Chapter 10

Marron had ran across the city, breathing heavily and desperately looking for Trunks.

"Trunks!? Where have you gone?" she screamed out of the top of her lungs.

Her eyes darted from one place to another until she collapsed on the grass, her legs sore.

"Why Trunks? Why?" she cried.

"Finally, he lost sight of me, phew." 17 hid in an abandoned building as Gohan searched for him outside.

17 looked down as he started thinking about Trunks.

"Trunks, I love you."

Marron's figure then flashed through 17's mind.

"That girl . . . if she is engaged to Trunks . . . "

Tears streamed down his cheeks.

"Then I should leave them alone . . . "

17's heart started to break.

"It's the only way . . . if I love something . . . I have to let it go . . . right?"

"Damn it, he got away . . . !" Gohan frowned as he flew off into the air.

"If I want 17, then I'll have to fight Trunks . . . which means that I'll be the enemy . . . so . . . "

"Does that mean I'm the evil guy?" Gohan tilted his head.

"Hmmm . . . "

Gohan's thoughts were interrupted as another head bonked together with his.

"Geh!" the black haired warrior rubbed his head.

"Watch where you are going!"

Gohan looked up to find the lavender head rubbing his forehead which was now red as beet.

"Trunks? What are you doing here?"

"I should be asking you the same thing."

Gohan crossed his arms.

"I was just strolling around." he lied.

Trunks didn't feel so secure about Gohan's reply, but he trusted him.

"I'm looking for 17, have you seen him?"

"17?"

"Yeah, have you seen him?"

Gohan stood there, his arms crossed as silence took over the atmosphere.

Trunks stood there, waiting for an answer.

"Should I tell him? I mean, I am going after 17 as well."

Trunks gave Gohan an impatient look, "Well?"

Gohan looked up at Trunks.

"I shouldn't."

"No Trunks, I haven't seen 17."

Trunks frowned at his master and approached him, "I feel like if you were lying to me Gohan."

Gohan's eyes widened.

Trunks grabbed Gohan's shirt by the collar, pulling him closer to himself.

"Tell me the truth, where is he?"

A cascade of sweat dropped from Gohan's forehead, "Well . . . I . . . "

"Well what?!" Trunks thundered, his eyes on fire as he had not much patience.

"I haven't!"

"You're lying! You're hiding 17 somewhere aren't you?!"

"What the hell? I'm not!"

"Then tell me where the fuck he is!" Trunks' other fist started to flood with his blood.

"Trunks, you're bleeding."

"Don't try and change the subject! Where's 17?!" Trunks yelled with lots of frustration.

"I don't know!" Gohan lied once again.

Trunks' body started to tremble as he bit his lip, letting go of Gohan's shirt.

"You are feeding the fire!" Trunks yelled as he turned super saiyan.

Gohan's eyes widened as Trunks' foot jammed against his cheek, causing him to loose his flight pattern. Trunks then kneed Gohan in the gut, followed by an elbow in the back. Gohan coughed out some blood, Trunks' hand turning to a fist, sending him flying down towards a boulder. Gohan, unable to react, broke through the boulder with his back, sliding down onto the ground at the end. The lavendar haired warrior then flew down at Gohan top speed.

"Gohan! Hurry up . . . this is no time to play arou-"

Gohan's thoughts were cut short as Trunks' grasped his neck, his other hand dedicated to punching him again, "Tell me where he is! I have no time to play your games!"

"I don't know where he is Trunks, really . . . !"

Trunks' fist shook.

Gohan smirked, "Besides . . . you have no potential to hit your own master do you?"

Trunks growled as his fist raced towards Gohan's face.

"This is it!" Gohan closed his eyes tightly, waiting for the overpowered warrior's hand to meet it's destination.

BAM!

Gohan opened his eyes, finding Trunks' hand on the ground, not far from his cheek.

"I knew you wouldn't Trunks."

"Shut up!" Trunks looked as if he were listening for something.

Gohan looked puzzled.

"Do you hear that? Someone's screaming."

Gohan listened carefully, his nose picking up some kind of scent. "I do."

"And it smells like if something were burning too . . . !"

Trunks' eyes widened as he got up and flew away quickly.

"H-Hey! Where are you going?" Gohan followed him.

Trunks' golden hair rode through the air, his green eyes focusing and searching for a burning building.

"Trunks wait up!" Gohan followed from behind, not able to catch up.

"Damn he's fast!"

Trunks searched around until his eyes landed upon an orange cascade of fire.

"There!" he yelled as he flew down.

"Wait I said!" Gohan yelled.

Trunks landed near the building.

A familiar cry filled his eardrums, casing the warrior's eyes to widen.

A mix of coughing and crying came from inside the burning bricks.

"17! I'm coming!" Trunks ran over.

"Wait! Trunks! You can't do this alone!" Gohan's feet touched the ground as he followed the warrior.

"17, the love of my life, in danger! No! I won't let this happen!"

Trunks threw some ki blasts towards the shield of fire, plucking a hole into the bricks in which he will enter.

"17! I won't let anything happen to you!" Trunks yelled as he ran inside.

"Trunks!" Gohan screamed from outside.

"Nothing will stop me from getting you out 17! Nothing! I don't care in how much danger I put myself into, but as long as you're ok, I can live with it."

A tear ran down Trunks' cheek as his hands battled against the fire.

"I'm coming 17!"
