A/N: OMG HEY GUYS. GUESS WHO'S BACK
I'm so sorry... it's just that I passed the exam transferred to this school with a high academic curriculum, different from normal schools. It's a Regional school and has a great position representing our province for the whole region of our country, so I had to take a looooong break from all my social media accounts. Finalas are coming up but as a gift to all who actually read the story, I'm gonna try to continue it and yes, try to also continue the next part because this story was originally supposed to be two books.
This is just a crappy filler chapter for you all. I'll try to post another chapter tomorrow~
Rooka was getting on my nerves.
We were training outside, and the sun just had to shine so bright today deciding to radiate more than the usual heat we feel everyday. We haven't even finished that much warming up and I'm already sweating like a dog.
Rooka though, was screeching like a little kid. Seriously, why did she even list for training. This was voluntary anyway. She could have just stayed with her make-up set and nail polishes at home, and her supposed 'boyfriend' (she says he doesn't confirm it, but she know's its true "LOVE") named Ryan. Surprisingly, she opens up real well for a straight up pain in the ass.
"Hey," I heard a familiar voice beside me. Jaydyn sat down by the grass while I was still in my kneeling position. "What's with you and your deep thoughts?"
"Just used to it I guess..."
"Rooka is the bitchiest person I have ever met in my whole entire life, I swear I could just wring her neck and hang her to a tree."
"Be careful what you wosh for," is the only thing I reply.
General Ivy called as back in to fall in line.
"Alright punks, since you keep on complaining about the scorching heat, let's take things in a nicer shade shall we?"
I could hear distinct sighs of relief and chatters of joy from afar.
"We're taking things straight to the forest," General Ivy finishes.
Ah, the forest... I've been staying and training in Creta for almost four months now and every Friday night, the girls are allowed to sleep in the second floor lobby. I feel like a kid everytime. And it feels nice to be surrounded by girls who, you know, you don't have to fight over the same guy. Fluorine tells stories about the forest every sleepover night. Headless men, a crying girl with no legs, blood trails leading to a silent beast living in a cave, and so much more.
It's morning, but like me, the other trainees aren't happy to step foot in the forest.
We had no choice though, general's orders. What I didn't really like about this training segment is that out of all people I had to be paired up with... guess who? Rooka Spice.
Over the last four months of my stay, and after my incident with Gemma, I learned how to fight back, literally. As Rooka shuffled next to me while trying to overact being disgusted, I pretended to accidentally step on her foot.
"Ow! Dammit Singer, those were new shoes!" Who has the effort to order shoes in the middle of training?
"Sorry." Not.
She pushed me back which sent me to a nearby tree. I charged at her and gave her a more powerful push which made her fall.
We continued roughhousing for a couple of minutes. We haven't even noticed that the other trainees began watching us like an entertainment show.
For the finishing touches, because Rooka was an asshole, I clawed my nails, sharp by the way, on her right cheek.
"Singer this is your fault!"
"Well if haven't been an ignorant little princess ever since you were born then maybe people would actually like you, not your cleavage."
I wasn't able to completely claw her face. General Ivy lifted my hand up and we were separated by a group of BETAs. As punishment, we were sent to do the mission in the forest while in handcuffs with my partner, while the others just spared among the trees.
"Ow, Rooka walk properly!"
"Who cares?"
"I care, because I don't want to get stuck in this place with you!"
We needed to find a rubber tree and get a bucket full of sap. I didn't know what the tree looks like but they said it was the only tree with an attached faucet.
"Okay look Spice, if you aren't gonna comply, let's be honest with each other. I don't like you, you don't like me, but her we're handcuffed and stuck too. We could get lost in this forest for days and still feel miserable while waiting for a back-up team because we're with each other. Let's just cooperate with our differences for once so I could never be this close to you again?"
"Mmm kay."
Mmm kay. That's all she has to say?
I didn't take anymore of her shit and partially dragged her along with me.
"Of all the things in the world, why a rubber tree?" I complained.
"Just get on with it and we can go Singer."
"Well then help me so we can find it faster!"
"What if I don't want to?"
Our bickering continued as we walked around the forest. We could get lost but I wouldn't care less. This girl has a big and sassy mouth, you could fit your whole fist in it. My legs felt week and I just suddenly dropped on the ground which also made Rooka go down with me.
"It's almost lunch time and we haven't gotten the stupid sap," she said.
'Well if you actually tried to look for it or even try to help me, maybe we would be done by now."
"Shut up Singer, you know you're no better than I am. You don't go down with out a fight. It was you who made the argument a lot more steamy anyway."
I wanted to say something, lash her out, but then realized she was right. I just sighed heavily and sat down in silence.
I swear the silence between us was not awkward but surprisingly... pleasant. Like a friend's aura of comfort.
"I hope you get an ALPHA title," I heard her say.
"Wait what?"
"Ugh, you heard me Singer, I think you actually deserve an ALPHA title..."
"Wow Rooka," I had nothing left to say. "That was the nicest thing you said to me..."
Silence enveloped us once again. This time I was the one who tried to break the ice.
"What branch are you planning to join in?"
"I wish I could go GAMMA. I may not look like it but i actually like weaponry. Not making it, but just studying the materials in it. What makes it better than the other weapons we have, how we can improve the models, the tolerance of it during battles. My mother wants me to go to DELTA, but I'm not a fighter."
I smiled at her. Maybe not everything was so bad about Rooka Spice. Everyone has a soft side once in a while.
"I think GAMMAs gonna love to have you with them. Look, I don't really like you that much but I'm honest when I compliment people..."
"Thanks..."
I stood up and pulled her up with me. We decided to go back to camp. When we reached the clearing, I suddenly laughed.
"What's wrong?"
"You know, sometimes, the things we need were always there all the time, we just don't see them because we're to attached to things we don't really need to do."
The rubber tree was right in front of us the whole entire time.
