There was something strange in the air, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. He had been sitting in the same tree top for six hours, waiting for the king's army to come by. Nothing had happened no army had come through the forest and no one came to tell him why or that there had been a change of plans. But he didn't abandon his post, he was going to stay right there even if it took all day for the king's army to go by this spot.

Kai crouched lower behind the leaves, peering through them with his ears erect ready to attack. The strange feeling that filtered by him had yet to leave the air around him, it kept nudging at the back of his mind. He broke eye contact with the path below him to search for one of the others in his unit to see if they felt the same thing. As he looked around the tree tops, knowing one of his men wouldn't be too far from where he was. Though when his eyes came upon one of his men, his heart sank and the strange feeling in the air started to make sense.

Attached to a tree speared through the chest by a sword was one of his men, the man's blood running down the trunk of the tree. Kai stayed crouched, less he be spotted as well. He hadn't smelled anyone coming through the woods, how could he have allowed one of his men get speared like a fish? He turned his head to look away only to lock eyes with another one of his men. This time it was one of the few women in his unit, her once bright green eyes were dull. A sword had pierced through her neck just above her collar bone. She dangled off the tree like an ornament; her blood was splattered over the trunk. Kai's heart was beating fast in his chest now, was he next?

He knew he had to get out of there, but he was too afraid to move from where he was. That was when he noticed that all his men in his unit were speared by a sword and dangling from the tree around him. Each time he turned one way to look away from one, his eyes fell upon another. His head was spinning, as he had yet to smell any human nearby. He lost his footing from turning so much in the top of the tree; he scrambled to grab a branch to break his fall. Out from under the cover of the leaves from the top, down below he finally understood why he hadn't smelt any human. Standing there with a smirk plastered to his face was Bryan, his long lavender hair blowing in the gentle breeze as they locked eyes.

As Kai went to speak Bryan quickly grabbed a sword from its sheath attached to his belt on his right side. Before Kai realized what was happening the sword found its way into his chest where his heart was. It embedded itself inside, blood spewed out as Kai screamed in agony his grip on the branch above him loosened, but he didn't fall to the ground. Bryan's smirk grew into a wide smile, without a word he started to walk away, leaving his youngest brother against the tree. Kai struggled to keep his eyes open as he watched Bryan walk away, as they closed Bryan was out of sight.

In a rush of sweat and panic Kai shot up out of his bed, grabbing at his chest where the sword had pierced him in his dream. He had yet to calm his breathing as he realized it was nothing more than a dream, there beside him in his bed lay Tala sound asleep. He wiped away the sweat that trickled down his forehead and took in a much-needed breath of air. Quietly he threw the sheet to the side and climbed out of the bed, grabbing his pants and slipping them on as he walked out of the room to the kitchen.

He sat at the table with his small wooden cup in his hand that was filled with water. It had been a year since he saw Bryan, he didn't know what became of him and nobody else seemed to know either. After he had been told of Mathilda's death and could find no traces of her, he took comfort with Tala. It wasn't what he wanted exactly, but it was enough to fill the hole that had opened. His grandfather wasn't going to object either; he favored Tala like his own son. Kane had nothing to say, he knew what it felt like to lose someone. Tyson was never one to speak his mind about matters such as these, even though Kai wished he would say something about it. Max had mentioned to him before about how he thought it was wrong, but that wasn't enough to make Kai stop bringing Tala to his bed every night.

He needed more than just one person's opinion about what he was doing, and he wasn't quite sure why. Every night it was the same though, loveless and emotionless. It filled the hole temporarily and then the hole would grow bigger. Voltaire had asked him about children and if he was taking precautions. He wasn't exactly surprised he'd ask; he had his war to think about. Kai though, had his life to think about, when he told him that he was not planning to have children with Tala Voltaire had the biggest fit of his life. He wasn't his son, so it didn't bother him what he said and there was nothing Voltaire could do to him because he needed him for the war.

