Hey guys, I am not dead, repeat I am not dead!
It's spring break, whoooop! Even though it's almost over (sadly) I'm feeling really creative, so hopefully I'll be able to update this story a lot tonight! Let's hope anyway, yeah? Ehehe…
Again! So sorry for the wait, but here is another chapter for you lovely readers!
Also, I have decided this is NOT going to be a yaoi, just a fluff, so sorry if you were waiting for that (yeah I know I know, but I'll make it up to you!)
Warning: Triggers, just prepare yourself for anything.
Disclaimers: …. No owning of anything except for the idea. That is all, okay? Leave me alone…
Your name is Yugi Moto, and right now you're scared, unsure, and nervous. But right now, you might have a small glimmer of hope in this suffering dark void; and that's what you're going to grab for.
You've been sitting in this lawyer's office for quite some time now, you've simply lost count. You've stopped trying to count the minutes and attempt to listen to the lawyer in front of you explain the details on how this court session was going to go down.
You really didn't care; you honestly didn't want to sue HIM in the first place. It actually took both Yami and Joey's convincing to bring forth charges. But after realizing you can put HIM in prison for all the shit he's done to you, you've started to warm up to the idea immensely.
And of course, Yami has been with you this entire time, hardly ever leaving your side, not like it bothered you. You felt safe, or safer, around Yami than you had anybody else.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?" The lawyer suddenly says, causing you to be rudely shaken out of your thoughts. Sheepishly, you rub the back of your head.
"Yes, I have been listening to you, Officer." You reply, causing the cop to roll his eyes and run fingers through his hair.
"Mr. Moto, please, try to cooperate here. We're trying to send this guy to jail, but we need your full story to know exactly what he has done to deserve going to jail, and we're going to need proof." The lawyer starts to explain, causing you to pale.
"Oh no, no no I can't talk about what he's done! I can't do that to complete strangers!" You exclaim, causing the lawyer to look up at you in surprised shock.
"Mr. Moto… Try to understand your situation here. We're trying to help you, so please, calm down." The lawyer demands, and you try taking deep breaths, but nothing is working. You're too frightened about remembering. You just want to forget. Why wasn't anybody letting you forget what that BASTARD put you though?! Why did they all want you to suffer through these memories? Didn't they understand how terrible it was just to live through them, but then to go back and relive them?!
You were done; you were so fucking done with these god damn people who just wanted you to suffer even more. You were just done with this fucking suing business; you didn't really care as long as the basted went to prison. That's all you fucking wanted, not to be forced into reliving events of the past.
Why was everybody doing this to you?
"Yugi, hey Yugi, buddy, deep breaths pal, c'mon." You heard Joey's voice sooth you out of your mini rant. You do as you're told and now you start to feel calmer. You turn your head to the side to see Joey softly grinning at you.
"Hey bud, how are thing holdin' up here?" Joey says, waving at the lawyer, who nods politely back.
"It's, uh, been kind of busy." You admit, feeling slightly embarrassed when you realized Joey had just walked in on you and your lawyer talking about what you were going to say when you were a witness on the stand.
"Was I uh, interruptin' somethin'?" He asked, and you sadly nod. The lawyer sighs and stands.
"Actually, why don't we call a quits today, Mr. Moto, we'll pick up at the same time tomorrow. Have a good rest of the afternoon." The lawyer says, stands, and shakes your hand. You shake theirs, and force a polite smile on your face.
"Thank you for your time." You reply, and they nod politely back at you.
When you are out of the building, you begin to relax. Joey noticed and chuckles.
"How back is it in there?" He asked, causing you to groan out your annoyance.
"It's terrible! They keep saying to relive your past, but I thought this was going to help me get over it!" You exclaim, pulling at your hair in frustration.
"I swear they're just doing this for the money."
"Yeah, probably; but we can get that stupid bastard behind bars, it's worth it, no?" Joey asks me, and I nod slowly.
Yes, this wasn't all for nothing. This had a reason, to get HIM behind bars where he wouldn't be able to get near you ever again. You just had to be strong, no matter how annoying those stupid lawyers got.
"Anyways, I'm starved! You wanna grab a bite to eat?" Joey asks, to which you eagerly agree. That lawyer you were meeting with before Joey saved you had kept you in there for a good long while, and you hadn't eaten breakfast, thinking that you'd be fine.
You were wrong.
You were so wrong.
Joey unlocked his care, in which you got into the passenger's seat and waited for him to get into the driver's. When he did, he locked the doors, buckled up, and soon you and Joey were driving to your favorite burger joint.
"How are things with Mai?" You find yourself asking, causing Joey to blush.
"Things are goin' pretty good with here. I think I might marry dis woman." He admits, to which you smile and gently punch his arm.
"Whatever happens, I'll support you all the way through it." You say, causing your friend to smile and ruffle your hair.
"How did I ever get so lucky to have a friend like you?" He wonders, causing you to smile softly. You were glad Joey called you a good friend, it really meant a lot. It showed that not everybody thought of you as useless or didn't have a purpose. It was nice knowing you were loved.
On the way home, after stuff your faces with burgers, Joey pulled up to the curb on your and Yami's house. Joey turns to you, suddenly getting serious.
"Yug, if you ever need anything—"
"—You'll certainly be the first I call, okay?" You cut him off, grinning at him. He flashes you a smile, and unlocks the doors.
"Be safe now!" He calls after you as you hope out of the car. You nod and wave at him, and turn to walk into your house. You liked the feeling of normalcy that started to settle into your life. It felt nice, knowing that it was okay to go have a burger with Joey and maybe go play in the arcade with Yami and Joey, or talk to Mai about really anything.
It was also nice to have somebody you could crawl up to in the middle of the night and have them hold you and lull you back to sleep. It was also nice to confide in Yami, since he's been with you ever since you tried to take your life.
And you had to admit, the way you met was kind of ironic; he was a man you met while trying to kill yourself, and now all he's trying to do is save you. You often wonder if he ever gets annoyed at you, but so far you haven't seen Yami annoyed, only pissed off when he's on the phone sometimes; and even then after he's hung up, he's able to control his anger extremely well.
In that area, you're certainly impressed.
You often wonder what Yami does for a living, and how he can afford a good lawyer and an okay apartment and half of the other things he owns. You've asked him in the past, but he simply smiles at you and tells you it's nothing to be concerned about.
It's not that you're concerned, just kind of curious.
It's not until one day; you wake up to the sound of the phone ringing. You groggily get up from Yami's bed (where you sleep most nights when you have a nightmare), and walk out into the living room, where the land line is. You yawn and pick up the phone on the fourth ring, clearing your throat before answering.
"Hello?"
"Yes hello, is Prince Yami there?"
"… Excuse me?"
"Pardon, but is Prince Yami there? His father is rather upset with him at the moment and well—I rather not get into detail about it-!" You slam the phone down. Your knees start you shake as you shake your head.
So that's how he was able to afford everything; he as fucking royalty. How had he never heard of his name before? Was he even from this country? You didn't think so; princes got all of the attention.
You hear groaning coming from the bedroom, and your heart starts to race.
Who was this man who had saved you? Was he all made up to who he says to be?
Your name is Yugi Moto, and as of right now, you're extremely confused and just want the truth, and who could blame you?
END OF CHAPTER.
