Hey guys, posting chapter 10 today! I'm gonna try and keep on top of it from now on! Enjoy~!

I do not own Vocaloid or Vampire Knight. Also, I apologize if my stories are similar to anybody else's; I did not steal your ideas.

Vampireloids: Bloody Tunes

The sequel to Vampireloids: Songs and Fangs. It's the week before school starts up again, and Len, as a Prefect, has to go back a week early. But school this year won't be the same, especially when Len's friends transfer to Cross Academy. How will Len protect his secret? And how will he deal with the ongoing war between Zero and Kaito?

Chapter 10: Unexpected Visit

As it turns out, my dream had put me in a fitful sleep that Kaito could not awake me from in the morning. Figuring I was unwell, he informed Yori and left for class. It was lunchtime by the time I was dressed and ready to go to class.

The door swings open and Kaito walks in. His face relaxes when he's sees I'm awake, and as groggy as I am, I throw my arms around his neck.

"Morning," I murmur sleepily. Kaito laughs.

"It's already noon, Len," he informs me.

"I know," I reply. "But I didn't get to say 'morning' to you this morning, so I'm saying it now." I pause. "I suppose I can say 'good afternoon' now, too."

Kaito laughs. "Yes, I suppose you can."

I smile into his shoulder, and his hands pull me closer by wrapping around my waist. We just stand there silently for a moment before Kaito pulls away and looks down into my face. I'm tempted to lean up and kiss him, but he begins speaking before I can.

"Did you have a good sleep, at least?" he asks, concern on his face. I shake my head sleepily.

"Not really. I dreamed a lot."

"About…" he prompts.

I frown, trying to remember it. "I was a vampire-"

"So, not too different, then," Kaito puts in.

I shoot a glare at him. "Shush! Don't interrupt." He nods quickly. I pull away from his arms and walk over to the window, pulling the curtains apart. "And I was in an arena. I hadn't fed in… I don't know, a long time, and I was really… hungry. It was hunger, not thirst." I turn around to stare at my boyfriend, whose eyes are wide, almost with fear, and his jaw is clenched. He swallows harshly. "They sent a girl into the arena," I continue. "And I chased her down, playing with her until I got bored, and then I killed her. But there was this other girl…" I close my eyes and lean against the windowsill. "She was trapped in a box. And I wanted her for some reason, so I went to the box and I opened it…"

I feel a tear leak out from between my closed eyelids. "It was Junko, Kaito. Hara Junko, whom I let Kaname Kuran kill. And she started yelling at me, and accused me of letting her die…" My hands rise up to cover my face. "And she's right! I did let her die. I could've stopped him, but I didn't…"

"Len…" I feel hands softly touch my cheek, and I look up at Kaito. I know I probably look awful right now, but Kaito smiles sadly down at me and pulls me into a hug, his arms tight around my back.

"I wasn't there, Len, but I'm sure you did everything you could. It's not your fault."

I sigh. "Thank you, Kaito." I bury my face into his chest, not ever wanting to move. "I love you."

Suddenly, the door bursts open with a bang! and Yori, Iroha and Yuuki burst in with my other friends just behind them. "Len!" they all yell at the same time. I decide it's safer to stay in Kaito's arms than risk getting trampled and killed.

"Morning, and afternoon, too," I murmur.

"Good to know you're alive!" Miku exclaims. Luka rolls her eyes.

"Don't be ridiculous, Miku!" she exclaims, turning to face the tealette. "We knew he was alive. Yori told us so!"

"And how did Yori know?" Miki asks thoughtfully.

"Kaito told me," Yori offers. Miki nods, accepting the answer, but Miku pushes.

"And how did Kaito know?"

"I was sleeping!" I snap. "Do we really need to pursue this any further?"

Miku frowns. "I suppose not."

"Class'll start soon, so guys better get going!" Yuuki advises. They nod and reluctantly turn. Kaito tugs my arm, trying to lead me out, but Yuuki shakes her head. "I need to talk to him," she says, looking into Kaito's deep blue eyes. He hesitates for a moment, and then nods.

"I'll talk to you later, 'kay?" he says, turning to me. I smile and nod before leaning up and kissing him gently on the lips. He of course kisses back before turning and leaving, closing the door behind him.

Yuuki turns to me. "So, Len," she begins, leaning against the wall behind her. "Why don't you tell me about your dream?"

"Hmm…" Yuuki muses. She is pacing back and forth in an agitated way, her red eyes dark with concern. "Do tell me if you have any more dreams of this nature, Len." She turns to face me. "It's very concerning."

I nod quickly. "Of course."

