The joyful feeling Caroline woke to bubbled in her chest as she remembered whose neck her face was crammed into and how they came to be in this position. Usually, this was how they slept. Klaus' arms tightly wrapped around her thin waist while his face deeply hidden in her golden locks, the cool breath released from his mouth sending chills down her spine. Her arms were usually around his neck to hold him tightly to her figure while she hid her face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his scent that she's memorized from all the months of waking up like this.

Caroline smiled against his skin when she felt his arms tighten around her. He left soft butterfly kisses down the side of her head, up and down her neck, and across her cheek as he pulled her face from his neck to kiss her lips. With her arms still around Klaus' neck, she, gently, pulled them up to a sitting position while their lips molded together. A perfect fit. Pulling apart with smiles across their faces, they left their foreheads touching and intertwined their hands.

"Good morning," Klaus whispered to her, his voice still a bit scruffy from sleep.

"Good morning," Caroline whispered back. Their eyes met and she could see some of the bags that were left from the nights he sat at the bedside, waiting for her to get better, had disappeared with the sleep. "You're looking better," she noted.

He chuckled at her comment, "Aren't I the one who's suppose to tell you that?"

"Not after having not slept for days. You needed the sleep," Caroline told him sternly.

"You're right, as usual. I've slept and now I feel wonderful," he said before kissing her cheek lightly, "And I have you in my arm, safe. I feel spectacular."

She giggled slightly and pecked his lips, "But you still need to sleep at some point."

Klaus smirked a little before going in for more of Caroline's intoxicating lips. They held the taste of her cherry lip gloss that made him think of her every time he smelt cherries. Their soft kisses soon escalated to a full on make out session as they quickly devoured each others mouths. As their tongues battled for dominance, Klaus turned them over and laid them down with him on the top. With one of his hands holding her face and another creeping up her shirt, Caroline moaned into his mouth causing him to growl slightly. His hand had almost gotten to her bra when loud footsteps came down the hall, stopping at their door, and banging on it loudly.

"Nik, Caroline, get your butts out of bed and your mouths off each other! Some people would like to be able to eat without your pre-sex moaning!" Rebekah shouted from the other side of the door. From a distance they could hear Stefan's laughter filling the kitchen and Elijah's deep sigh at his sister's bluntness.

Caroline almost laughed at her bluntness as well but her mouth was still occupied by Klaus', who growled even more after hearing his sister. She pulled away and was engulfed in a fit of giggles. Klaus forgot about his sister at that moment, for all he could focus on was the blond beauty giggling under him. Her hair had fanned out on the pillow creating a halo like image that he couldn't wait to get on paper, for she was his muse and she probably didn't even realize it yet. Caroline stopped laughing after opening her eyes and looking up to her love who was still on top of her with a wide smile on his face, listening to her laugh.

"We should get up Nik," she whispered with a loving smile on her face. When he didn't say anything, Caroline went up and kissed him softly. Pulling away with a small smile, "Besides, we have a city to run."

A few days ago, Klaus killed his protege, the uncrowned king of New Orleans, to save Caroline. Not once during that time did he ever think about what he gained by killing Marcel. The witches at his call, vampires by his side, and a city in the palm of his hand. He is back on top, he is king of New Orleans once again. But this time, things will be different. He will not rule by fear but by respect for Caroline will be at his side to show him right and wrong.

Klaus looked at her with a small smile of surprise and shock on his face. The shock and surprise were quickly replaced with a warm smile that filled Caroline's heart. "And to think while I was worried about you, you were thinking about running the city," he teased her.

"Don't be like that, I know you're happy about this," she snapped at him in a jokingly fashion.

He pulled them up so they were sitting up once again and cupped her face in his hands. "I am. But I would choose you over this city any day, just like I did when you were taken," Klaus kissed her so softly it almost felt like their lips didn't even touch, "You, Caroline, are my main priority. Always."

"I know," she kissed him again, "but we do need to get up. Your sister might kill us."

Klaus smiled and nodded, "That she might."

In a swift movement, Caroline was lifted from her spot on the bed as Klaus carried her towards the bathroom. She let out a squeak of surprise at the presence of his playful side. He chuckled lightly before setting her down on the tiled floor and wrapping his arms around her. As Caroline had her arms around his neck, Klaus slowly pulled at the hem of her shirt until it came over her head and was discarded on the floor. His hand came up under her chin and gently pulled her lips to his.

Their kiss was slow and sensual, lust and love clouding their minds as their lips stuck together. Klaus' arms came around back to her bra and unclasped it easily, pushing the straps down her shoulders and letting it fall to the ground. All the while, Caroline's hands made their way to his jean button to undoing it. This continued between the two lovers until they were skin to skin, letting the water run down their bodies while in the shower.

