CH:10 Six Months? One Year?!

Just as Mei planned, the rebel shinobi were ready within the hour and we left for the enemy forces right on the dot; as the sun melted under the horizon. It took roughly thirty minutes to make our way towards their camp, dispatching the small and unfortunate patrol groups on our way.

Just short of one mile outside of our destination, the larger forces stopped to avoid any sensors the enemy camp may hold.

After collecting Zabuza, Haku, and Chōjūrō, I summoned Yuuto to throw a genjutsu over us before breaking away from the rest of the rebels.

"It is nice to be working with you again Zabuza-san, Haku-kun," Yuuto said from my shoulder. "And it is nice to make your acquaintance Chōjūrō-san."

"The pleasure is mine, Yuuto." Chōjūrō said in response. "I have yet to work with any of Tomiko's summons, and look forward to seeing what you can do."

"Well, Yuuto-kun is a genjutsu specialist," I said. "So even if we do see any other patrol groups inside the mile point, we'll be able to sneak past them without being detected."

"As lovely it is to be making introductions," Shishou sighed. "Let's pick up the pace. There's a fight brewing in the future, and I'm starting to get antsy for a little bloodshed!"

Haku and I laughed, being used to Zabuza's oddities for fighting. Chōjūrō just gave him a slight glance as we all picked up the pace.

Closing in on our final destination, we slowed down once more. Just as it began to rain, we landed on a few trees outside of the camp.

"I know this is The Land of Water and all," I drawled lazily. "But with as much as its been raining lately, you'd think we were in Ame."

"The rain isn't going to affect your genjutsu, will it Yuuto?" Chōjūrō asked.

"Not at all," he responded. "In fact, it kind of helps it out really. Using the rains natural nuances to render vision, I only have to do a small amount to hide our presence."

"Plus," I added. "When we separate to assassinate our targets, the rain will give us a stealth boost."

"Speaking of which," Shishou said. "I know Tomiko is able to cut off her chakra presence entirely, and I am past Anbu. I know where Haku's abilities are when it comes to masking his chakra, but how is yours, Chōjūrō?"

"I am fully capable of masking it to a Jōnin's standard." Chōjūrō said, but then looked slightly nervous. "I think."

Shishou lifted a lone brow before sighing. "You really need to work on that confidence of yours, kid."

Chōjūrō sweat dropped as Zabuza looked to me. "Will it be alright for Yuuto to accompany Chōjūrō for this mission?"

I smiled, giving him a thumbs up. "Of course!"

"Now that that's out of our way," he began, looking at the camp. "Locate the people in charge, would you?"

I nodded, activating the Īgurubijon and giving out a low whistle. "There's a loooot of people down there," I said. "But I see five important figures, none of them are together. One is sleeping in his tent," I said pointing towards a tent that wasn't too far away from us."

"Haku, you take that one."

"Understood, Zabuza-sama."

"There is another," I said. "Walking the perimeter with a group of men. I assume that they're patrolling."

"Chōjūrō, you will take down that group. Yuuto, you can use your genjutsu to confuse them."

"That is acceptable," Chojuro said with Yuuto nodding along from his shoulder.

"Two of them are closer to the center of the camp," I continued. "Though one is inside the large tent eating, and the other is sitting around the bonfire with a bunch of other people."

"I will take the one inside the tent," Shishou said. "We will save the one sitting at the bonfire for last. Once you take out your targets, make your way towards the large tent and meet with me inside. If you feel the opportunity arise, take out whoever you can on your way to the rendezvous point. From there we will take out the last commander, before Tomiko summons Daichi." Shishou looked towards me. "Where is your target located?"

"Far northeast corner of the camp," I said focusing in on the final commander's location. "Though she's with another group of people in a tent, a meeting perhaps?"

Zabuza gave a light hum. "See if they're discussing anything beneficial before taking her out."

"Understood, Shishou."

"Alright everyone," he started. "We all have our targets. Any questions?"

We shook our heads.

"Good, then move out!"

Zabuza vanished in a swirl of mist just as the genjutsu was lifted, due to Chōjūrō leaving with Yuuto.

I grabbed onto Haku's wrist, just as he was about to leap from the tree.

He looked at me quizzically. "Tomiko?"

"I know you don't like violence or killing," I said opening on his palm and placing one of my crystallized venom senbons on it. "But if you throw this at your target, no matter where it strikes him, it will be like he died in his sleep. The venom is fast acting and upon entering his bloodstream, will go straight to his heart, causing it stop. He won't wake up, or show any signs of pain."

