Sickness

Pythagoras blinked heavily to stop the light from entering his eyes. Groaning he pulled the covers over his head. He had no idea what was wrong with him today but it hurt like hell. His nose was running, his head was pounding and every movement made him want to throw up.

"Jason..." He called out from his room, still laying on his side.

"Yeah?" Jason called back from another room.

"C'mere." The blonde haired man requested groggily as he tried to peer out of the door. The angle was wrong so he had got nothing but another urge to vomit.

"I'm a bit busy. Give me a minute?"

"Please, Jason." Pythagoras grovelled and omitted another groan.

"Okay, I'm coming." Jason replied. The sound of running water was heard and the clattering of a plate. Jason walked into Pythagoras' room, drying his hands on his clothes. He walked in and frowned at the sniffling man under the covers. "Are you okay?" He asked quickly coming over to kneel by the bed.

"I don't think so..." Pythagoras replied and looking into Jason's eyes with a puppy dog frown that made the dark-haired man's heart melt. He reached a hand up to his forehead to test his temperature and found his hand tousling the blonde curls that fell over his forehead.

"You're burning up." Jason remarked and planted a kiss on the man's forehead. It had not occurred to him (and probably wouldn't do) that the fever that injected Pythagoras was possibly contagious and could therefore infect him too.

Pythagoras closed his eyes at the contact and let out a sigh which turned into a feisty cough. Jason patted him on the back to help him breathe again.

"Hey, you're going to have to tell me what herbs can help to cure this because I'm sad to say that I have no knowledge in this field at all." Said Jason, biting his lip and watching the man carefully. Pythagoras's eyebrows creased and he racked his brain but all he was getting was static.

"I... I can't remember, Jason. My head hurts." He frowned and gave a pleading look to the man. Jason sighed.

"Then I'm going to have to cure you the way I know."

Pythagoras looked confused. What other way could there be to cure illness that wasn't herbs and medicinal plants? Nonetheless he allowed Jason to stand again and leave the room. He watched him go before closing his eyes again and attempting to sleep once more. Drifting off into darkness again he slept for a little while.

When Pythagoras awoke, Jason was walking back into the room. He clutched a wet rag in his hands, many of their warmest and softest blankets and some sort of liquid in a bowl. The liquid steamed and bubbled as Jason placed it on the table beside the bed next to a cup of water that had mysteriously appeared while he was sleeping.

"What's all this?" Pythagoras asked, sitting himself up and gesturing the objects in Jason's hands. The man smiled and placed the rag onto Pythagoras's head.

"That'll bring down the fever. It's been dipped in cold water." Jason began. "The blankets are to keep you warm everywhere else because you were shivering in your sleep. The bowl is full of hot soup that I boiled over the fire because that's supposed to be good for a cold and I brought your the glass of water to flush out your system."

Pythagoras blinked as Jason placed the blankets around his shoulders. His shocked expression soon turned to a smile as Jason climbed on to the bed opposite him. He picked up the bowl and stirred it with the spoon.

"You'll like this, I promise." Jason reassured him and spooned some out. He held it to Pythagoras's mouth who opened it obligingly. He let the hot soup run over his tongue and down his throat. It was so soothing and numbed the soreness of his throat completely with heat. He sighed in relief.

"More please." He said finally, bringing his hand to his mouth to cough. Jason obeyed spoon feeding the man with more soup. They continued this act in silence for about 10 more minutes until the bowl was empty.

"Now, drink the water." Jason commanded and this time it was Pythagoras' turn to obey and he did so willingly. Jason watched him and smiled encouragingly.

Pythagoras sneezed violently and threw himself forward.

"Bless you."

"Thank you."

Jason took hold of the blonde man's hand and squeezed it gently before getting on to all fours and leaning over to kiss the man's neck. Pythagoras breathed in his scent (or as much of it as he could with his nose being as blocked as bad drain) and sighed happily. Jason was still not exactly staying away from germs as he took his place next to Pythagoras on the bed.

He placed his arm around the still shivering man and pulled him close to him. Pythagoras accepted the body heat gladly and rested his head between Jason's chest and chin with a smile.

"Is that better?" Jason asked quietly and Pythagoras nodded. He could feel the depths of sleep pulling him back in but he didn't want to go just yet. He wanted just a little more conscious time with Jason before he had to sleep but alas it was no use.

Within 2 minutes Pythagoras had fallen back into the darkness of his mind and was sleeping soundly, his arm now draped over Jason's stomach comfortably.
