Hey! So yeah it's been a while (again) and as usual i'm really really sorry! I'm going to try and write another chapter again today and update later but I'm also writing my other fic 'Halloween' so apologies if I don't get round to it. Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter, I'm trying to get the next few written quickly so I can get to the exciting bits again! :D
As he quickly thrusted the car into gear and violently pushed his right foot down on the excelerator he dialled Sacha's number, tapped the 'loud speaker' function and chucked the phone onto the dashboard in front of him as he gained control of the car round a corner.
"Sacha it's Jonny!...Jac's gone AWOL, I went round to her flat and used my key to get in and it was completely empty!" He babbled anxiously as he drove manically round the streets of Holby, not paying attention to the traffic around him.
In the middle of the conversation Sacha stopped suddenly as he felt a vibration in his pocket and pulled out his mobile phone, noting the identity of the caller. Jac watched as his eyes widened dramatically in response to the unknown caller, he then broke into a smile and shook his head slightly,
"Jonny." He spoke calmly and realised Jac's shock and surprise at this revelation.
He continued panicking as he narrowly avoided hitting a lorry coming from the other direction by swerving in an out of control fashion to the side of the road,
"Oh god what if she's done something stupid? Sacha we need to find her!"
Sacha stood up from the bench and walked off slightly so he was just out of Jac's earshot and spoke loudly to gain the worried nurses attention but not so loud as to alert Jac of what was happening,
"Jonny! She's with me, we're in the park having a chat about things, I thought after what you'd told me earlier she might need a friend."
"Oh thank Christ! Is she ok? Can I come down?" Jonny pulled over quickly on the side of the road, earning some harsh words from fellow drivers, as he breathed a huge sigh of relief. Sacha looked over at his friend who was watching him with a baffled expression and laughed slightly as he could see she was slowly regaining her 'Naylor-ish' characteristics.
"Yeah she's fine, um...you can come down but give me half an hour and don't expect too much" he warned the nurse quietly as he wondered how badly she would react to seeing him.
"What do you-...Never mind, I'll come down in a bit then, where are you?"
"We're on a bench in the far side of the park..near the pond" he explained quickly as as Jac started walking towards him.
"Aye alright then, and um..thanks Sacha." His voice broke slightly at the end as his eyes began to fill with tears of joy at the thought of getting Jac- his life- back.
"No problem" he tried, in a rush to wrap up the conversation to avoid the 'Naylor-wrath', "Bye." He hung up and placed his phone firmly back in his coat pocket as he smiled hopefully at her.
"What was that?" She requested sternly as Sacha lead her back to the bench they had strayed from. He sat down and ran his hands over his short hair as he contemplated where to begin.
"Ummm...well, I- he just-"
"Sacha! What did he want!?" He obviously knew who she meant by 'him' but behind the anger she was presenting before him he also noted the sense of fear showing through her sparkling eyes.
"Okay, Jac, just..calm down a minute." She glared back at him with wide eyes,
"Calm down? Calm down!? Sacha! You don't understand how much I...he...please" her face softened slightly as she pleaded with him, leaving him to wrap his arm around her shoulders, although she tried intently to remove it.
"I don't understand why you're so intent on avoiding and ignoring him. He phoned me because he went round your flat and panicked that you'd done something stupid when he realised you weren't there." He mouth dropped open slightly as she pondered over what her best friend had just said. Realising he was finally beggining to get through to her, he continued, "He really cares about you Jac, he's been doing everything to try and get through to you these past few weeks you know." She smiled and regretful smile back at him as she concluded how stupid she had been acting and nodded happily as Sacha added, "You two are made for each other...you know that?"
He jolted his battered car back into gear again as he drove away from the incredibly unorthodox parking space of a curb and drove a few yards down the road until he reached a conveniently placed pub car park where he pulled in and retrieved his mobile, before dialing his best friend's number.
"Mo? Help!" He practically shouted in his emotionally unstable state,
"Jonny Mac? What's happened!?" she sounded extremely concerned on the other end as she leapt up off her sofa.
"It's Jac! Sacha's got her out of the flat and I'm going down there in like twenty minutes to talk to her! What do I say to her?"
"What the hell Maconie? I thought you were in serious trouble!" She screeched as she sat back down slowly in her flat, holding her hand over her racing chest. "What do you mean 'what do you say'? Just try and find out what's going on her messed up head!" Mo was obviously irritated and lacking highly in sympathy at Jac's recent behaviour but for good reason, she had watched her best friend fall apart and had to pick up countless times because of her.
"Mo, I know what you think of her but seriously, I have to get through to her and I can't do it without you." He bit his lip hard as he tried to ignore the guilt niggling away at the back of his mind for what he'd been putting his friend through.
She sighed in exhaustion and slammed the phone down on him in anger, 'didn't he realise the problem here?'
"Mo?...Mo!...Oh for god's sake Mo!" He realised she'd gone and threw his phone on to the seat next to him in anger. 'Great! Now I've got to talk another woman round!'
Suddenly her smile faded as she bowed her head and ran her hands through her wavy, tangled hair, "Sacha...what do I do?" He obviously knew what she meant without any sort of further explanation but let her continue, just to try and get something out of her. "I've been such a bitch to him...how do I..how do I even begin to try and redeem myself?"