After Mathilda's death the full moons had become more of a problem with him, he wasn't the only one in the underground kingdom that had problems. Voltaire had a small prison like area built for those who lost control during the full moons and on those nights, he would be locked up with the others. Each had their own cell to stay in, chained to the wall by the neck and the floor by the wrists and ankles. There were two layers of doors for them to pass through and no windows. The last full moon he experienced seemed to be the worst one, he had phased over while in his cell and broke the chains that held him, but he couldn't break the cell doors.

There were a few good days that he did have since Mathilda's death, but the bad seemed to outweigh the good. One good thing was when Tala thought he was with child and he wasn't. Another odd oddity given to them by the gods, the males of their kind being able to become pregnant. Some thought it was a blessing, since most of the Demons were gay or had secret lovers. Though they were unsure how it was possible for Demon male could impregnate a human male, but it had been done before.

Another good thing that happened was when Kai's unit had slipped into the kingdom or Varleeanne undetected and made away with supplies that they wouldn't have been able to get from other villages and towns. They weren't going to make a habit out of stealing from the kingdom itself, because once Voltaire learned they had gotten inside he had since come up with a plan to attack. Though something must have happened to the plan because nothing had been said since, but Kai was in no hurry to try and take the kingdom from the inside.

Kai's ears twitched as he could hear Tala coming down the hallway, he rubbed the sleep from his icy blue eyes and leaned against the opening of the hallway.

"What're you doing in here?" Tala yawned out.

"I needed a glass of water. Go back to bed." Kai was cold towards him, like he always was. The years of hardship and heartache molding him into almost the perfect warrior for Voltaire, he had built up walls and masks to hide his pain.

Tala frowned and went back down the hall; Kai could hear him getting into the bed. He drank the rest of his water and grabbed his jacket off the back of the chair in the living room before leaving the house. He made his way over to Kane's house; it was still late, so he didn't expect him to be awake. Just as Kai turned to leave after waiting a few minutes after knocking on the front door, Kane came to the door.

"Well I wasn't expecting you." Kane chuckled a little and held the door open for Kai to come inside. Kai had taken noticed of the missing earring from Kane's left ear, the one he had placed in for Bryan years ago.

They walked over to the living room of Kane's home and sat down on the furniture. The layout to Kane's house was slightly different than Kai's. The living room was in the same spot as Kai's, but the bedroom was to the left of the front door and the kitchen was at the back of the house.

As they got settled on opposite chairs Kai was the first to speak.

"I really didn't want to tell you these things, but I can't stand this anymore." He took in a deep breath and folded his hands over his legs. "I keep having the same dream, for the past two weeks. I'm in the woods with a unit, in the trees. We're waiting for Brooklyn's army to come through, when all my men and women have been speared to the trees. There is no army, it's Bryan. He's standing below me, and I slip but catch myself. He then throws a sword and it pierces my heart, pinning me to the tree. I don't know what it means, and it won't stop…" Kai looked up and met his father's concerned gaze.

Kane put a hand to his chin and looked to be in thought for a short while, till he let out a huff of air. "I don't think I could help you either. I mean, why would Bryan want to spear you? You know as well as everybody else that he's been missing for a year now. No one knows where he is, but I promise. He's not hiding in some forest ready to spear you in the heart."

"But what if he is?" Kai's legs started to tremble; he didn't think Bryan was truly doing such a thing. Though there was something in the back of his mind that kept telling him not to be so careless.

"Maybe if you sleep here for the rest of the night it might not happen. I'll get some blankets for you." Kane got up before Kai had a chance to say anything.

Just because he was here seeking help from his father, did not change the fact that he still resented him with a passion. Like he had said, he didn't know who else to tell. Kane came back from his room with a large blanket made of sheep skin and bear fur. He handed it over to his youngest son and returned to his room to finish sleeping. Kai threw the blanket over himself and laid out on the couch, sleep came back to him quickly.