He looked at the senbon, before looking up at me, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. "You know," he said closing his hand around the weapon. He placed his other hand on my cheek, stepping closer to rest his forehead on mine. "Older brothers are supposed to look after their younger siblings, not the other way around."

I smiled at him as he patted my cheek before turning away. "You'll just have to make it up to me then, won't you Haku-nii?"

Haku froze, before he turned his head back towards me and smiled. "I suppose I will, Tomiko."

He leapt away and I placed a hand over my heart, smiling.

"That's what family is for," I whispered before heading towards my own target.

TLA

Taking the easier route, I leapt through the trees on the perimeter of the camp, stopping on a branch outside of my target's location. Leaping towards the ground, I extinguished my chakra presence before slowly making my way towards the tent through some overgrown brush; activating the Īgurubijon.

'Strange…No noise is coming from inside the tent even though I can see them talking. Silencing seal perhaps? I'll have to get inside somehow…?'

Stopping my thoughts, I watched as a man walked up to the guard posted outside of the tent.

"Peaceful night, don't you think?" Asked the guard.

The man before him smiled, "Nine."

The guard smiled, "Are you sure?"

"Five." The man laughed, sticking his hand out towards the guard.

"You know how it goes," the guard laughed back, shaking the man's hand. "Nothing important has started yet, so you're just in time."

"Thank you, friend," the man beamed, walking by the guard and through the tent entrance.

'…What? Some code perhaps. Nine? Five? Peaceful night…Are you sure? Oh…OH! They're just adding up the number of vowels that are in the sentence. That's a pretty simple code.' I smiled to myself. 'Now to get in, but I'll need to snag myself a headband.'

I continued to watch as an opportunity approached the guard.

The guard tilted his head, "What brings you here?"

'Six.'

The drunk ninja continued to slosh towards the guard, pointing his cup towards the tent. "Oi, oi, oiii~! What's going—on in there?" He hiccupped.

"None of your concern if you haven't been invited by the commander," the guard crossed his arms. "I suggest you move along before you cause a scene."

"Hey now," he burped loudly, reaching for the guard. "No—no need to be like that, man."

The guard reacted swiftly, unleashing his sword and pointing it at the man's neck. The drunk swallowed thickly, a small dot of blood appearing at the point of the sword.

"I said," the guard growled. "Move. Along."

"Alright, alright, man!" The drunk began to stumble away, in my direction. "Just gonna take a leak and I'll be out of your—hair! Jeeze."

The guard sheathed his sword and stepped inside the tent, I smiled. 'Perfect.'

As the man was stumbling by, I grabbed his foot and tripped him into the bush. Rolling on top of him, I clamped my hand over his mouth and watched his eyes glaze over after sliding my hidden blade into his jugular.

'I'll be taking this,' I thought grimly while removing his head band and tying it loosely around my neck.

Reaching into my pouch, I pulled out a scroll and rolled it out on the ground. Releasing a small amount of chakra, similar to that of a startled animal, I placed his hand on the center of the seal. 'Seal!'

His body disappeared into the scroll.

Rolling the scroll back up I placed it back into my pouch.

'Now time for a little disguise, Monkey – Ox – Horse!'

I could feel the transformation take hold as I now stood up at a solid five foot five inches with short brown hair, and brown eyes. My clothes changing into the traditional Kiri outfit, black medium sleeved sweater with black slacks, and a slate grey flak jacket.

'This should do it,' I thought, approaching the tent just before the guard stepped back outside.

He glanced at me, looking me up and down before narrowing his eyes.

I stopped at a comfortable distance before him, giving a relaxed smile.

"Access to this tent is only allowed via invitation from the commander," he grunted.

I crossed my arms, looking him in the eye, "Twenty-two."

I witnessed the shock flash through his eyes, before he mentally went through what he said, realization coming through a moment later.

"Wait here," he stated before going back into the tent.

I watched him approach the commander, kneeling before her. Everyone in the tent seemed to tense after he spoke, and a few of them began making their way towards the entrance before the commander put up her hand and they stopped. She stood gracefully before beckoning the guard to lead her forward.

'Do I kill her while I have the chance, or risk being found out?'

"Here she is, ma'am," the guard said while lifting the flap of the tent for the female commander to pass through.

