Clary:

I looked out the window and saw that there was a massive army waiting by the outskirts of the kingdom. I looked back at Jace and we both new that Jonathan was tired of waiting and decided to launch his attack tonight instead of tomorrow like Aline thought. I rushed back to my room and dressed in my armor while I'm sure that Jace dressed in his. I pulled on the full body suit of armor that had the slits in it for my wings to come out of and pulled on the hunting boots along with it. I grabbed my silver lined bow, the quiver full of bows that Magnus had enchanted so that it would never run out of bows. I grabbed the box I stowed underneath the bed that held all of my knives and swords within it. I grabbed my green cloak and went out the door to go find Jace

We met back in the corridor on the way towards the courtyard. All the generals had convened there and the King was fitted in his armor while the Queen was ordering servants to go down to the tunnels that led out of the kingdom. When we entered the courtyard, everyone stopped talking and looked to me as their leader instead of Jace. I looked at him uncertainly, but he just nodded his head at me encouragingly. I took a deep breath and made my way towards the front of the courtyard where King Stephen was waiting for me patiently- well as patiently as you can with an army of demons outside the kingdom walls waiting to destroy everything they touch. I stepped next to him, but he took a step back so that I could take full reign of command.

"Alright, well I suppose since you are all here then you know that my brother and his army of demons have arrived. I understand if you are scared and that is perfectly normal, but I am here to tell you that as long as you are under my command, you and your men will have a home to go to tonight. My tyrant of a father and demon of a brother will not take your lives if I have anything to do about it. I understand that some of you may have a problem being under my control given my age and gender, but I will tell you that I have experienced things that only your truest nightmares can tell you about. I will raise hell on the battlefield and I will make sure that none of you or your men will fall tonight or any night when I am in command of an army. Put aside your prejudices and fight with me for it will not be something that you will regret tomorrow or any other day soon. Fight for your families, your wives, your children, your kingdom, your Queen, your Prince, your King and your Kingdom! Fight for your lives, take the glory, take it all and know while doing so that you are ridding the world of a terrible demon and that you are one step closer to taking down a terrible tyrant that dares to call himself the Thief King! Fight and never stop until all of your enemies are cut down before you and you will know true victory at last, and no one, not even the Angel will be able to take that away from you! Fight hard and you will survive! Are you men with me?!" I yelled.

The men all raised their spears in agreement and started shouting out victory screeches. I raised my sword and yelled along with them. I turned towards the gates and put the hood of my cloak up while moving parts of it aside so that my wings could unfurl. I spread my wings and launched myself off of the ground so I could go towards the archers that were residing on the castle walls waiting for my orders. I went towards the head archer and saw that among them was Alec who was smiling widely at me. I managed to give him a small smile back and grabbed a bow and nocked it with a bow. I looked to the north towards the army that was waiting just beyond the summit. I raised myself higher so I could see if one of the demons even stepped towards the castle walls. I looked down at the army that was assembled under my order and thought of all the men that were down there waiting to face Hell itself. I looked towards the sun and heard the demons yell out and charge towards the castle. I yelled to the calvary to ready themselves and I took aim with my bow at the front demon who I knew to be one of the generals. I waited until the perfect moment and let my arrow fly; it flew true and landed smack straight in the middle of the demons head. The hoard of demons paused for a minute before roaring in defiance and charging with reinvigorated strength. I signaled down below for the general to ready the men. He bellowed at them, and the men readied their spears and swords.

Alec looked up towards me waiting for my signal to tell the archers to let loose a volley of arrows when the moment came. I looked at him and he knew that it was time for the battle to start. The archers let loose dozens upon dozens of arrows that embedded themselves into multiple demons, whom folded upon themselves. I knew that the demons were close enough so I yelled so loud that even my brother who flew calmly behind his hoard of demons could hear me,

"OPEN THE GATES!"

The gates of the kingdom opened and all of the soldiers poured out, being led by a soldier wearing golden armor to match his golden hair. I gave a small smile at the sight of Jace rushing into battle to fight for his life and his kingdom, but I knew that the time for daydreaming was not right now and that I had to stay focused to make sure that none of the men would die tonight. I left Alec in charge of the archers and I flew over the battle to go and find a brother to confront. I saw him leisurely flying above the battle looking for someone when he saw me flying towards him.

"Well sister, you sure know how to rile a group of men to their deaths that's for sure. Let me guess, you told them how they were part of the movement that would finally take our father down and how they would all live to see tomorrow. You should know better than to give people false hope sister, I mean how else will they be able to trust you again?" he told me, flying around me in a circle.

"Who said that anyone was going to die tonight except for you? You know as well as I do that the only person that has the power to destroy you is me, so why even bring this army when you know that it is pointless?" I snarled at him.

"That is the one thing that I have always loved about you sister, you have always been able to talk so well, it's one of the main reasons these men were so inspired to follow you, because of how well you talk. But the time for talking is over, I think after I defeat you that I will allow you to watch as I kill and torture that little prince of yours that thinks he is so good at fighting."

"If you even touch Jace, it will be the last thing that you do. And you know that I follow out on all of my promises. Speaking of promises, where is Aline, I mean considering that she is your girlfriend I should think that before you did anything remotely close to moving your army that you would come into the castle and rescue her so that she would be safe and sound."

"Aline was just an end to a means, I needed her because of her status and now that I am at this part in the plan, I no longer need her. She can rot in the dungeons for all the care I give. What I care about right now, is winning this war and taking what is rightfully mine." He said gliding closer.

"And what exactly is rightfully yours, Jonathan, I would like to know so that I can be sure that you will never get it?"

"Why that's simple Clary, it's you, it's always been you. See I can't have the one person that can kill me against me or that proves to be a problematic, and the only way to solve this problem is for you to become mine. I figured out a long time ago that it was you that I have always wanted and not Aline. So I started to think of ways to make you mine and what more simple way of doing that is there other than forcing you to?" he said.

He was so close to me that I didn't realize how close he was to me until I felt him grip my arm. I jerked back away from him, but he just followed me. I turned my back towards him and put on a burst of speed, but before I could move, he pulled me back by my ankle and I found myself pressed against him with his arms wrapped around me. I tried to free my wings, but he had pinned them to my side so that they couldn't move. I thought of the only thing I could do to get away from him, I closed my eyes and lifted my right left up and jerked behind me hard. He did exactly what I thought he would and I flew a few paces away from him. I waited til he looked up at me and saw the fury in his eyes.

"The only way that I will ever be yours is if I am dead, and I have no intention of dying at your hands. I chose my own fate and you are not a part of it!" I bellowed at him.

"So be it sister, but you may wish you took this offer before you made this ridiculous decision! Say goodbye to your friends and the life that you had." he yelled at me.

I gave a yell of defiance and launched myself at him.