He stood on the bank of a stream, it's cool water rolling by him as he stared at his own reflection. The wind was gently blowing and tossing his hair about, he was shirtless with a white around his neck, the back of it draped behind him. As he looked harder at himself he looked much older than he normally looked, his hair had grown out and he had gained more muscles on his chest and arms. He resembled his father much more than before, the only difference was the hair. Still in its two-toned color, though his bangs had grown out more wildly and the dark-blue at the back reached down the nape of his neck. Tattooed on his upper right arm was the family's crest, a wolf paw print. While he had two blue triangles on each side of his cheeks, almost drowning out his pale complexion.

He sat down where he stood and looked around; he was in a large clearing. Behind him sat a small hill and across from the stream was an opening to a forest. He didn't quite understand why he was there, or what his purpose was now. He picked at the grass, enjoying the calmness of it all. His ears perked as someone approached from across the stream. It was a tan man; his black hair cascading around his frame, the bangs covering his face. He was dressed in what Kai could only describe as royal clothing. The shirt was white and sleeveless with a gold strip along the top; a gold sash hung around his hips. More gold trim followed the hems of his shirt and collar, his pants were white, and they cuffed around his ankles, as he stood barefoot in the grass.

Kai stood up quickly and he called out to him. His mouth opened, and his lips moved, but no sound came out. This didn't shock him or cause him to stop; he kept calling out to the man as he stood not too far from the streams bank. Kai started forward, stepping into the stream's cold water to get across to the other side. As he climbed up the bank of the stream his heart stopped as his eyes fell upon Bryan. Kai's feet slid as he stood on the mud and he fell back into the stream. Bryan was standing behind the man, looking just over his shoulder. He walked around the man as he knew he had been seen by Kai, the man turned and started to walk away as Bryan stepped closer to where Kai stood.

Kai tried to yell, but still no sound escaped his lips. Bryan stopped at the top of the streams bank, slowly drawing out his sword from its sheath on his side. Kai tried to back away out of the streams water, but his feet got stuck in the mud underneath. He started to struggle, pulling his legs up with all his strength to no avail. Bryan pulled out his sword and slowly began to run the blade through his youngest brother's chest; Kai's screams broke the silence. Bryan eased the sword further into Kai's heart, the blood dripping from the wound into the stream until it turned red. Bryan stood back from his brother and began to walk away, leaving Kai standing with his sword sticking in his chest.

Kane stood beside Kai as he thrashed around in his sleep, screaming so loud it hurt Kane's ears. He grabbed hold of his son lifting him off the couch and slapped him across the face once. The pain that seared over Kai's cheeks woke him up. Kane gently released his grip on his son, laying him back down on the couch.

"Was it the same dream?" Kane asked as he sat on the ground beside the couch.

"Not really… Bryan was in it, but I was by a stream. And this man appeared. Bryan came out from behind the man and I got stuck in the mud and he speared me like before. I… I don't want to sleep anymore. I don't think I can take it. It feels so real, it hurts every time he stabs me. I can't do this anymore." Kai put a fist to his forehead and clenched his teeth; he had no idea what to do about this.

"You need sleep, it's important. Maybe we can find some way to help you sleep? Maybe that'll help; there may be an herb or something. We'll ask around the medical ward tomorrow." Kane suggested and stood up. "But I need to get some sleep… Try one more time, alright?" As he went to walk away Kai grabbed hold of his wrist.

Not looking at his father and with a trembled voice he said. "Don't leave me."

Kane sighed; it had been forever since Kai had ever shown any kind of compassion towards him. He nodded and sat back down beside the couch. "Alright, I'll sleep here." A faint smile crossed Kai's lips as he laid back down on the couch to sleep. Kane crossed his arms over his chest and crossed his legs, leaning his back against the couch. He closed his eyes and for the first time in two weeks Kai was able to sleep peacefully throughout the rest of the night.