The commander has a light complexion with dark green eyes. Her hair is long and straight, the color reminding me of Mei's auburn locks. What stood out the most to me though, was her presence. Her aura reminded me of Zabuza, but where his confidence rolls off as cocky, hers comes off more sheepish. A strange mixture of shy confidence?

I stood at attention while she looked me over, but quickly relaxed after being waved off.

"Peculiar," she whispered, her voice melodious. "What is your name dear?"

"My name is Hana, ma'am." I stated, looking into her eyes as amusement seemed to be dancing across them.

"No surname, my dear Hana?" She asked, stepping a bit closer. "I didn't realize we would be receiving anyone from the village so soon?"

"Aa, it's just Hana." I said, briskly looking from the guard back to her. "And Yagura-sama has decided that the last few months have been too quiet since the last attack on the rebel camps, so he wanted to bolster the amount of people at a few of the outer lying camps just in case the rebels decided to make their move. You have received me, and a handful of others."

"That is quite the surprise," the guard growled. "How thoughtful of our most fearless leader."

"Oh, hush you," she slapped at the guard's arm. "I'll be frank with you, Hana-chan. My dear guard, Noboru, has concerns that you are a spy under a henge. Considering we have never come across you before, you won't mind if I test out his theory, do you?"

"You may do as you see fit, ma'am," I said with no hesitation. 'I have complete faith in the spider's techniques.'

"Wonderful," she smiled, reaching out towards the headband I borrowed. Placing her hand upon the headband, she closed her eyes and I could feel her beginning to focus on her chakra. "Release."

She opened her eyes and we stared at each other, the guard, now named Noboru released a sigh.

"Peculiar indeed," the commander whispered.

"I apologize for wasting your time, Honoka-sama," Noboru said bowing his head.

"Nonsense," the now named Honoka said cheerfully. "As a guard it is your duty to do exactly what you just did, and I commend you for that. Now you said Hana-chan was able to give you the correct code?"

He nodded, "Yes ma'am."

"Well we did leave hidden messages around Mist and the camp," she smiled. "So, if she found them and figured it out, and is here and willing to help the cause, then more the merrier!"

"I am more than willing," I said.

"Wonderful, dear," she smiled once more patting my shoulder. "Let us head inside then, shall we? Noboru, come inside as well, Hana-chan will be the last one tonight."

Noboru lifted the tent flap for Honoka to pass through, and I followed in behind her. Once Noboru made his way inside, Honoka placed her hand on the entrance and a sealing array appeared.

'That could possibly cause an issue when it's time for me to make my move.'

Looking around the tent, I could feel the interest as everyone's eyes appeared to be on me as well as Honoka.

"Everyone," Honoka began. "This is Hana, no surname. She was recently deployed from Mist, and after discovering our hidden messages, is here, and is willing to assist in the cause."

The atmosphere seemed to lighten after her declaration, and the other ninjas appeared to be more welcoming.

"Now everyone, please take a seat," she said. "Let us continue our progress from last time."

Looking around at the others, I took a seat towards the entrance in order to examine Honoka's sealing array while listening to their discussions.

'This is one of the most complex arrays I may ever viewed.'

"The poison was detected much quicker than anticipated," I heard a man say. "But thankfully, it was to be assumed that a rebel snuck into the camp and sabotaged the food supply."

'What?' Their discussion now had my full attention.

"A pity then," Honoka sighed. "But still, a good amount of people have died, fallen ill, and some are still assumed terminal. So, there is still a sliver of victory, even if the poison was discovered."

"Yes," Noboru said. "But the camp is more alert than ever, so we must be careful with our next couple of moves."

"That is true," Honoka began once more. She then looked towards the map laid out in front of her. "But if we could get into contact with Mei and her rebels, perhaps we could sneak a small group of them in."

"Easier said than done, Honoka-sama," a woman said. "We have tried locating the rebels before, but they have hidden themselves well since Yagura's last attack."

"While past attempts have failed," Honoka began determinedly, "The rebels have been far too quiet, and it is believed that they are on the move again. We must locate them! The rebel movement is the only opportunity this country has in taking down Yagura!"

'You have got to be kidding, what kind of luck is this?' I stood abruptly, causing their discussion to end and everyone's attention focused on me while I made my way towards Honoka.

Everyone, save Honoka, tensed up but I continued to walk towards her.

"Yes, Hana?" She asked with a calm demeanor.

"If you could tell everyone to stand down," I said bringing my hand up into the release sign. "I can help you in locating the rebels."

