((Hello everybody and welcome back to the FABULOUS Sonic '06 Bloopers! Is it not fabulous? I left you all at an awkward place last time, so let's pick up where we left off! Today we will help save an endangered species, see Silver's cooking show, and Sonic becomes Jesus! Cause running on water. Yeah. Anyway, enjoy!))
Chapter 10
Meanwhile, back on set, the crew was acting fast. They were gathering every ladder and rope and bullhorn they had to gear up for a war against a giant bald eagle. Like an army charging toward battle, their arms full of the supplies, with Silver carrying much of it above and around him, they ran down one of many of the ruined stone pathways toward the tree, their shouts, air horns, and bells echoing through the air. Amy spread a mass of bird seed, dead fish and rodent dummies on the ground far from the tree, trying to lure the eagle away with replicas of its favorite foods. Tails and Silver flew up to the tree and draped a thick rope over the uppermost branch that they could reach and let it fall to the ground. The adult eagle looked over the side of the nest, its head cocking curiously. The crew raised the noise, the ones who could fly going as high as they could to scare the eagle away. It gave a shriek of protest and took off, flying away from its nest and swooping low over the group, causing them to duck. Their plan, so far, was working; the eagle landed at the buffet set up for it and began to eat.
While it was distracted, Tails flew up to the nest. Sonic had taken shelter underneath the giant egg shell as the eaglet squawked at him, pecking at his shield. The hedgehog looked up at Tails, a bit of panic in his eyes. "About time!" he exclaimed.
"I'll distract the ugly duckling, you get him out of here," Silver exclaimed, tossing little bits of fish across the giant nest, making the baby eagle waddle after the fresh food. Tails flew over and scooped Sonic up from under the shell, carrying him toward the ground. However, the eagle had noticed its baby being tampered with. It gave a mighty call that echoed around the valley and took flight, its giant wings causing a breeze that nearly blew everyone away. Silver took shelter in the interwoven twigs and branches of the nest, hiding from the eagle's view. It was soaring straight toward the flying fox and the hedgehog he carried, every wingbeat bringing it closer and closer to them.
The gusts of wind created by the giant eagle's wings blew Tails away from the stone path he was aiming for. Trying to keep himself steady, Tails almost didn't notice when Sonic slipped out of his hands. The blue hedgehog shouted in protest as he plummeted toward the lake that flooded the ruins, flailing his arms. Tails was out of energy, though, and helplessly landed on a low branch of the giant tree.
"Silver!" he shouted desperately, even though the one he called to couldn't be seen from below the nest. However, only a second passed when the hedgehog shot over the edge like a silver bullet, heading straight for Sonic in a streak of teal. Sonic gasped and reached out for Silver just before plunging into the lake, submerged in the icy water. Through blurry sight and a panicked state, he saw Silver as he dove in after him and caught him in his arms before reversing course and flying out of the water toward the raised roads. He tossed the waterlogged hedgehog onto the pavement before landing, shaking his fur out indignantly.
"You're heavy when you're wet," Silver said, wringing out his long quills.
Sonic just gave a grunt in response and sat up, looking over to see his friends running toward them in a mob.
"Sonic!" Amy tackled the rescued hedgehog to the ground in a huge glomp, nuzzling his wet fur affectionately. "You're okay!"
"Ugh, it was just a bird!" Sonic protested, trying desperately to push her off of him. "Seriously, gerroff me!"
There was suddenly several screams as the eagle swooped so low overhead that everyone had to drop to the ground, showering them with loose brown and white feathers. The predator gave a loud shriek as it circled around again.
"Sonic!" Tails shouted, hovering down to meet them. "What are we going to do? It won't stop!"
Sonic got to his feet, beginning to dry his own quills as he spoke. "It just wants to protect its baby. We've just got to give it what it wants."
"But we need it for the level!" Arumakan protested. "We need to calm it down!"
"We can't keep it from its child!" Amy joined in the argument. "It won't leave it alone, especially if it knows it could be in danger."
"Plus, did you see how many feathers it was losing?" Sonic asked, pointing up at the eagle as it continued to circle above them like a vulture. Sure enough, when it flapped its wings, feathers shook loose and drifted toward the ground. "It doesn't look healthy enough to protect its kids and do the level at the same time."
Tails had been thinking thoughtfully while everyone argued. "I could build a security system for it…" he murmured slowly. "Birds can be smart. If we demonstrate that the eaglet will be safe, maybe the parent will cooperate with us. It'll take away some of the stress. That is, if we just set up a way to get it to fly where we want it to…"
"Then what are you waiting for?" Arumakan blurted out, a little too excitedly. "Let's do it!"
"Hold on!" Tails protested, holding up his hands. "I'll need some time to make it!"
The director heaved a sigh. "We don't have time! Can you do it before the end of the day?"