Max's wails drowned out anything Kane and Tyson had been saying between each other. Max's grip around his father's arm tightened with each sob. Tyson and Kane weren't phased by the sound or the scene Max was making, Kai on the other hand had been getting quite annoyed by his brother's antics. Their father, Kane was going away, for how long no one knew. Though he was certain that leaving now would be best before Voltaire could use him on the front lines to destroy the people he used to care for. Voltaire's plans of overtaking the Kingdom from the inside had started to come to fruition and Kane didn't want anything to do with it.

Kai stood behind Tyson with his arms crossed over his chest, rolling his eyes as Max continued to cry holding onto their father. Tyson shook Kane's hand firmly, unsure if this would be the last time any of them would see their father. Prying Max off his arm Kane said his goodbye to him, Tyson having to hold back his twin from latching back onto their father once more.

Kane walked up to Kai and held his hand out to say his goodbye, Kai gave him a cross look but took his hand just the same. Silently they said their goodbyes, still not on the best of terms with each other. Though in the back of Kai's mind, he too was concerned for his father's safety. Not many places allowed Demons into their towns or villages, those that did were far and few between. This was something Kane needed to do for himself though and Kai wasn't fixing to stop him. He knew full well that Kane had been a pawn of Voltaire's for too long and maybe, with a little luck he'd be able to find his mother.

It was a very slim chance she had not been killed by Brooklyn all those years ago, though if she wasn't dead, where was she? Was she all right, was she able to care for herself? No one knew the answers, but maybe Kane could find some and help her.

Kane started away from his sons, they had left the Underground Kingdom to say their goodbyes, so Voltaire's other men wouldn't try to stop him. It was dark, but not dark enough to stop Kane from walking away. Though the farther he walked, the less his sons could see of him. Within seconds he was completely out of their sight. Max's sobs had died down as Tyson comforted him, Kai was starting to fight eternally with his emotions. He wasn't happy his father was leaving, but he wasn't all that upset about it either. Unsure he was the first to turn around to go back into the Underground Kingdom, Tyson had to pull Max off his arm before following behind.

It was about a day's journey to the closest town, ransacked and broken by Brooklyn's army in search for more Demons there were hardly any people still living there. Those that had stayed behind watched with eyes like daggers fixated on Kane as he walked through looking for a place to eat. Mothers shooed their children inside their shambled homes and the men and older boys followed Kane, picking up broken planks and stones.

Kane started to fasten his pace not wanting a confrontation with the people of the town though before he knew it he was running out of the town. The men and boys shouted as they threw the stones and planks of wood at him, yelling profanities and wishing death upon him. He made it to the town line without a scratch, but his stomach was still empty, and it gurgled to remind him of that.

As night began to fall Kane stopped by a small stream in the woods and set up camp for himself. With the flames from the fire dancing off his face, warming him from the cold night he started to think back to his boys. Hoping that they were alright, he started to feel guilty for leaving them. With the war fixing to reach its climax he wondered if he had made the right choice in leaving his sons. It was too late to go back now though, he had come too far to go back. After being gone for four years he wasn't even sure if his sons were still alive, he shook his head trying to not think of such things. He tried to think of all the good things he and his sons had been through, which wasn't very much. With a deep sigh Kane closed his eyes and lay on the bed of leaves he had prepared for himself.

Maybe he should go back, there wasn't much for him out here. He had gotten his peace, but the lingering thought of his sons being dead hindered him. There would be no point in returning if his sons were gone, he would just end up becoming Voltaire's pawn again without an actual cause. Though if his boys were still alive, maybe he could protect them and maybe pull them away before the war got worse. Out in the western region there was no war with Demons, they lived peacefully with the Kingdom. Kane's mind stirred with the possibilities of what if's and why not's, he had to decide. Would they forgive him for leaving them?