"Oh, can you now?" She smirked, mischief dancing across her eyes. "Stand down everyone, I believe Hana-chan has something she'd like to share with us."

She gave me a knowing smiling.

'She knew this entire time that I wasn't who I said I was! There is more to this Honoka person than what I have witnessed so far.'

"Release."

My transformation melted away, and I heard hushed whispers.

"Shi no ko."

'The child of death, ne?'

"My name is Tomiko, and I am here with a small group of rebels who have snuck into this camp. The entire rebel army is awaiting our signal before raining destruction upon Yagura's dogs."

There was shocked silence, but then a wild ferocity appeared on Honoka's face.

"Marvelous."

TLA

"What the hell brat!" Shishou screamed upon my entrance into the main tent. "What took you so long?!"

"I apologize Shishou," I said chuckling. "But I came across some interesting information."

"It better be interesting," he growled. "I almost sent Haku out to find you!"

"Thankfully I was able to persuade Zabuza-sama against it," Haku smiled. "If something went awry, I'm positive an alarm would have been raised by now."

"It is good to see you are well, Tomiko," Chōjūrō smiled.

I smiled back at him, "Thank you! But you'll never guess what I was able to discover!"

"What is it brat?" I had everyone's interest now.

"Among the shinobi here, there is a small anti-Yagura movement, and the commander I was planning to assassinate is the leader behind it!"

A shocked silence.

Peering outside of the tent, I could see Honoka approaching the final commander.

"Look, here she comes now!"

We all watched as Honoka sat beside the last commander, and began idle chit chat.

"Are you one-hundred percent positive she wasn't deceiving you, Tomiko?" Shishou asked.

"Two-hundred percent, Zabuza-shishou. I think everyone is going to be surprised."

Suddenly, the last commander went to attack Honoka, but she was much faster than him. Within moments she had unsheathed her sword and had it piercing through the man's chest. While the shinobi around them appeared too shocked to move, Honoka's appearance began to slowly melt away. What was first light auburn locks, now appeared as fiery red hair, and her dark green eyes melted away into dark eyes burning with fiery determination.

"My name is Honoka Uzumaki," she shouted. "And tonight, will mark the beginning of the end of Yagura's tyranny!"

The declaration seemed to get all of the Mist shinobi out of their stupor, as they began to launch their attacks at Honoka. As they approached into striking range, all motion appeared to stop as bright golden chains seemed to explode out of Honoka's chest, piercing through all of the shinobi who dared to approach.

"Holy shi—" Shishou began, but I took that moment to shunshin to Honoka's location.

I appeared in a swirl of mist.

"You really are Zabuza's apprentice, aren't you?"

I blushed, "I'll create my own variation of the body flicker eventually, okay?!"

She laughed. "Well I believe my job here is done, I think that leaves the rest to you!"

"You have got a lot of explaining to do later, brat," Shishou growled as everyone else appeared next to us.

"When this is all said and done," I laughed, slicing through my thumb. "Summoning Jutsu: Call of the Alpha!"

I slammed my hand on the ground, and we all went into the air as a large poof of smoke appeared.

"I have been awaiting your summons, Tomiko-chan." Daichi-jiji said in a booming voice.

Various forms of jutsu began launching towards him, but he just waved them off. "Thank you for your patience, Jiji! I got a little distracted, but I'm sure the rebels have already begun their approach!"

Just as I finished my sentence, we could see a large wave of lava crash through the south side of the camp.

"It appears so," he said with mirth. "But my job here is done, Katashi has informed me that he wishes for you to summon him once this is all said in done, or if you appear to be in danger. Is that understood?"

"Yes, Daichi-sama. Thank you for your assistance!"

"Of course, Tomiko-chan. Please be safe."

And with that, he desummoned himself back to Kumonosu Valley.

"Let's get this bloodbath started!" Shishou shouted after we landed back onto the ground.

Haku sighed, chasing after Zabuza. "Please do not act too hasty Zabuza-sama!"

"Be safe," Chōjūrō said to us. "I am going to assist Mei-sama!"

"You as well!" I waved him off.

"Well I don't think we should let that brute of a master of yours take all the fun, hmm?"

I laughed at Honoka as we ran towards the battle, "Good luck with that!"

"I suppose you are right," she said, ducking under a water whip. "He does seem to be enjoying himself."

Charging towards the enemy, I caught a wayward senbon and launched it back towards its owner, piercing it through her right eye socket.

