Lieutenant Girard muttered a curse under his breath as he fingerprinted an unwelcome face. Only two years since the war had ended and there was still plenty of people that attempted to illegally salvage reaper tech. People like the man in front of him. The criminal in question was a human male, covered in a few scars and wearing an ugly leather ensemble. A man that continued to protest his innocence.

"I'm telling you, I ain't got nothing to do with the salvage op on Bekenstein." the man said with a huff.

"So you keep saying." Girard said with a dismissive sniff. "However, your ship was registered as going there two weeks ago and we found contraband in your personal things."

"It's just a gram of red sand!" the man exclaimed. "It takes the edge off, helps me forget some of the shit I saw during the war man..."

"Uh-huh."

"I'm legit okay? So... maybe I was at Bekenstein a few weeks ago, but it was all legit! I'm a dockworker now, that's all Been one since '84, honest!"

Girard finished stamping the papers and pointed the criminal to the door. "You can collect your personal effects minus the red sand through there, but rest assured, you are on our watch list again. Fist."

The one time owner of Chora's den sneered at the lieutenant but said nothing in reply, clearly anxious to get on with his day.

Hey all! Yes, this is in fact an update! My sincere apologies to anyone following this fic or my other Mass Effect Fic; Life has been busy the past couple months and I've just had to focus on offline things more to keep my head on straight. I have plans to finish this fic though, so expect updates to start coming more frequently. My thanks to those who have rated and reviewed. Chiefly Daedalus30185 & 570K4. Concerning the latter, I have gone ahead and taken your suggestion and made the dialogue in this chapter easier to differentiate. Also, to new readers and old, as I mentioned in the foreword, I plan to utilize every minor character that I can. If there is a particular character or characters that I have not yet gotten to that you would like to see, please go ahead and leave a review or send me a PM asking for that character.
