point! You were practically on your knees begging like a dog! I shouldn't be here."
"She's, she's not used to being around, p-"
"I know, she's not used to being around people like me. Let alone welcoming them into her home!"
"Just give her some time, she's, going through a hard time." Upon saying this, Miguel's smile slowly dissolved into a frown. His mind being flooded by memories of his late father.
"Do you want to talk about your dad now?"
The blonde let out a sigh. "He was a kind man. He always made time for me and Maria. He could always make us smile, no matter the situation we were in. He," Miguel stopped himself, knowing he was about to cry. Tears slowly began to fall down Miguel's face.
Tulio noticed this, and just like Miguel had done for him, he put his arms around Miguel's body, and gave him a gentle hug.
"It's going to be okay Miguel. I'm here for you." as Tulio said this, a single tear formed and fell from his eye. He let out a soft sigh, still hugging a sobbing Miguel. "I'm here for you."
"Thank you Tulio."
"You're welcome partner."
