A/N - I own nothing.
This chapter is not perfect to what I was hoping, but it's been a while and I wanted to get something out.
For the guest review stating that Hermione is suppose to be a brave girl not a coward running away - I want you to honestly consider the situation. You've just tried it on with someone and they've moved away from you as though they don't want you. Who wouldn't be completely mortified by their actions and embarrassed? Clearly you don't like the way I'm writing Hermione, so feel free to read something else where Hermione is more to your expectations. There are so many other stories for you to find something more suitable.
Also, just a note to tell you that real life comes before writing. The chapters might not be every week, they might not be long enough, but I'm doing my best to get them out as soon as possible.
Sirius checked Hermione's room again, hoping to see her walk from the bathroom as though she hadn't just disappeared, but there was no sign of her. He ran to the fire and grabbed for the floo powder, knocking the pot onto the floor, where it smashed.
Ignoring the shards of glass, he scooped up the powder and threw it down, calling out Harry's address, hoping that she had gone there. He assumed she would either go to Ginny, Tonks or to Fleur, and he had already seen she wasn't as the Lupin's home, so Harry's was the most likely.
He found himself falling out of the fireplace, into Harry's sitting room.
"Hermione?" He called, and Harry rushed into the room, looking angry.
"What did you do to her?" He asked, glaring at Sirius.
Sirius groaned. "I did nothing I swear, she tried to kiss me and I stopped her, and I'm pretty sure I've hurt her feelings over a massive misunderstanding."
Harry froze. "You turned her down?" he asked, disbelievingly.
Sirius nodded.
"Why? What's wrong with her? Ginny snapped, from the doorway.
"I care for her - deeply, but I handled the situation badly," Sirius explained. I went to see Remus and Tonks for advice and she explained how Hermione would have felt after how I acted. I didn't realise it was like that. When I got back, I went to talk to her, but her rooms empty."
Harry stood aside. "Kitchen. She's in tears, you need to make this right."
"He can't, she made me promise not to let him through," Ginny said, blocking the doorway.
"Please Ginny, I need to see her," Sirius asked.
"No. Tell me, and I'll tell her," Ginny said, firmly, and Sirius ran his hand through his long hair.
"Fine," he snapped, and took a breath. "I pulled away because I was scared. Dear Gods, I haven't been with a women since I was twenty-one, if you must know. Since I've come out of Azkaban, I've barely left that place, and now I might have lost someone who means more to me than anything and I can't lose her. It's not love, it's not that easy for me to just fall in love, but it's strong and the thought of losing her is more than I can bear!"
Ginny stared at him.
"I thought I wasn't good enough. Look at me! But she looked past this... this broken man and still wanted me, and I may not be good enough but I'm a bigger fool to turn her down. Any man would be lucky to have her, and if by some bloody miracle she's picked me over all the men that must be fighting to get to her... I thought I was doing the right thing, because I thought she'd regret it afterwards, but I've been set straight. I need her, please let me through."
Ginny started shaking her head, "I'll go speak-"
"It's okay, I'll speak with him," came a soft voice from behind Ginny, and Ginny and Harry quickly left the room, allowing Hermione and Sirius privacy.
Sirius watched Hermione walk in the room, noticing her patchy face and red eyes. It was clear the girl had been crying. She kept her arms folded as she walked, not looking at him.
"Hermione, love, I'm so sorry. Please come home with me."
He watched Hermione take a seat, and quickly sat next to her, taking her hands in his own.
"I can't be without you, just those few minutes you had gone, the house seemed so empty. I know that sounds like I just want company, but I don't want anyone else there, just you. Only you. I was scared, Hermione, I didn't understand why you wanted me, I was worried that you'd realise that I'm broken and old and not worth it, and that you'd regret it afterwards, and I wanted to be a gentleman and Merlin knows it took all my self-restraint to pull myself away."
Hermione kept her gaze on the floor in front of her.
"Tonks wasn't impressed at my behaviour - she told me that my actions most likely made you feel unwanted. That's not true, in fact there is nothing I want more than you Hermione, I swear."
He slid off the chair, so he was on his knees on the floor in front of her, trying to catch her gaze, and he kept her hands tightly in his.
"Please love, you mean so much to me."
"How do you feel about me?" Hermione whispered.
"I'm not going to lie, kitten, I'm not even sure myself, but what I feel for you, it's real, it's strong, I want to be with you more than anything. I won't lie about how I feel, I just need to work out what these feelings mean. I know for sure that I want you. You mean more to me than any girl ever has before."
Hermione finally looked at him.