Tails looked thoughtful. "Hm...I dunno…"
"C'mon, buddy, you're the greatest engineer we have on our team!" Sonic smiled encouragingly, draping an arm over his best friend's shoulders. "You can do it, easy!"
Tails broke into a grin. "Oh, c'mon, don't patronize me. Just give me a couple hours!"
The cast started to applaud, and Tails's confidence quickly and abruptly turned to humbleness, tucking his muzzle into his chest fur, his cheeks flushed through his smile. Arumakan raised his hands to quiet the crowd.
"Alright, alright, we'll put this level on hold," the director said. Of course, at these words he was only met with more applause and loud whoops and hollers. "However!" he shouted, which quelled the cheers, "There is still work to be done. We will move on to the Mach Speed section and Silver's tutorial level."
The excited faces of the cast quickly changed to disappointment, groans and sighs echoing throughout the group. One person wasn't as upset as the rest, as Silver gave a whoop of excitement, having been waiting for his moment to shine since the beginning of filming. They began to trudge back to the set, talking amongst themselves. It wasn't long before the conversation switched from the downtrodden discussion about the filming ahead to possible ideas for Tails's planned contraption. The various ideas flying over his head from person to person, no matter how scientifically inaccurate or impossible, made the little fox go into a blushing frenzy. He was the first to disappear into his trailer, but the ideas, including those spitballed by the cast, were already swirling in his head.
At the start of the Mach Speed Section, a large valley of castle ruins between two waterfalls, Sonic was preparing for filming the level, stretching his legs and touching his toes. The director and other cast members stood under a tent to shelter from the mist that was already drenching the blue hedgehog. He shivered slightly as the water clung to his fur, seeping in and chilling his skin.
"I better get a warm towel when this is done!" Sonic shouted to the director. Arumakan opened his mouth to speak when a sudden, piercing shriek was heard from above. Sonic froze, recognizing the birdcall. Hesitantly, he looked up over his shoulder. Sure enough, a giant eagle, this one larger than the previous one, was headed straight for him.
"It's the first eagle's mate!" Amy shouted from the sidelines. "The mother! Sonic, run!"
Sonic grit his teeth, his eyes widening. "You don't have to ask me twice!" He took off as the eagle dove down, her talons just barely missing his quills, the close call causing him to stumble at the get-go. "Start filming, because I'm not stopping!" Sonic screamed over his shoulder as he disappeared into the valley of ruins.
Arumakan looked a bit taken aback, then stuttered, "Uh..a-action!"
E3 DEMO STAGE - Kingdom Valley; Mach Speed Section
Sonic: *dashes through the stage, using a Light-Speed Dash on trails of Rings to speed up, refusing to look behind him*
Arumakan: Sonic, whatever you do, don't look down and don't slow down!
Sonic: *sees that the stone paths he's running on is coming to an end, gasps and jumps at the last second, somersaulting in midair to land on his feet on stone slabs jutting out from the walls, but daunted by the water all around him, he misses the fifth one he's supposed to land on and instead lands on the cliff face, grits his teeth when he realizes what's going on and, in a panic, takes off running faster than before as if to try and escape the waterfall*
Amy and Elise: Whoa…
Tails: He's running on the side of a cliff!
Knuckles: You don't say?!
Sonic: GET ME OFF THIS THIIIIIING! *but it isn't long before his feet reach solid ground, breathes a sigh of relief*
Amy: *looks ahead at the course* It's not over, is it…
Sonic: WHAT?! *the path curves back onto the vertical waterfall, giving him no choice but to run across it lest he falls into a watery grave, squeezes his eyes shut and whimpers* I wanna go hooooome….
Arumakan: You're doing great, you're almost done!
Sonic: *after a while, feels the ground start to even out as the path gradually curves to a flat surface, opens his eyes and shouts in relief* Finally! *notices a ramp ready to launch him into the stone slabs that are sticking out of the valley walls* I thought you said it was over!
Arumakan: Just jump!
Sonic: AGH! *goes off the ramp, careful not to overshoot himself and lands on the slab, jumping off to land on a pillar before landing back on solid ground with a sigh of relief, takes off running toward the end, but the eagle is gaining on him, glances behind him and gasps, speeding up, slamming into the castle door at the end of the stage, pounds on it desperately until it slides open, slips inside and pushes the giant door closed, leaning against it with a sigh of relief as he the giant eagle stops short of the door, gives a squawk of frustration and flies away*
Arumakan: *speaking over a bullhorn once the eagle is gone* Alright, the coast is clear, you can come out! We're going to move on to Silver's demo, Cook City!
Sonic: *slides down against the door, slouching* No thanks...I think I need a break. The stress is too much…
Arumakan: No, we need you for something. *enters the building and drags Sonic out by his ear*
Sonic: Owowowow! What's the big idea?!
Arumakan: You'll see. Just come on!
DEMO STAGE - Cook City?
