Well everyone, we're finally at the end...probably the final end of the whole series. I've felt this series has had a very good run and I was so glad to write it. Well, here we go, the final chapter, hope you guys enjoy! While I'm off to get some rest.
Chapter 10: Feeling Golden
An hour had passed since the gang had gotten home, and after Bonnie and Bon Bon made sure their parents were safe, everyone had decided to stay over Freddy's house while Freddy and Foxy were placed in Freddy's bed and wrapped in bandages. Nette didn't have the energy to heal them quickly, they were all still exhausted...except Springtrap and Golden who were talking nearby.
"I hope Freddy really wanted to use that wish." Springtrap said.
"I'm sure he made the right choice, after everything that has happened, he went out of his way to actually save my body after it was fused with Fredrick...ugh...glad we won't be seeing him anymore." Golden growled.
"So Springtrap is it, are you really sticking around? I mean with your powers, you could pretty much do whatever you want." Golden said.
"I know to use my powers only when necessary, plus I've learned my lesson from letting my rage get to me.'
"Foxy?"
"Foxy."
"That fox was always a mystery to me...I think he's much more powerful than the rest of us. And my brother really can lead a good team."
"Freddy and his friends really did get the job done...not bad."
Golden noticed a tiny smile forming on Springtrap's face.
"Hey guys look at the news." Bon Bon pointed out.
The new reporter looked nervous as police, ambulances and firefighters were downtown saving any remaining people and stopping the fires.
"Breaking News here in downtown Striker City, chaos erupted just a couple of hour ago where a large army of shadow clones began to rampage on the town and destroy it. Witnesses reported seeing a group of animals stop them all with various weapons and eventually defeated the leaders of this army. We wanted to get an interview with them but they were already gone. Unfortunately on this day, over 200 people were killed in this event and many more were injured. The town itself is destroyed and no telling how long it will take to repair the damage. For now, it's best to stay in your homes...or move." The reporter said.
"Wow...sure we like to cause damage to the city...but those Shadow Creatures went totally overboard." Bonnie said.
"Yeah...well we may be stuck around here for awhile." Chi Chi sighed.
"It won't be that bad will it?" Chica asked.
"Eh, it's a good thing I don't hang around with you guys all the time." Nette said.
"Because you can't handle a little trouble Marion!" Golden said.
Nette turned to him and growled.
"DAMN IT GOLDEN!"
"Hey! I may be on your side now...but I'm still a mischievous bear." Golden gritted his sharp teeth.
"You really haven't changed much have you?" Bonnie said.
"The only thing I've changed is not trying to destroy you guys."Golden smirked.
"I wonder how those two are doing." Mangle said.
"I'll go check on them." Golden said.
He went upstairs to Freddy's room and spotted the two just waking up. Golden still felt sympathy for Freddy and Foxy, the two had gotten pretty battered during the rooftop fight. Freddy had bandages over his head, chest and his left arm. He also had a busted lip, ruffled fur and black eye. Foxy had missing fur, bruised cheek and bandages around his head and chest. Foxy transforming into Golden Foxy didn't heal any of his injuries, just the feeling of pain for a moment.
"Hey brother, you feeling alright?" Golden asked.
"Ugh...huh oh hey Golden. I've been better." Freddy said.
"Arr, me head." Foxy rubbed his head.
Golden playfully rubbed his brother's head and he giggled.
"Golden stop, he-he, that hurts."
Foxy smiled seeing the brothers laughing with each other, it was better than seeing them choking each other to death.
"Freddy we need to talk." Golden said.
"Sure brother, what about?" Freddy asked.
Golden took off his hat and sat it down on the dresser next to the bed.
"Forgiveness. Freddy, I know I've treated you so badly over the years, called you names, beaten you up, ruining stuff for you. But I really want to apologize...and start over. I'm not that Golden anymore, I'm a new Golden, and this one promises to take care of his little brother and love him unconditionally. I'm still shocked you even listened to me when Fredrick had my body. I know deep down you still hate me, I just wish I could've been a better brother."
Golden actually started to break down, something Freddy had never seen before. Freddy sat up and grabbed Golden's shoulders.
"Golden! No matter what you did, I never hated you. I always loved you even if you hated me. I used to cry at night thinking maybe this was all a dream and you were nice to me and I loved to have those dreams. You're my brother, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for you. One day you could beat the shit out of me, but if you got in trouble with someone or got in a death-defying situation, I'd be there." Freddy said.
Freddy was also breaking down, Foxy knew not to say a word and just listened.
"You would?" Golden asked.
"Yes, I've waited for this moment for a long time...and now...we can finally join together and be the best brothers ever." Freddy said.
