Author's Note: I am so sorry it hurts it seems I have not updated in about two years and for that I feel like an arse hole, my reason for doing so is various things but I shall keep it simple my real life has been all consuming and still is and will probably always will be. Despite all this I shall still try and finish this story even though I fear I might take years to do so.
As for this tiny chapter this was written in 2012 and never finished but I feel I owe you all something and hopefully the next chapter will be much longer and better written then all my previous attempts."I know not what I once was; now I am merely the slave of the Hanyo Naraku." As he said this he slipped down his hood to reveal the face of none other the Inu no Taisho himself. Silence enveloped the group while Sesshomaru trembled with supressed rage. Inuyasha recovered first, stepping forward he bellowed.
"I don't care who or what you are, you're going down!" He leapt forward, bringing down his sword in a mighty swing only to have to suddenly stop short of his target.
"SAE MOVE YOUR ARSE!" His body tensed with the effort it had taken to stop mid swing. But Sesshomaru stood his ground, refusing to move.
"I will not allow you to destroy him." He said firmly. Inuyasha glared at him and then quickly glanced at "Ichigo" What the hell was Naraku thinking calling him Ichigo?
"That is not my father! That is Naraku's sick twisted meat puppet!" Sesshomaru flinched at the harsh words before standing to his full height and glaring down his nose at the hanyo.
"It is still him, he just does not remember it. And as long as I have breath in my lungs then I shall defend him. I will…" Sesshomaru was suddenly cut short as a large clawed hand wrapped around his throat and lifted him into the air.
"Why protect me? I am Ichigo now, not this person whose memory you cling too." His face was perfectly blank but his voice betrayed his curiosity. Sesshomaru stared at the face of his sire whilst desperately scrabbling to free himself from the death grip on his wind pipe.
"Because I cannot lose you again." He choked out. A warm sincere smile graced the Inu no Taisho's face.
"I am honoured to have meant so much to you, I am deeply sorry to have to do this." A horrendous burning sensation bloomed in Sesshomaru's neck.
Poison…am I going to die? No not yet I REFUSE! With his last ounce of strength Sesshomaru gripped his father's hand and tried to force it away.
A blinding blue light erupted between the two forcing the elder demon to drop the human on the ground. He backed away and clutched his smoking wrist, while the group stared in morbid fascination as his hand slowly turned into dust.
Kagura stared wide eyed before swooping down quickly on her feather.
"We must retreat." She ordered.
"Oh no you don't wind bitch." Inuyasha yelled, bringing down his sword in one last swing. Sadly a swarm of demonic wasps took the brunt allowing for the two demons to escape.
"FOR FUCK SAKE!" Cursing wildly, as his face contorted angrily, Inuyasha turned back round to face Sae.
"What the hell do you think you are doing? Do you want to get us killed?" Sae however did not respond, he stared idly at where the two had disappeared his face filled with disbelief, fear and... joy? Before Inuyasha could try again to capture his attention sae's eyes role back into his head as he passed out the poison taking hold. Rushing to his side Inuyasha scooped the limp form into his arms before turning around and barking at the group.
"What are you all standing there for? Help me!"
You're alive, I can't believe it. How did Naraku bring you back…and what am I going to do about it? Sae had been awake for an hour now but he could not bring himself to open his eyes and let the others know. He had been thinking back to the incident and trying to figure out what this would mean for them all, would he have to kill his own father? Or could they save him? And if they did save him would he take back his kingdom?
Sae did not notice when he slipped from contemplation to the realm of dreams, dreams being a figurative word as this was more a memory then a dream. He was standing at the front gates awaiting his father's return from his latest conquest, soon all of the west would belong to the great Inu no Taisho and no one would be able to stop him.
He had been waiting outside for hours against his mother's wishes; it had been so long since he had seen his father that he was worried that he had been forgotten. But that did not matter Sesshomaru had been training very hard and had exceled in his studies of politics and was even learning foreign languages so as to better communicate with the other lords. If his father did not remember him now he would certainly would when he got back, after all how could he forget him when he had achieved what others twice his age would struggle to accomplish?
After four hours in the rain horns announced the arrival of his father, Sesshomaru could not contain his excited squeal before launching himself across the court yard and scrambling to get his attention.
"Daddy! Daddy it's me Sesshomaru! I did as you asked and worked really hard! I…" The pup's rambling was cut off with a swift hand to the back of his head.
"How dare you treat your lord father so disrespectfully, did I not teach you better?" His mother's cold piercing voice said from behind. Swallowing back the tears that threatened to spill, the young prince lowered his head in submission.
"I am sorry my lord, I only wished to greet you." Keeping his eyes lowered to the ground he bowed before quickly turning to leave. As soon as he was out of sight he ran as fast as he could to the gardens and straight up into his favourite tree, it had been planted the day of his birth and had grown vastly over the hundreds of years it had been there.
Huddled on the highest branches his sobbed silently into his knees, wondering what he had done wrong. All he had wanted was for his father to acknowledge him was that so much to ask? According to his mother yes, he was a lord's son and as so he was act accordingly and not embarrass his father the way he just did. What was I thinking behaving so uncouth? Father will surely think I am nothing but an uneducated human.
"So this is where you have been hiding." A deep gravelly voice said from below. Peeking down from his perch he saw his father standing at the base of the tree still clad in his armour and swords in place. With a single graceful leap the lord settled next to his son.
"Tell me my little one, why so sad?" Taking a shuddering breath Sesshomaru responded to his father's legs.
"I have displeased you and embarrassed you in front of your generals." A large calloused hand gently gripped his chin and tilted it up, forcing him to look upon his sire's face.
"I am not displeased and you did not embarrass me either. It is natural for you to miss me, your mother was just over reacting and I have already spoken too her about it." Still refusing to look at the lord's face, Sesshomaru tried to regain some form of control after all it would not do for someone of his standing and age to be crying like a new born pup.
"Look at me when I am talking to you. There is no reason to be afraid of me you are my pup and no matter what I will always be proud of you."
Author's Note: Sorry again please review even if it is just to tell me it is bad I am aware that there is grammar errors and spelling mistakes and I hope my next chapter will be an improvement.
