Heya!
Because it's my beloved Zero Kiryuu's birthday today, (Oct 24th)
I decided to post a chapter of all my stories.
That and, I haven't updated this one in ages. (Sorry!)
Anyway, love you guys!
Sorry in advance for any spelling mistakes.
Enjoy!
Yui smiled as she sat on the front steps of a grand old mansion. It had two visible floors, marble pillars supporting a blacony over the doorway, drawn black curtains blocking view from every window, and ivy scaling the walls, growing from the bottom left corner to the top right. The walls were made of stone slates, the roof basalt slates.
Her bony fingers were laced together as she slowly rocked back and forth, her eyes glistening with tears despite the grin she wore. Her heart was aching. She'd left her other half, the one person who'd never betray her, her love. She missed him. But she knew that he loved Takuma just as much, if not more, than he did her, and she wanted to keep the flame of that love shining brightly, no matter the consequences.
Her fingers raked through her hair, her breathing uneven as she fought back the tears, regretting everything she'd ever done, just for it to end this way. She had once been confident of the plan. Everything went accordingly for the first few years, but when she met Kaname, she lost sight of it for a while, before bing roughly thrown back onto it by Rido.
It was the only thing she hated about Kurans, how they always seemed to have some sort of power over her.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She slowly stood up, wiping the dust from the stone off her leggings, and walked up to the looming, lilac door, her ashen fingers sliding over the silver handle and twisting it cautiously. The door clicked as she gently pushed it, her eyes scanning the inside for signs of life.
She slipped in, dust rising as her feet padded against the fluffy navy carpets. Without a sound, she crossed the floor and headed straight for the winding mahogany stairs. Her hand grasped the banister as memories flooded her, her heart lurching as her eyes watered once more.
A little girl with waist length blonde hair giggled as she sprinted across the landing, her bare feet meting the familiar feel of the silky maroon carpets. Another blonde, but a boy slightly tall this time, was making chase, laughing as his sister leapt onto the banister and ran down, her arms out wide to prevent herself from falling.
Her shimmering icy blue eyes twinkled with mischief as she neared the end, the sound of the boys feet on the smooth wood filling her ears. She was a foot from the end of the banister when an even taller blonde appeared, about eighteen, snatching her from the banister and twirling her around.
She squealed, in delight throwing her arms around his neck and accepting defeat. Her legs wrapped themselves around his torso as two smaller, identical blondes screamed, running around at their feet as one of the little boys tried to catch the other.
The three older blondes laughed at them, the ocean orbed blonde who'd been chasing his sister seconds ago, ruffling their hair of one of the twins as they rushed past him and darting up the stairs.
Tears fell as Yui slowly ascended the stairs, her shoulders shaking gently. She crossed the landing covered with a soft maroon carpet, the walls coloured a gentle cream, matching the ones downstairs. She opened a black door with a pristine white gold handle. The door had marks all over it, including a huge dent in the middle. She smiled slightly as she remembered how the poor door had ended up so battered.
Two identical little blonde's swung fists at each other, moving almost as blurs as they swiftly dodged each others attacks. One of the boys landed a right hook to his twins cheek, sending him flying back into the wall. The boy pulled himself from the hole, the plaster cracking under his finger tips as he glared at his twin, launching himself at the boy and kicking him in the jaw, sending him flying over the balcony not far back, and crashing onto the floor. The boy smirked victoriously as he stood above his twin on the railing, bending forward to stick his tongue out at him. The other blonde glowered at him, his cheeks turning bright red in embarrassment.
A girl, a few years older than the boys and with ice cold eyes instead of their oceanic orbs, strolled behind the twin on the balcony and gave him a small poke, sending him flying onto the ground floor beside his twin. She laughed as she stared down at them, one twin laughing while the one she'd just pushed over was fuming. He thundered up the stairs, his eyes burning with a fiery rage. She giggled and quickly escaped through a large black door and into the room.
The door shook as the twin crashed into it, shoulder first. He pulled himself from the dent in it and pounded on it, his fingers occasionally tearing some paint from the wood.
Yui giggled lightly as she ran her fingers over the dent, the exact shape of the small blonde's shoulder still marked onto it. Her fingers wrapped around the door knob, and twisted slowly, opening it with a quiet click. She peered in, her hair falling over her face slightly. She stepped from the maroon carpet to the obsidian one that coated the floor, gliding across the room and to the window. She pulled back the curtains and sighed in relief as she looked outside.
The garden was stunning, white rose bushes still decorated the sides of a stone pathway that lead to a single cherry blossom tree. Lush bushes cut in different shapes and sizes were scattered about, some even creating a maze leading to different parts of the garden, like the the pond with shimmering gold and white fish swimming about, covered with lily pads and beautiful lilies in full bloom, surrounded by rich grass, or the traditional Japanese garden in the corner.
But the reason Yui had sighed, was the tall blonde standing in front of the cherry blossom tree, his back to her.
She quickly and quietly unlatched the window, pushing it open without a sound, before leaping out. Her feet met the ground with a soft thump. She strolled towards him, doing her best not to tackle him.