Golden grabbed Freddy into a tight bear hug, tears streaming down their faces. Mangle popped her head in and motioned Foxy to try and escape the room. He managed to limp out and fell out of the room but Mangle caught him.
"You okay?' Mangle asked.
"I'm fine...but it's just so touching to see those two getting along." Foxy said, a tear coming down his eye.
Mangle had to wipe a few from her eyes too. It was a glorious sight. The bears separate and just look at each other smiling. To Freddy, Golden looked less scary and intimidating now. He looked almost as normal as Freddy, even with his permanent black eyes with white pupils.
"Golden...what do you think of me as a leader of this gang?" Freddy asked.
"Freddy I think you were born to be a leader, no matter how much I had put you down, you managed to keep your friends by your side. And that's something I could never do..."
Golden pauses to grab Freddy's hat and place it on his head.
"...So continue to do what you're good at." Golden smiled.
Freddy smiled big and hugged his brother again for a few seconds before stopping.
"Come on Freddy, let's go show the others you're okay." Golden said.
The bears followed Foxy and Mangle downstairs where everyone rushed over asking a bunch of questions, everyone except Springtrap who stayed behind. Freddy raised his hands making everyone shut up, then he fixed his bowtie.
"Me and Foxy will eventually make a full recovery, but we should be thankful that the threat is gone and while the city is destroyed...we are not!" Freddy announced.
Everyone cheered and Freddy smiled at all of them. He glanced over to Springtrap who turned away, he looked sad. Freddy rubbed his chin in thought. The next day, very slow production of fixing the town had started...nobody knew how long it would take. The group had split to do their own things. Thunder and Frank stuck around deciding to burn rubber on the streets of the neighborhood knowing no cops would be around to stop them, Mike and Jeremy spent time playing with BB and BG, Bonnie and Bon Bon played a few video game inside Freddy's house, Chica and Chi Chi went for a walk, Freddy told Golden all about several of their misadventures after killing Fredrick, and Foxy and Mangle were talking with Nette on the whereabouts of Springtrap.
"He left before we all did, that was strange. I wonder why he wouldn't talk much." Foxy said.
"Well I can't sense him anywhere, must have blocked all ways to detect him." Nette said.
"I hope he doesn't run away, if he's going to start a new life, he needs guidance." Mangle said.
"The lad's probably still resting after that battle." Foxy said.
"Shouldn't you and Freddy be doing the same? You both took quite a pounding by Shadow Bonnie and Shadow Freddy." Mangle said.
"Aye, I'm not tired, the fact that me and Freddy fell at least 100 stories down that building, that's enough to keep us up and aware for a whole week. And remember how high I was when I escaped from chopper years ago." Foxy said.
"True...so you guys really think Golden has changed for the better?" Mangle asked.
"I think so, we should be able to trust him now." Nette shrugged.
"I feel like I should say something to him." Foxy sighed.
"What do you mean?" Mangle asked.
"I mean I'm the one who killed him in the first place...I should go apologize later." Foxy said.
"Well while you do that, I need to rest again, I could use a vacation." Nette said.
"We all do Marion." Mangle said.
"MANGLE!" Nette shouted.
"MARION, MARION MARION!" Foxy yelled.
As much as Nette wanted to just rip their fur off right now, he decided it was not worth it can only flipped them off.
"Screw you guys, I'm going home." Nette left.
Foxy and Mangle high-foured and laughed. Meanwhile, Chica and Chi Chi were walking through the park when they spotted what looked like Springtrap standing on top of the hill staring off into space or looking at the destroyed town in the distance.
"You think we should talk to him?" Chica asked.
"Not yet." Chi Chi said.
"Well, at least we know where he is." Chica sighed.
"Yeah, let's give him some space, he does prefer to be alone after all." Chi Chi said.
Just then, Thunder and Frank pull up nearby and honk.
"Yo ladies, need a ride anywhere?" Thunder bounced his eye brows.
The chicken look at each other and roll their eyes.
"If you're trying to hit on us then we'll be happy to calls the boys." Chi Chi said.
"NO! No, we're just asking that's all." Frank said giving an angry glare to Thunder.
"Fine, we were ready to go back to the house anyways." Chica said.
She looked back at the hill, only to see that Springtrap was missing. Back with Bonnie and Bon Bon, they were just finishing up a racing game that Bon Bon was losing badly.
"UGH! WHY DO I ALWAYS LOSE AT RACING GAMES!" Bon Bon threw down the controller.
"Because you're not as experienced as I am." Bonnie teased.