In the distance, I could see a Mist shinobi attaching a note onto the leg of a hawk before releasing into the air.

"Honoka!" I yelled, running towards her and pointing towards the hawk flying through the air. "We can't let that hawk get away!"

She looked towards the hawk, and in a burst of light, the enemies around her were thrown away by golden chains. She then turned and smirked at me. "I hope you're not afraid of flying!" She shouted as one of her chains came flying towards me, wrapping itself around my small torso.

"Wait!" I started to shout in a panic. "That doesn't mean you should just chuck—!"

I heard her laughing as her chain spun and launched me through the air.

"Meeeee!"

Now flying through the air, I found myself quickly approaching the hawk from behind.

How hard did you throw me?!...I don't want to hurt you for doing your job though, little bird!

Placing a paralysis dart into my gauntlet's launcher, I shot it at the hawk and caught it as we both began our descent back towards the ground.

I've never tried landing on the ground from this height before, well at least going this fast. Here goes to not breaking both my legs!

As I prepared for landing, I was suddenly caught by two strong arms.

"Shishou!" I cheered. But he was glaring towards Honoka, who was just laughing while fighting back two enemies with her sword.

"Don't you ever throw me with your chains without warning again!" Shishou hollered at her.

"Would you have preferred your precious student becoming mush on the ground?" She purred back at him.

"I would have preferred a warning!" He growled back, placing me onto the ground. "Damn despicable woman."

"It's okay, Shishou," I patted his shoulder somberly. "She chucked me without warning as well."

"You can't just," he sighed. Blocking a kick with his hand, he threw the enemy onto the ground and stomped on his neck, crushing his trachea. Grabbing onto the now dead enemy's leg, he chucked the body at Honoka. "You can't just go chucking my student through the air either!"

"Did you just throw a dead person at me?!" She looked scandalized.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he was smirking. "Do you perhaps want a warning next time?"

As they continued their bickering, I noticed that some of the enemy started an attempt at retreating.

"Shishou, Honoka! If you'd both stop your flirting, some of them are trying to—!"

"We are not flirting!" They both shouted at the same time. I just gave them a blank stare while gesturing at the forms running into the forests.

They both noticed the retreating ninja and instantly gave chase.

"Look what you have caused," I heard Honoka saying. "Now they could get away!"

"Look at what I've caused?!" Shishou shouted. "You're the one chucking people around without warning!"

"How's this for a warning then!" She laughed, curling a chain around Zabuza's torso. "Go, fetch!"

"Don't you dare you damn—" Shishou disappeared into the trees, Honoka's laugh echoing through the silence.

"They certainly make an interesting pair," Haku said approaching me. "It also appears that the fighting is beginning to quiet down."

"I think they like each other," I laughed while turning towards Haku. "But I agree, I don't see any lava flying through the air either, so Mei must have finished by now."

"I cannot imagine anyone other than Zabuza being able to stand up to Mei," he nodded his head. "This camp stood no chance."

"Very true, Haku-nii," he smiled. "While we wait for them to return, I might as well summon Katashi-oji so the spiders will know everything is alright."

"I'm sure they'll be glad to know that you are okay."

We smiled at each other.

TLA

"Well I am glad to hear that everything went according to plan, Tomiko."

I gave Katashi a thumbs up from my seat on the ground. "Once the leaders were taken out, their chain of command would have been in complete disarray. I'm sure the confusion played a big part in our success, and Honoka sure was a big help as well!"

"That was a pleasant surprise indeed," Haku said. "Knowing that there are people on the inside willing to fight against Yagura."

"Corruption," Katashi began. "Will cause even the weakest amongst you to fight against it. Not many can stand by while the innocents are punished."

"It is why we fight."

We all turned to see Honoka and Zabuza making their way out of the woods.

"Yagura has stained the ground with the blood of the innocence for far too long," she continued to say. "It's about time to begin staining the ground with his."

Shishou smirked. "That's what I like to hear."

I squinted and looked between the two. "You guys are going to get married one day."

Silence.

"What?!"

"This damn woman—!"

"He's a brute who—!"

I raised an eyebrow.

Haku tilted his head.

I could hear Katashi give a knowing hum in the background.

"I could never marry!" They finished at the same time, glaring at each other.

"Riiiiight," I said. "Right. Well, I think we should probably look for Mei now, considering the attack is now over."

"Don't worry dear," I heard behind me. "I came looking for you instead."