She stopped less than a metre away, staring at his back, freshly cried tears rolling down her cheeks, dripping onto her feet from her chin. She hugged herself to cry stop the sobs racking throughout her body, refusing to let a sound escape her lips.
He wore a black hoodie with white underlining and stitching, a pair of worn denim jeans and a pair of black leather boots.
He turned around slowly, stormy blue eyes wide. He froze, facing her now and watching her in shock as she cried, sniffling as she tried in vain to stop crying.
"Who.. are you?" he asked, taking a small step backwards.
Yui flinched, her head snapping up as she stared at him, her obsidian eyes wide. She took a deep breath and turned around, walking away.
"How did you find this place?" he demanded, his voice sharp as he followed her back to the house.
She picked up the pace, her snow white hair flowing behind her.
"That doesn't concern you if you don't know who I am, Cole Minami," she said coldly, effortlessly opening one of the glass patio doors of the house and slamming it shut in his face.
"Yes it does! Who are you?! How do you know my name and that I was here?!" he shouted, tearing open the door and charging after her. "If you don't tell me, I'll be forced to kill you!"
Yui laughed coldly, not casting him a glance as she jogged up the stairs again, refusing to let more tears fall or let him see her true emotions at the moment.
He didn't know who she was. His own sister. Sure her hair and eyes were different, but her aura, facial and body features hadn't changed. He should have been able to recognize her.
She stopped dead in her tracks. She had changed so much. She'd grown up since she last saw him. She'd turned herself and Alex back into babies for Victoria to raise. She grew up all over again, along side Alex alone this time. Her aura was the same, but as far as he was concerned, Isabelle Minami was dead.
She turned back to face her younger brother, the youngest in the Minami family. She shook her head, lowering it and running her fingers through her hair. She could see her hair change back to it's natural colour, a golden blonde. She looked up, meeting his wide eyes.
She blinked a few times, slapping her hands onto her temples. She met his eyes once again, though they'd doubled in size.
His jaw was slack as his mouth hung open. He stared a gape at her for what seemed like forever before he spoke.
"N-Neechan?" he gasped, gulping to moisten his no doubt dry throat from having his mouth open for so long.
She nodded, smiling at him. She opened her arms as he started to slowly walk towards her. He gradually picked up the pace, breaking into a full sprint and running into her arms.
"Nee-chan!" he cried, wrapping his arms around her.
He fell to his knees in her embrace, burying his head in her stomach as he cried. He was much taller than his sister, as were all their siblings. Isabelle had always been the smallest, even though she was actually five foot eight. Alex was five eleven, Cole was, she guessed, at least six foot, while she hadn't seen the younger twins since the day she took Alex away with Toga, so she didn't know how tall they'd grown to be.
Isabelle ran her fingers through Cole's soft golden hair, wrapping her arms around his neck and cradling him.
"Hello, my lovely little brother. How are you?" she whispered, smiling as he held her tightly.
He looked up, his eyes bloodshot and his cheeks bright red as well. He gave her the same breathtaking smile she remembered, making her hold her breath.
"I've been good, Nee-chan! I missed you and Seth-niichan so much! So have Noah-nii, Logan-nii and Ethan-nii! Otousan and Kaasan have too!" he exclaimed, beaming at her as he spoke. "We thought Seth-niichan and Isabelle were dead! We came home and we could smell your blood everywhere. Then Oyaji told us we'd had to go somewhere to be safe and took us to another home!"
Isabelle smiled. "Oyaji got my note so. I asked him to take you all away to some place safe. I had to take Seth with me because you know Minami twins can't fall in love unless their other half is close by."
The younger Minami nodded.
"Mn! But where's Seth-niichan?" he asked, eyes wide.
Isabelle smiled sadly, letting him go and turning away.
"I have a job to do. While I do that, I want you to get Oyaji, Okaasan, Noah-otouto, Ethan-otouto and Logan-otouto and bring them to the Kuran Mansion. Tell them to wait there, and that Seth and his love will visit soon, as well as Haruka-oji and Juri-oba's son, Kaname Kuran. Ok?" she asked, not looking at him.
"Mn. But what about you Nee-chan? When will we see you again?"
That one question broke her heart. She smiled at him, turning around and facing him. She reached up and placed a hand on his head, ruffling his hair. She tilted her head and smiled at him.
"I'll see you at the Kuran Mansion. I'll come sometime after Kaname and Seth, Ok?"
He nodded, smiling and leaning into her hand that trailed down to his cheek.
He looked a lot like herself, with high cheekbones, sun-kissed skin, high cheekbones, a sprinkle of freckles, and long, thick ebony eyes lashes. His hair was golden, like hers, and his wavy bangs clung to his high cheeks. Around his neck was the same thing she and Seth used to wear, a black chain with a white gold rose pendant. She and Seth had hidden them and replaced them with the amethyst jewels and their black chokers.
Isabelle smiled and gave him a peck on the nose, removing her hand. She turned and began strolling away, biting her tongue as he left, heading in the opposite direction.
"Hopefully Kaname will know not to tell them about what I'm about to do to Sara, or what the Senate will do despite Asato being in my favour. They'll never understand, that, an eye for an eye is only fair, especially between purebloods, " she said, smirking as she plotted on how to destroy the woman who tried repeatedly to take her everything.