She sighs, and I quickly stand up. "Yuuki…"

The vampire turns to me. "What is it?"

"Have…" I hesitate, not sure if I want to know the answer to the question I can't shake off. "I was just wondering if anybody's figured out Zero's whereabouts?"

Yuuki shakes her head. "Unfortunately, no. We're still working on that, after all. But once the break starts, Cross-sama will head to the Hunter's Office and see if he's there."

"I see."

"Don't worry, Len, he's not going to hurt you or anything."

"Still."

Yuuki shakes her head. "I have to go wake everybody up, so I have to go." She glances at the clock on the wall. "Since there's only half an hour until class is out, you might as well stay here." She jumps onto the balls of her feet. "Bye, Len-kyun! I'll talk to you later!" She pushes opens the door and disappears down the hall without bothering to close it afterwards. I snort in annoyance and do just that before shrugging off my uniform jacket. Looks like I got dressed for nothing.

Suddenly, I hear the window open and turn to face the very person I have been fearing seeing for nearly two months.

"Zero…" I breath, surprised. "What- why are you here? Where have you been for the last two months?" I demand, angry. "Why I am the first person you choose to visit?" I ask slowly. I close my eyes.

I hear Zero approach me. "You know why, Len." I feel his hand on my cheek, and quickly slap it away. I stare into his violet eyes, which look anything but angry. He almost look sad, like a dog whose been kicked.

"Why are you here?" I repeat. "What do you want from me? Where have you been? Everybody's been searching for you, and Iroha's been plotting your death, and I'll admit that I've been conspiring with her!"

"I've been all over the place," Zero admits. He turns away from me, and I'm tempted to shove him out the window or something. Not that that would harm him or anything. He lowers himself onto the bed I've been sleeping in, and lounges there while he continues. "Here and there, you know, everywhere." He smirks. "As for why I'm here, I'm here because you're here. Otherwise I probably would have ended up wandering for the rest of my life." He sits up and leans forward, his eyes dark. "And as for what I want from you…"

I take a step back as he stands and crosses over to me, leaning down over my small frame. "You know what I want from you."

I shake my head and duck out from under his arms. "You should know by now that you're never going to get it."

"Len…"

"I love Kaito, and thinking I ever loved you was the biggest mistake of my life. I don't care what you say to me anymore, Zero. I don't care what you do!" I turn to face him. "I just want you to leave me alone and let me live my life!"

Zero closes his eyes, his body seeming to shrink a little. A long moment of silence ensues, and then he speaks very slowly. "You… really don't love me anymore?"

I almost say that I never did, but I can hear the waver in his voice. He's moments away from shattering into a million pieces. "I really don't." I take a deep breath. "I'm sorry, Zero-"

"Don't." I freeze and look up at him. His eyes are hard. "Don't 'I'm sorry' me. I know you're not."

"Zero-"

"No. Enough." He stands up to his full height, which makes me feel like an ant. "You're not sorry, Len. I know this for a fact." He leans down towards me, but doesn't take a step forward. "How about this; I will leave you alone. I won't talk to you when other people are around, and I'll stay out of your way." I try to say something but he cuts me off. "In return, on occasion, you will still hang out with me. I can still see you if I promise not to make advances, right?"

"But, Zero-"

"Is that okay?"

I stare at him a long moment. It's true that I do miss his company, even though it's rather irritating that he's always trying to make me fall in love with him and getting into fights with Kaito. But he's making an effort, and I appreciate it.

I look up into his lilac eyes, which are full of sincerity. "Yes, that's okay. But!" I cut him off before he can say anything, and he stares at me, his eyes wide. "I decide when and where we can 'hang out'-" putting air quotes around those two words, "-and you have to start coming to class again."

"Of course," Zero agrees. "After the break-"

"Nope!" I answer. I poke him in the chest playfully. "Starting tomorrow."

He frowns. "But tomorrow's the last day of school!" he complains. I shrug.

"That's the deal. Take it or leave it!"

"Fine."

I look up at the clock. "You should go. Kaito will be pissed if he finds you in here."

"Yes." He doesn't even look back at me as he approaches the window and leaps out. I run after him and watch him disappear into the forest. I can't help but wonder if he's going to our old meeting place, the Acceptance Tree. I also wonder what will happen tomorrow when Yori and Iroha see him in class. Hopefully nothing bad.

The door opens, and I turn around to see Kaito burst in. He rushes towards me and plants a kiss on my lips. I kiss him back, but out of the corner of my eye I see a blurry shape dashing into the forest again.

Zero saw, and Zero wasn't happy about it.

Yay! Zero's back! Or not yay, if you don't like him… :P