Turning, I could see Mei approaching with Ao, Chōjūrō, and a small group of rebels. Though her attention was not on me, she was looking towards Honoka and Zabuza.

"Imagine my surprise," she smiled. "Seeing Mist shinobi fighting amongst each other, and learning that there was a small anti-Yagura movement amongst his most loyal forces."

Honoka and Zabuza now approached, stopping beside me.

"My name is Honoka Uzumaki," Honoka bowed. "I was, am, the leader of the small movement inside this camp."

"An Uzumaki," Mei whispered. "There were rumors amongst the mist saying that some of you escaped the destruction of Uzushiogakure, but they were difficult to believe considering that no one has witnessed seeing any of your clan since the Second Shinobi World War. Only Konoha's Red Hot-Blooded Habanero was believed to be the only surviving member of the clan, only to die in the nine-tails' attack."

"My family was not on the island when it was attacked during the Second World War," Honoka started. "I was born shortly before the end of the war, and when my parents heard of the destruction, we never returned. When I was fifteen, my family and I were discovered and my parents were killed. I was then captured and transported to an island inhabited by Land of Water scientists who were attempting to create the ultimate summoning beast. In order not to be harmed, I was told to use my fūinjutsu abilities to contain any monsters they created. Scared for my life, and hoping one day to escape, I obeyed."

"How did you escape?" I asked.

"The scientists created this disgusting beast," she looked into the distance, appearing to be lost in the memory. "It was, perhaps, a year after being on the island that they succeeded in creating it. It was a combination of multiple summoning creatures, but was truly an abomination. It broke out of my sealing technique, and began to kill the scientists. When I was the only one left, it turned to me, and I was so frightened I called for help. As ridiculous as it sounds, calling for help when you're the only one alive, I felt a comforting sensation come over me. Like my parents were there, hugging me, and telling me that it would be alright. That's when my chains, an Uzumaki trait, awakened. I was able to fight off the beast, and cast it into the island's volcano."

She smiled, placing her hand on her heart. "I really do think it was my parent's that awakened my kekkei genkai. Without them, I'm sure I would have perished along with the scientists on that island. But after the beast died, it was like the summoning creatures left on the island were delighted. Color me shocked though, when a giant bird picked me up and flew me off the island. When it dropped me off on the shoreline, I created a seal to keep me under a permanent henge, snuck into the Hidden Mist, and quickly made my way up the ranks."

"Your story inspires me, Honoka," Mei said. "I am glad that you were able to get off that island. The fact that you were also able to sneak into the Hidden Mist is also very impressive."

"Thank you, Mei-sama," she said bowing. "I, and my followers, would be honored to serve you and the rebel cause from this day forward."

"Please stand straight, Honoka," Mei said. "We are all equals on this day."

"On this day, yes," Honoka said. "But when Yagura falls, you will be hailed as the fifth Mizukage."

Mei smiled, and walked to Honoka, placing her hand on her shoulder. Ao and Chōjūrō were close behind her. "When Yagura falls, yes," she began. "But for now, we all stand together, as one. I, and the rest of the rebels, will be more than happy to have you and your men amongst us."

"The honor will be ours, Mei." They both smiled at each other.

"Tomiko," Katashi said. I turned my attention to him. "It appears that you are under safe keeping for now, I will return to the clan and let them know that all is well."

"Thank you, Katashi-oji! Please let everyone know that I will be making my decision soon as well!"

He seemed pleased. "As you wish, my dear," he then looked to Zabuza and Haku. "I hope for your continued victories and safe travels, please keep Tomiko safe."

Shishou tch'ed. "That's a given."

"Zabuza-sama!" Haku admonished. "I can't imagine doing anything less, Katashi-san, please give the spiders our well wishes."

Katashi seemed pleased with their answers, and then dispelled himself.

"Everyone!" Mei called, collecting everyone's attention. "Tonight, we celebrate a great victory for the rebels! May today mark the beginning of the ed of Yagura's reign, and tyranny over the Land of Water!"

We all cheered.

TLA

"So, I took his headband, sealed his body away, and did a transformation technique that the spider's taught me."

Honoka laughed. "I like you kid, are you sure you want to stay this brute's apprentice?"

"Back off, woman!" Shishou growled. "I already have to fight off that one, I don't want to have to fight off you as well!"

"Come now, Zabuza," Mei chimed in. "Tomiko-chan would be a wonderful student for anyone to have, besides, you have Haku-kun as well!"

