Arthur and the big mayor election
Frank Porter is now on trial for his crimes. It is a federal case because he is a wanted man in seven states. The opening arguements of that case. That case is a big one. It could send him to prison for the rest of his life. The DA is going first of course. That is the way it goes in court casses. That DA is a tough one. He is one of the best DA's of the nation. The trial will be on TV so people can watch it in their houses. Arthur and them are there in person. To watch that trial right there.
"You may all be seated," said the judge, "The case of the United States vs. Frank Porter has come to order."
"Time to start now," said the DA, "That man Frank Porter had sex with minors and didn't pay his taxes. He is guilty on all charges against him. Find him guilty. That evidence proves he did them. Thank you."
"Your turn now," said the judge, "This trial might go faster as planned by the way things are going."
"Thanks your honor," said the defense attorney, "That man didn't do them crimes. He just doesn't like children because they bug him so he didn't have sex with them and he paid his taxes on time. Thank you."
"That is all we have for the day," said the judge, "Until tomorrow that is in fact."
Arthur and them are talking about that case now. They know what the DA said is very true. They know the United States has a strong case against Frank Porter. He could face up to life in prison without parole. They are talking about who the main witness for the United States. It is one of them in fact. It is a female from the group. So yes it is a girl in fact.
"He did it i am sure," said Arthur, "Are you ready to take the stand tomorrow Ladonna?"
"I think he did," said Ladonna, "In fact i saw him do it cross my heart."
"She will help i am sure," said Fern, "Ladonna saw everything in fact."
"Yes of course," said Bud, "She was there at the time."