As day light began to shine through the canopy of trees, Kane was already dressing himself. He had taken a quick bath in the cold stream he had made camp by. The fire had died out during the night, and his things were already packed. He was just on the outskirts of the Kingdom, with morning approaching he was quickening his pace incase Brooklyn's army was doing a sweep around the land. It would take him about a day's walk before he made it back to the Underground Kingdom.

With his sack slung over his shoulder and his hood pulled up around his head he kept his gaze at his feet. The sun beaming down on his back sweat trickled down his face, his blue hair sticking to his forehead and cheeks. In the distance he could hear yelling, his eyes darted up quickly to see that there had been a blockade on the road. Brooklyn's army had set up a checkpoint on the road ahead of him.

A man in a white long coat stood at the front of the blockade, he was too far away for Kane to see his face, in his hand he held a parchment of paper and was barking orders to those around him. The other guards were dressed in the traditional armor following the man's orders. Kane began to back away, but before he got far the man called out to him. Kane froze for a second, glancing at the guards in armor he saw they had bows on their backs. If he tried to run surely, they would try to shoot him. He clinched the sack's strings tighter in his hand, with his head still hung low he walked towards the man. He stopped, starring at the man's feet before him.

"The roads are closed for the day due to the prince's wedding. There's an alternate route to the south." The man's voice was strong and familiar.

Kane glanced up, his eyes encountered familiar grey orbs. As he had looked up his hood fell revealing his white ears. The guards around him started to draw their weapons, but he wasn't fazed by the commotion as he just stared into his eldest son's eyes.

"Bryan?" He managed to breathe out as someone grabbed hold of his arms and forced them behind his back.

Bryan stood motionless, starring at his father in disbelief, unsure of what to do. The parchment he had been currently holding blew off in the breeze as his grip had loosened on it.

"What shall we do with the Demon sir?" The guard holding Kane's arms asked hastily.
Under the man's vice grip Kane looked up at his son, his body shook with shock as he noticed that Bryan's ears were no longer upon his head.
"What did you do?" He asked in a low growl, bowing his head in shame.

Ignoring the question Bryan looked up at the men around him. "Place him in the wagon. We'll let the king decide what to do after the wedding tonight." Bryan ordered, and watched as they tugged and pulled Kane off to a cart where they tied his hands and feet behind his back and threw him inside the bed of the cart.

Kane kept his gaze fixed on Bryan as he went back to barking orders to those around him.
The ride back to the palace was quiet, there was a guard stationed at each side of Kane as he lay helplessly on the bed of the cart. Bryan rode on a horse ahead of the cart, the sun was starting to set, and the roads were getting darker as they approached the gates to Varleeanne. The guards posted at the gates let them in, whispers began to fill the air as the guards laid eyes on Kane as he passed by in the cart.

They reached the palace and went through the back gates towards the stables. The palace was lit up, shining brightly through the night sky. Loud music could be heard coming from within the stone walls. As Bryan put away his horse the guards that had been surrounding Kane got off from the cart, cutting the rope around his ankles, and started to pull him off as Bryan made his way back.

"It's alright, I'll take him from here." His voice was as cold as the night air, and the guards around him nodded in unison and stepped back.
Bryan grabbed hold of Kane's arms, pushing him in the direction he wanted him to go. As they neared a back wooden door the music started to die out.

"What. Did. You. Do?" Kane spoke again, his voice was dry and harsh.

"What I had to do." Bryan pushed open the wooden door before them and pulled Kane inside.

They had come through the servant entrance to the kitchen and stood for a minute in silence. There were no maids or cooks as they had all been out in the throne room and dining room for the king and his guests.

"Now what?" Kane took a minute to look around him.

There was another door around the corner to his right, and one to his left. Trying to think of which one to run through. Before he could move his feet the door on his left opened and in walked Hiro. Hiro stopped in the doorway and glanced at Kane, a small smile crossed his lips, shutting the door behind him he cleared his throat.

"Well isn't this a nice surprise?" He walked up to Bryan and placed a hand on his shoulder. "The king is busy, so if you wish I can take him to the dungeon if you like. Raymond has been asking for you all day and refuses to come out of his room without you." Bryan looked over at Kane, the smile still plastered on his face.