"You're hoarding the younger generation all to yourself!" Honoka pouted.

"Tomiko is my apprentice you blasted women!" Shishou huffed. "Besides, Haku isn't my student."

"Oooh," Honoka and Mei said together. Mei continued, "Then what is he to you, Zabuza."

"He," Zabuza looked panicked, a slight blush to his cheeks. He then cleared his throat, "He's Haku."

I laughed. "We love you too, Shishou!" Haku nodded along.

"Brats!" Shishou growled.

"I am curious," Noboru said, putting our original topic back on hand. "Honoka-sama went to dispel your transformation, but it still held afterwards. How as that possible?"

"I was curious to that as well," Honoka chimed in, looking to be in thought. "I think it had to do with the hand signs, they were different than any other henge I have ever witnessed."

"The spiders told me that the one I was taught is different than the original henge," I shrugged. "I don't know how, but instead of an illusion, like most henges, the one I know creates an actual physical transformation."

"Oh," Honoka was interested. "So that's why you were not afraid of me touching you. It's like my transformation seal, very interesting indeed!"

I blushed. "Thank you very much."

"Mei," Shishou said seriously. "Our six months are up."

The atmosphere got serious.

"Six months?" Honoka asked.

"Yes," Mei said. "I asked Zabuza and his two students if they would volunteer with us for a six-month period, and in exchange I would assist them in getting out of The Land of Water. Upon the rebel victory, and once I am Mizukage, I will also pardon Zabuza. This will grant him free travel wherever he wishes, and as a token of gratitude, he will be able to keep the Executioner's Blade in his possession."

"Volunteer?" Shishou sneered. "More like voluntold. You threatened us otherwise."

"Like I would ever," Mei seemed appalled, "Ever hurt a hair on Tomiko's head."

I laughed.

She winked at me. "But yes Zabuza, your time is up. I was hoping that after the six months you'd be willing to stay a little longer, but a deal's a deal. Whenever you all decide you want to leave, let us know and we will assist you in leaving for the Land of Fire."

"We will stay until the end of the week," Shishou said decisively. "But that's just so we can rest up, and fill our supplies. No more missions."

Mei smiled. "Very well."

TLA

"I am very glad to have met when we did," Honoka said whilst giving me a hug. "I hope that we get to meet again, once this war is all said and done."

"Likewise," I said squeezing her back. "I am thankful for the teachings you have given me the last couple of days."

"You are an excellent student, my dear," she said pouting towards Zabuza and Mei. "Too bad you're already claimed."

I laughed at her pout. "Zabuza may be my master, but that doesn't stop me from having other teacher's, Honoka-sensei."

She beamed a smile at me. "I suppose you're right, my little student. Be sure to keep practicing, and you'll be a fūinjutsu master in no time!"

"Not a master, perhaps," I beamed back at her. "I hope to be adept, though!"

"I have no doubt that you will be."

"Alright, brats, it's time to go." Shishou said walking towards us.

"Shishou," I said tilting my head and pointing to where Haku was standing. "Haku is over there, why would you say brat plurally?"

"Because I'm looking at two brats, that's why."

Oh.

"I am not a brat, you brute of a man!" Honoka stomped towards Shishou.

He disinterestedly started picking at his ear. "You sure seem like one, you damned woman."

"Yep," I said popping the 'p'. "You two are definitely going to get married in the future."

"I would never—"

They started yelling at each other again.

"Tomiko," Haku said approaching, "Did you get them started again?"

"That I did," I said nodding my head. "That I did. They'll figure out they love each other. I just know it."

"If they don't kill each other first," Ao said approaching with Mei and Chōjūrō.

"Ao," Mei said darkly. "Shut up, or I'll kill you."

"But ma'am!"

"You three should take a look at this, before you leave," Chōjūrō said handing me a book. This caught Zabuza's attention and he stopped arguing with Honoka to come over. She followed and together with Haku, we looked at its pages.

"It's a bingo book for the Land of Water," Shishou said. "What pages?"

"Tomiko, open the book to page sixty-two," Chōjūrō stated.

Opening it to the desired page, I found a picture of Zabuza staring back at me. "Zabuza Momochi," I started to read. "Also known as 'Demon of the Hidden Mist.' Listed as a high A-rank threat. Current wielder of the Kubikiribōchō, and known master of the silent killing technique. Highly skilled in swordsmanship and water jutsu, it is recommended for anyone below jōnin to flee on sight. Jōnin are recommended to approach with caution. Bounty is listed at fifty million ryō, sixty million ryō if the Kubikiribōchō is also returned."