"Please love, come home with me?" he begged. "Please."
Hermione nodded, and he lifted himself on his knees and wrapped his arms around her, he breathed a sigh of relief when her arms slid around him and held him tight.
"Lets go," he whispered, and Hermione turned to see Harry and Ginny in the doorway.
"I'll grab her stuff," Harry said, and disappeared from view.
Minutes later he returned with a small suitcase full of Hermione's shrunken items. Sirius grabbed the bag, and Hermione led them to the floo.
She stepped in first, and once she was out of sight, Harry grabbed his arm.
"Don't you dare hurt her again," Harry warned.
"I won't," Sirius confirmed, and smiled at Harry and Ginny, who both smiled back.
The first thing Sirius done was put Hermione's suitcase in the hallway between their rooms. He wanted her in his room from now on, but didn't know her feelings, it would be something they could possibly discuss. When he returned downstairs, he found Hermione making them breakfast. They ate in silence, both glancing at each other nervously.
"Kitten... Hermione. What do you want from me? Do you want us to pretend last night didn't happen or do you want us to try that again - do you want there to be an us?"
Hermione hesitated, unsure what Sirius wanted.
"Why did you pull away Sirius?"
"Because I'm not good enough for you. For fear of sounding like Remus, I'm a mess, I'm so much older than you, and I was scared."
"Forget all that Sirius, just you and me - do you want me or not?" Hermione asked, nervously.
"Yes," he admitted, without pause.
"That's all there is to it," Hermione said, her tone, relieved. "Everyone thought me and Ron well suited and look what happened."
"He was never good enough for you," growled Sirius.
"You'd never hurt me like that, that's all I ask."
"I'd never hurt you, love."
Hermione looked at him nervously. "I'm feeling a bit drained, do you think we could lay down together?"
Sirius grinned and took her hand and led her up the stairs. He watched her grab her case and walk into her own room with it, commenting on changing into something comfortable. He felt slightly disappointed that she didn't even waver for a moment before taking the bag in. Maybe he'd give her time to adjust to being back and the relationship they were hopefully heading towards, before asking her.
He quickly changed into some pyjama bottoms and waited.
He lay on the bed and watched Hermione come in, she climbed into his arms and wrapped herself around him. They lay in silence for a while.
He felt her hands trailing over his chest again, over his tattoos and he smiled at her. He rolled onto his side so they were facing and she continued touching his chest.
She brought her gaze up again, and this time Sirius knew he had to be the one to make the move. He slowly brought his mouth down towards hers. "I haven't kissed or been with anyone in years, forgive me if it's not what you expect," he whispered as his lips finally met hers.
He moved his lips skilfully against hers, nipping her lip slightly before letting his tongue stroke across her mouth and slowly tease its way past her lips and into her mouth. He listened to her moan in his mouth and knew his body was reacting to her. Too soon he felt himself pull away.
Hermione looked at him with shock. "That was... do we have to stop?"
Sirius smirked. "I'm afraid so, Kitten, there's no food in the house, and once we start, we're not stopping until we pass out from exhaustion. I suggest we get everything else out-of-the-way.
Hermione huffed, and pulled out of his arms, getting off the bed.
"Where are you going, love?"
"To get everything done, if we start now, we can pick this back up."
Sirius grinned, and got up. He liked her way of thinking.
...oOo...
They didn't get back until lunchtime and Hermione made them lunch. Sirius found himself very out of practice around the whole flirting thing, but was enjoying the shy glances that Hermione was giving him.
"So I heard about you having a little crush on me when you were younger?" He teased.
Hermione blushed and looked away, and he came up behind her as she put the plates in the sink, and wrapped his arms around her waist and placed a rough kiss on her neck, which brought out a gasp from her.
Sirius felt her lean against him as she tilted her head to give him better access.
"You taste really good," he said in between kisses.
"Can we go to bed now," she whimpered, his mouth making her knees weak.
He brought his hands down and gripped her waist and pulled her flush against him, allowing his lips to move up her neck and to nibble on her ear.
"You coming then?" He whispered, letting go and walking out of the room.
Another cliffhanger. I wasn't planning on one, but a review from yesterday, made me want to put this chapter out unfinished, so this is just the first part, I will work on the next part and let you have it when it's ready. It's partially written so it shouldn't take too long hopefully.
Review please.

Also didn't want to do the whole 'I'm suddenly in love with you' thing. I thought that Sirius should be uncertain about his feelings, because of his perception of himself and how his life has been since he was 21. Plus he's not going to lie to Hermione about his feelings.
He's falling for her, but he's not in love with her... yet.