Bon Bon punches Bonnie in the arm, which he returns, this goes for 10 more seconds before Bon Bon loses it and leaps onto her brother causing them both to tumble to the ground. Golden and Freddy walk back inside the house laughing when they spot the bunnies tussling on the floor. This made Golden burst into laughter causing the two to stop fighting. Bonnie was on his back pulling down Bon Bon's ears while Bon Bon was in the motion of punching Bonnie in the face.
"Looks like I found another reason to love being back." Golden said.
"What?"
"Watching all of you argue and fight."
"True. I don't think any of us would want to wrestle with you." Freddy said.
"I know you can't, because I can simply do THIS!"
Golden playfully grabs Freddy into a headlock and throws him to the ground.
"Exactly." Freddy groaned from the floor.
Foxy and Mangle sneak in during the little move Golden did and Foxy wanted to join in. He managed to get behind Golden, headlock him and bring him to the floor as well.
"Payback's a bitch." Freddy laughed.
"Nice one Foxy." Golden grinned.
Foxy felt sweat slip down the side of his head when Golden stood back up, he had to tell him.
"Golden...you're not still mad about...you know..." Foxy rubbed the back of head.
"All water under the bridge Foxy, forgive and forget. After all you helped saved my body from Fredrick." Golden shrugged.
While they were talking, Mangle tried to sneak up on Foxy, who sensed her coming.
"Excuse me for a sec." Foxy said to the bears.
He turned around and kicked Mangle in the check knocking her down.
"Damn it, almost had you." Mangle rubbed her chest.
"Nice try sis." Foxy chuckled.
Finally Chica and Chi Chi arrive at the house, Thunder and Frank said they would come by later.
"Hey girls, why do you look so down?" Bonnie asked.
"We found Springtrap by the park, but he seemed very upset." Chi Chi said.
"Oh no." Golden said.
"What?" Freddy asked.
"Last night Springtrap mentioned that today was his birthday...and he didn't think it mattered since he'd never know what it will be like to be truly happy again." Golden said.
"Aw, poor Springtrap. We need to show him that he's doesn't have to be alone, especially when he has us. But where could he be?" Freddy said.
"He might have went back to his apartment, I should go check." Chi Chi said.
"I'll get ya there quicker." Golden said.
"Good, and hopefully he comes because I think we should create a little party for him, nothing too big, but we need to show that we care. Foxy call Nette, we may need his assistance."
"Okay."
Golden teleports Chi Chi to the apartments where she rings his doorbell. At first she couldn't hear any footsteps coming towards the door.
"I sense him inside, his emotions are really down." Golden whispered.
"Poor guy, he gets some of his memories back but is still unhappy." Chi Chi whispered back.
Finally they heard footsteps, and the doorknob turned and the door itself creaked open a bit to reveal a single neon green eye.
"What is it?" Springtrap answered.
"I...we...were wondering where have you been. We're worried about you." Chi Chi said.
Springtrap opened the door completely revealing his sad face and tired eyes. He rubbed them and sniffed, had he been crying?
"Why are you worried about me?" Springtrap asked.
"Well you left so quickly last night. And you told me today was your birthday, you don't deserve to be unhappy today Springtrap." Golden said.
"But...I don't even know how to be truly happy...just older." Springtrap said.
"Look Springtrap, we want to make you happy. You just have to still trust us, we don't want you to be alone." Chi Chi said.
"Yes, come with us back to Freddy's house, please." Golden said.
"You need to be around people who care. I'll never know what it's like to be in the position you were in, but I saw change in you...we all did. And we all owe you." Chi Chi said.
Springtrap couldn't stop tears falling down his face again and Golden hugged him. Chi Chi knew Springtrap wasn't always a mean, selfish or ill-tempered bunny, he couldn't have been. They were seeing the slow process of the Springtrap from before the car crash.
"I don't know if you like surprises...but you might get one." Golden told him.
"Okay...that's fine." Springtrap wiped away his tears.
They arrived back at Freddy's house, all the lights were off. Springtrap could feel his inner happiness begging to be shown, but he kept his serious face even if he mentally excited.
"Power outage?" Springtrap asked.
"I hope not, otherwise Nette would be creating another stupid story." Chi Chi rolled her eyes.
"Nette tells stories?" Golden asked.
As they walked in, from behind the couch, Freddy counted down with his fingers.
3...2...1...
The lights snapped making Springtrap jump a bit.
"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPRINGTRAP!"
Springtrap looked in amazement as everyone was there cheering and clapping for him. With his memory screwed up, he felt as if this was his first birthday ever...and it was awesome. There was a large cake, balloons, a banner with "Happy 22nd Birthday Springtrap" written on it...and of course boxes of pizza.
"You guys did all this...for me?" Springtrap asked.
"Of course dude. You deserve it...we're your friends." Freddy came over.