"An A-list threat?" Shishou growled. "I'll show them an A-list threat!"

"Zabuza-sama," Haku said dryly. "Being underestimated is not a bad thing."

"I deserve to have a flee on sight order!"

"Just turn the page, Tomiko," Honoka whispered to me. "Or else he's going to go on and on forever."

Laughing, I turned the page and saw myself and Haku. Though, the picture they had of me had my facial features obscured by my hood, and the picture of Haku was of him with his mask on. I read his entry first. "Yuki," I saw Haku flinch. "Name and age unknown. Known student of Zabuza Momochi (See Entry Sixty-Two) and member of the thought to be extinct Yuki Clan. List as a low B-rank threat. Highly skilled in the use of Ice Release, the known kekkei genkai of the Yuki Clan, and is adept at using one-handed signs. It is recommended for anyone below high-level chūnin to flee on sight. Anyone high level chūnin or above will be encouraged to capture alive. Bounty is listed at five million ryō."

"The good thing," I started. "Is that they only have a picture of you while wearing your mask."

"I guess," Haku said nervously. "But a B-list threat? I believe they are overestimating my abilities."

"Nonsense," Ao said, which is actually kind of shocking. "Do not doubt your abilities. You have grown much during these last six months. This is just showing you what you don't believe."

"What does it have on you, Tomiko?"

"Child of Death," I read. What a fancy moniker. "Name and age unknown. Known student of Zabuza Momochi. (See Entry Sixty-Two) Listed as a mid C-rank threat. Skilled in the use of swordsmanship, and has been viewed using both lightning and water release. It is recommended for anyone below mid-level chūnin to approach with caution. Anyone high level chūnin or above will be encouraged to capture alive. Bounty is listed at one million ryō."

"That's not too bad for a first-time bingo book listing!" Honoka patted my back.

"Only a mid-level C-rank threat?" I fake cried.

"They are surely underestimating you!" Haku tried to cheer me up. "They don't even have your summoning capabilities listed!"

"Your bounty is four million ryō higher than mine."

"Being underestimated is a good thing!" Chōjūrō attempted to add in.

"It says that anyone below mid-level chūnin should approach with caution." I threw the book away dramatically. "That means genin will try to capture me!"

"Then you will slaughter anyone who dares to try!" Shishou said heatedly. "How dare they think a measly genin could take on my apprentice!"

"Calm down mama bear," Honoka chuckled. "Tomiko isn't even being serious."

"Yeah Shishou," I said handing the book back to Chōjūrō. "Like I care about what some book says. Your opinion of my abilities is much more important!"

Shishou got red in the cheeks, and crossed his arms. "Whatever, brat."

"You will need to tread with caution now," Mei said. "Just because you are listed in a bingo book strictly made for the Land of Water, does not mean that people outside of the country will not get their hands on one. Bounty hunters will familiarize themselves with any new entries."

"Thank you for your concern, Mei," I smiled at her. I gave her a thumbs up. "But Zabuza-shishou, Haku-nii, and I have always lived cautiously. This will be no different!"

"As long as you stay safe out there, kid," Honoka put her arm around my shoulders. "But now that you have had your warning, I think it's about time to get you three out of this lousy place, ne?"

"It is," Shishou sighed. "Six months here has been far too long."

'Now that I think about it…' "Shishou," he looked towards me, tilting his head. "In one month, it will have been a year."

His eyes widened, and I heard Haku gasp. The rest of the group looked curious as Shishou placed his arm around my shoulders, guiding me onto the ship.

"I suppose it will, be brat," he sounded sad. "I suppose it will be."

Author's Notes:

It has been almost three years, and I have only posted ten chapters. Pathetic really, I do not have many words for that. I have lost a little bit of fire, or a lot of bit of fire? Probably the later, while writing this chapter. I do not know why it was so difficult to write. My husband thinks I should write an outline for the rest of the story, instead of just writing in the moment like I usually do. But if writing out a chapter takes so long, how long is it going to take me to write out an outline and go from there? Hmm. BUT ON A SIDE NOT, once I get into the next chapter we will finally be getting into village life! So that's exciting, right? Maybe. If you're reading this, I hope you have been somewhat, even if by a little bit, enjoying the story so far. Let's hope that we're not all fifty by the time I post the next chapter.

Until next time!