"Are you sure, I don't mind taking him." Bryan thought back to Julia being in the dungeon and wondered what would happen when his father would see her down there and the state she was in. He didn't want anything to happen to anyone around him, not now.

"Of course, besides. We can't very well have this wedding without the groom. The king would be more than happy if you could go and get him, without us having to drag him out and down the aisle by force." Hiro's hand fell from Bryan's shoulder and moved to Kane's. "Go on now. I have this." He stepped aside and let Bryan pass.

Bryan stopped in front of the door for a moment before opening it. A quick thought of attacking Hiro and rescuing his father passed through his mind, but it was only for a small moment. He had already promised Ray that when he had returned he would save him from this wedding.

"Thanks. I owe you one Hiro." He said as he walked out the door.

"Well then Demon, shall we?" Hiro pushed Kane towards the door on their right.

They came into a large room. It faced the front of the palace overlooking the front gates and garden. There was a bed to the right and two chairs in front of the fireplace. There was a desk against the windows, and a bookshelf to the left of it. Another door sat before them and Hiro pushed Kane towards it. Hiro opened it and stuck his head out, the throne room was empty, so he pulled Kane out from his room and lead him to the left to another door. Opening it lead to a flight of stairs. There were only a few candles on the walls lighting up the stairway.

"Go." Hiro pushed on Kane's back.

Kane's ears twitched as he could hear people approaching from behind him. He turned around, looking past the closing door and Hiro's body. He saw the king walking into the throne room, a woman was walking beside him, her light-pink hair curled around her face. She was smiling and talking to the king as she followed beside him.

"MATHILDA?!" Kane yelled out before the door completely closed on him.

Her attention on Brooklyn switched to the voice that had called out to her, and she saw just a small glimpse of him as the door shut behind them. Her arm that was wrapped through Brooklyn's fell to her side, she wanted to go to the door and fling it open to see if it was truly him. Her feet moved without her realizing, but a hand grabbed her and pulled her back. She looked up at Brooklyn, but knew better than to question anything. His face had darkened, and his mouth was clenched tight as he bit his bottom lip.

"That's him." He whispered out. His hand on Mathilda's shoulder started to tremble. "That's the Demon who killed my mother." His voice grew cold, he pushed past Mathilda. "Go tend to Raymond and our guests." He walked towards the door, and before Mathilda could stop him he had already slammed it behind him.

"Mother what's wrong?" Mathilda's frozen gaze fell as Ray came up behind her, Bryan standing beside him. "Why are you crying?"

Mathilda hadn't even noticed and quickly wiped the tear that had escaped her eyes away. "No reason. You look handsome Raymond. C'mon, you've kept everyone waiting long enough." She started to shoo the two away from the throne room toward the garden where the ceremony was being held.

"What about father?" Ray asked as they walked away.
"He'll be here in a moment." Mathilda answered and looked back over her shoulder. Before they stepped outside she grabbed hold of Bryan's jacket sleeve. He stopped beside her.

"Go on to your spot Raymond. I'll be there in a second." She shooed her son away, Ray nodded and walked outside.

Mathilda turned and looked up at Bryan. "Go save him." Her voice was shaking.

"I… I can't." Bryan looked away from her in shame.

"He's your father Bryan!" Her voice cracked as tears threatened to escape her eyes once again.

"I was going to. I was going to try and save them both."

"Both?" Mathilda looked at him questioningly, her thoughts moved to Ray. She knew Bryan was in love with her son, just like he had been in love with her.

"Julia… She's his wife. She's been down there all those years. I don't really know why she's been here. But I was going to try and save them both in the morning. Hiro found us… I wasn't expecting Brooklyn to see him.

"Julia?... That's Kai's mother, isn't it?" Mathilda questioned, her heart grew heavier. "Then you have to go now and save them both."