Springtrap was speechless, he couldn't say anything. Then everyone gasped as a large smile, the biggest smile they've ever seen, appeared on Springtrap's face, he started to cry in joy. He felt like a little kid again...and it was a great feeling. Everyone including Freddy, Golden, Chica, Chi Chi, Bonnie, Bon Bon, the parents, Foxy, Mangle, Nette, Thunder, Frank, BB, BG, Mike and Jeremy came over forming a large group hug around him.
"I can't...thank you all...enough for this. It's been so long since I've had this feeling..." Springtrap cried.
"We'll be there for ya, always." Foxy said.
A few hours into the party, everyone was having a good time, there was eating, playing, singing and just talking. Freddy was convincing Foxy, Chica, Bonnie and Golden about an opportunity.
"So you think we should ask him?" Freddy asked.
"Of course!" Chica said rubbing her cupcake plushie.
"Seems like it would work." Bonnie shrugged.
"Go for it lad." Foxy said.
"He's got to accept." Golden said.
Freddy turned to Springtrap and heavily sighed ready to pop the question. He walked to Springtrap who was on his way over to get more pizza.
"Hey Springtrap, you got a minute?"
"Sure."
"Listen, me and the others were talking and...maybe you'd like a spot in the Fazbear Gang." Freddy offered.
Springtrap was surprised, though a little conflicted. He was so used to being alone and he had no troubles...then again...there were times when he wanted to talk to somebody about his problems, but instead he would talk to himself. These guys were offering him so much, despite everything he did to them. How could even have the nerve to turn these guys down, people who fought for him, wanted to help him, and did? He looked past Freddy to see Foxy, Bonnie, Chica and Golden looking at him. He could've sworn Chica's cupcake looked worried too.
"Freddy Fazbear...I accept the opportunity." Springtrap smiled.
Freddy and Springtrap shake hands as the others cheer. Springtrap had never felt this grand in his life. Just then...a new memory emerged into his mind, he stepped back a bit and grabbed his head.
"What's wrong? Another memory?" Freddy asked.
Everyone had stopped partying when they saw Springtrap back into a wall. When the pain was over a few seconds later, he looked up with a large grin.
"What happened lad?" Foxy asked.
"I remember, a memory from childhood. I remember doing it all the time when it was clear night...watching the stars." Springtrap said.
"Actually the skies are pretty clear right now and their are a lot of stars out." Bon Bon looked out a window.
"Hey, that's a great idea, we can move this party outside on the hill in the back. What do you think Freddy?" Chica asked.
Everyone thought it was a good idea and Freddy agreed. And so they all grabbed any pizza, cake and drinks they could before moving to the large hill outside. Nothing but clear skies and beautiful stars covering the sky. Everyone complimented the sky and the surprisingly warm weather. Springtrap sat between Foxy and Freddy and just stared at the sky.
"What I wouldn't give to experience this as a child again." Springtrap whispered to himself.
Suddenly just as he finished saying that, he zoned out and looked around. Only he, Freddy, Foxy, Chica and Bonnie were sitting their, another difference was...he and them four were all little kids, looking exactly how Springtrap remembered them in his memories. Even Chica had her cupcake despite never owning it back then. They continued to stare up into the sky.
"I wish I could count all those stars." Bonnie said.
"I wonder how many look like pizza!" Chica said.
"This sure is a beautiful sight." Freddy commented.
"Aye, I wonder if any pirates have been able to go to space." Foxy wondered.
Springtrap said nothing and looked at all of them...he really felt at peace and at home. Then he is suddenly brought back to reality when Foxy nudged him.
"Ye all right lad?" Foxy asked.
"Yes...just thinking." Springtrap nodded.
He looked back towards the stars where he noticed something interesting about them. He could see what looked like a constellation of himself as a child smiling and looking straight at him. Springtrap smiled back knowing that while he may not ever remember the happiness his childhood gave him, he was glad he had new friends that could bring him the happiness he's wanted for a long time and new adventures along the way.
His struggles were over...and that's all that mattered...
The End...
*Cue FNAF 3 good ending music*
And there you have it everyone...the final end of this story...and probably the rest of this series. I appreciate everyone who have stuck with this series since the first scene of the first "Struggles on a Hook" where Foxy was escaping police. I can't believe I actually got this far...and it's over. I almost cried to be honest just like I admittedly teared up at the good ending of FNAF 3. All these characters were amazing to use and I had fun writing their roles. And now for me, I'm taking another break from Fanfiction...whenever I get back, I'll be writing stories for other franchises...but may come back to FNAF at some point. And so my friends, I hoped you've enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
UNTIL NEXT TIME, KINGSTRIKER OUT!