Silver: *standing in a pristine kitchen in a perfect skyscraper in a whole, clean city, a white apron on over his fluffy chest, dishes set out on the table* Hello, and welcome to the tutorial of Cook City! I'm here with my assistant, Blaze the Cat…
Blaze: *looking miserable in a pink ruffled apron* Why am I even here…
Silver: Don't be such a sourpuss, this was my idea! Anyway, today we will be making the perfect cake. Before you start, make sure the oven is preheating to 350 degrees. Here's what you will need…
Tails: *looking at the script in confusion as Silver lists off ingredients, looks at Arumakan* Are you sure this is supposed to be in a Sonic game?
Arumakan: *grinning, watching interestedly* Shh, this is good, this is good!
Tails: Are you sure it wasn't-
Arumakan: Hush! We're trying to give the fans a different experience!
Sonic: *mumbles* Says every SEGA developer ever…
Silver: Once you have all that, make sure you have the proper measuring cups, a large bowl, teaspoons, and a pan to cook it in. Spray the pan with cooking spray so the cake doesn't stick. Combine the ingredients in the bowl and mix thoroughly, like so…
Sonic: *stomach grumbles* This is making me hungry. I'm going to the food court. *gets up and leaves*
Amy and Knuckles: Me too.
Tails: Me three! *all three follow Sonic*
Arumakan: *watching far too excitedly to care, looking like a schoolboy in a donut shop*
Silver: Once it's smooth, pour it evenly into the pan! Assistant Blaze, could you please start the oven?
Blaze: Mmph. *opens the oven, but as soon as she reaches (with an oven mitt) to pull out the wire rack, flames burst from her fingertips and set the oven on fire, yelps and leaps on top of the table, landing on her toes, her fur bristling and her back arched*
Silver: *gasps as the bowl of cake mix goes flying, catches it with his telekinesis* Blaze, what's the big- Oh. *by now the fire has caught the curtains on a nearby window, spreading rapidly*
Blaze: *frantically trying to pat out a fire on her oven mitt*
Arumakan: *snaps out of his beloved cooking show daze, shouts* Everyone, evacuate the building! Head to the streets!
Blaze: *as they run out* I swear it wasn't my fault! Ovens make me nervous!
All: *everyone stands out on a highway overpass, watching as the fire spreads quickly, burning down the building and spreading throughout the city, toppling buildings - as if the entire city was coated in an extremely flammable and almost acidic substance, the streets even cracking and lava spewing out from the fissures*
Arumakan: My kitchen…!
Sonic: *he, Tails, Knuckles and Amy return with food, Sonic in the process of munching on a chili dog, looks around* Did I miss something…?
Blaze: This is completely illogical…
Tails: Clearly the logic sword is at work once again. Who has it now?
Silver: *totally not paying attention, holding the cake with telekinesis over a patch of flames*
Sonic, Blaze, Knuckles, Amy, Tails: *slowly turn to stare at him*
Silver: *glances over his shoulder* What? I just need 45 minutes- *suddenly, the cake is grabbed out of his telekinetic grip by a metal claw* NO!
Eggman: *in his hovercraft, rising from beneath the overpass with the uncooked cake in hand* Oh, how thoughtful! How'd you know it was my birthday?
Silver: *whines* Give it baaaack!
Eggman: Not yet, it's not done. *opens up a hatch under the dashboard, which is apparently an oven, and seen behind his back when he bends over is a peculiar-looking pre-mentioned sword in the back of his hovercraft, sticks the cake inside the oven* If you want it, you'll have to come and get it before it's done! Nyahahahahahahaha! *flies off*
Silver: *falls to his knees* No! How could a man be so cruel?!
Sonic: *sighs, pats Silver's shoulder* Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Arumakan: My plan is ruined! What are we going to do to replace the cooking stage?!
Tails: Just rename it.
Arumakan: What? Are you crazy?
Tails: Look around. There are some perfect paths set out from the flames. It could be a level. You already had planned a stage of fire. Just make this into a demo stage.
Arumakan: Hm...perhaps. I know! We could call it...Crisis City!
Silver: Who CARES?! I just want my cake back! *flies off to the start of the level and it begins*
Arumakan: Alright, everybody, places! We are going to make this setback work!
Sonic: *grumbles* Says every SEGA developer ever.
((And I'll end it there! I was having a really hard time deciding how I should write out bloopers for the Crisis City demo, because there are shockingly few videos from the E3 beta demonstration. Instead, I started talking to my real life friends Paperyoshi368 and Pastrinator64, and they gave me the idea for Silver's cooking show! Now we know Arumakan's guilty pleasure, and the TRUE cause of the Flames of Disaster!
Follow and favorite and favorite so you don't miss the next EXCITING adventure in Sonic '06 Bloopers! Review if you have glitch/blooper suggestions, I greatly appreciate it! Until next time!))