"And what good will that do for either of them?" Bryan snapped back.

"What do you mean?" His remark took her back a bit.

"Kai is dead. What would me saving his mother and father do if he's gone? It will accomplish nothing. It would just get me killed. I'm sorry Mathilda, but I'm not putting my neck on the line for him anymore. I've done my part." Bryan went to walk away when she grabbed his jacket sleeve again.

"You can never have him." Mathilda's voice was cold, her eyes were no longer sad, they were filled with anger. "If you try to go after him, you WILL die." Mathilda's threat seemed to fall on deaf ears as Bryan simply pulled himself away from her grasp.

"I would give my life for his." Bryan's words hung in the air around her as he walked outside.

Down in the dungeon Kane stood motionless, in the darkened cell before him stood his beloved. Being held captive progressed her age, she was 77 but looked to closer to 90. Her once two-toned hair was now snow white all in one color. Her clothes were just rags, and they hung around her small malnourished body. Her face had thinned and wrinkled, she was a ghostly pale.

"Julia." His voiced trailed, hinted with relief that she was alive.

"Oh, my love. Is it really you?" Her voice cracked, it was dry and heavy. Her dark green eyes swelling with tears.

Kane ran over to her cell pulling away from Hiro's grip. Her small arms reached through the bars and cupped his face in her hands.

"I am so sorry." Tears poured down his face, as anger and guilt swelled in his stomach at the sight of her.

"I don't blame you my darling." She choked out through tears, Kane kissed her fingers that caressed his cheeks.

They had both forgotten Hiro standing behind them, watching in disgust as they enjoyed their reunion. Quietly Brooklyn came down the stairs and stood beside him, at first, he was confused at the display before him. Though the longer he watched the angrier he got, before him stood the man who had killed his mother before his very own eyes. They were still oblivious to Hiro and Brooklyn behind them, not noticing Brooklyn unsheathing his sword that hung to his side. He stepped closer to Kane, who hadn't stopped kissing Julia's fingers. Rage built up in his stomach with each step closer, he drew the sword back.

"I'll get you out of here, I swe." His words were cut short as blood spurt out with the last words from his mouth. Julia's smile faded, and she began to scream. Kane's face slipped out of her hands as he fell to the ground.

Brooklyn pulled his sword from Kane's chest, blood dripped off the blade as he stood over his body. Julia jumped at the bars gripping at them with all her strength as she screamed, tears pouring down her face. The screams echoed within the stone walls, she screamed profanities at the king, then she was begging for him to spare Kane's life. Kane sat on his knees unable to move, the shock of the blade through his heart was preventing him from changing into his wolf phase.

Blood spilled out of the wound in his chest, his body wasn't quick enough to heal itself. Hiro stood back and watched as Brooklyn drew the sword back once again, a strong feeling of joy filled his heart and soul as he watched his king bring the sword across the Demon's neck. Julia's screams became louder, she collapsed on the ground as Kane's body fell over, his head rolling to the right of it.

Brooklyn smiled down at the dismembered Demon under his feet, the ground covered in a pool of his blood. Satisfaction filled within him, he bent down and grabbed hold of the back of Kane's jacket, sliding his blood-soaked blade through the white fabric.

"Don't you touch him! Leave him alone!" Julia screamed through her tears and sobbing.

Brooklyn looked up at her with a smile on his face. "Release her. I have no use for her anymore." He stood up after cleaning his blade and started towards the stairs.

Hiro grabbed the keys to her cell off the wall hook behind him, stepping over Kane's body to unlock her cell. As the lock clicked she shoved it open, almost knocking Hiro over with the force of the door. She fell beside Kane and held his body. Crying into his blood-soaked clothing. Hiro wanted to stay and slay her too, seeing the state she was in, he didn't see a need to. He left her to her sadness and walked away, locking the door at the top of the stairs. After the wedding, he'd go back and escort her out of the kingdom, if she were still alive.