"Do you know what's worse than pre-sex moaning?" Rebekah asked them as they walked down the stair to the kitchen, both still wet from their shower. Her hands were on her hips and her face was a light shade of red as she looked between Klaus and Caroline. "Moaning during and after sex! Ugh, I don't know if I can even look at you two without those sounds coming to my head," she snapped, letting her eyes wander to any spot but them.

Caroline's face turned a deep shade of red as she turned her face away from her, the embarrassment of Rebekah's words sneaking into her mind. She didn't need to look to know Klaus was glaring at his sister, probably trying to remember where his daggers were. She could hear Stefan's attempts to hold his laughter in as he sat in the living room reading and drinking. Caroline let go of Klaus' hand and followed the sound of his voice until she was standing right in front of him.

"Something funny?" She asked him, crossing her arms over her chest.

Stefan looked up at her innocently, a small smile on his face. "Well, those moans were quite loud . . . " he told her. Rebekah burst into laughter from behind them, unable to hold herself up anymore. Caroline and Stefan looked at her and watched as Klaus couldn't contain his smile any longer. Caroline started to laugh a little with them, falling to the couch next to Stefan. As her giggles subsided, she looked to Stefan with a smile. "God I missed you," he said softly, pulling her into his arms.

She chuckled lightly in his arms, "I'm alright, Stef, really. Thank you for coming down to find me." She rubbed her hands up and down his back in a comforting manner, feeling the shift in his mood.

"I don't know what I would have done if I lost you," he muttered into her shoulder. She was his best friend, his blood bag buddy, his reminder of what he didn't want to become. Caroline was his light as much as he was Klaus', she kept him on the right path. He wouldn't survive if she was gone.

Caroline sighed softly. "I know, Stef. I know," she whispered to him, stroking his hair gently. She glanced at Klaus and he understood, the jealousy slowly dying down. He always had to remind himself that Caroline and Stefan were best friends, nothing more, or else the Salvatore might have been dead a long time ago.

Stefan pulled back from her and looked into her eyes. He held her face in his palms, checking her eyes for answers she wasn't going to say. "I need to be getting home. If Damon and Elena come back and find the house empty she might freak," he told her. Caroline nodded and hugged him tightly. He kissed the side of her head and let her go so he could grab his bag, which was already packed and waiting for him by the door. Stefan sent a nodded of thanks to the Originals, one that was reciprocated, before exiting the house and making his way to the road to catch a cab to the airport.

Klaus came over and sat with Caroline on the couch, pulling her into his lap quickly. Rebekah watched the two of them and shook her head at how they acted towards each other. Love. She sighed and walked up the stairs, grabbing her purse and walking back downstairs. "Matt said he was coming down tomorrow so I'm going out. Elijah's in his study if you need him," she told them as she made her way to the door.

"Thank you for letting us know, sister," Klaus snarked at her, his lips forming a smirk as he did. Caroline hit him on the chest for that, but he just laughed a little and tightened his arms around her waist. Rebekah rolled her eyes and left the house.

Caroline sat back into Klaus' chest and closed her eyes, taking in the serine moment they were sharing before it was interrupted like it always was. He brought one of his hands up to her hair and moved it off to the side so he could place soft kisses down her neck. This made Caroline moan slightly and move her head to give him more access, which he took without hesitation. She opened her eyes to see the balcony door open, as they were on the second floor, and could hear all the hustle and bustle of the city she had come accustom to. Taking advantage of the fact that Klaus was quite distracted at the moment, she pulled herself out of his grasp and took his hand to pull him with her.

"Oh come, will you. Please Nik?" she asked when he didn't move. Klaus rolled his eyes and stood up with a smile, allowing her to pull him to the balcony. He didn't understand what she was trying to show him, all he saw was the city. Nothing too special. Caroline hugged him from behind, "Isn't this what you wanted? To be king of New Orleans?"

Klaus smirked, he understood as he placed his hands on hers and intertwined their fingers. "I told you that I would rather have you save in my arms than be king any day," he told her, bring their hands up to kiss her palms.

She smiled as she kissed his shoulder, "Alright, but besides keeping me safe this is what you wanted."

He pulled her around him and leaned her against the railing. out of instinct, Caroline let go of his hands and wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him close. One of Klaus' arms wrapped around her waist to keep them together. "It is one of many things that I wanted, especially because I get to do it with you by my side," he told her.

"So if you're the king of New Orleans, does that make me queen?"

Klaus chuckled before leaning down to capture her lips ever so lightly. "I guess that would, my love," he replied as he pulled away. Their foreheads were touching, the cool breath sending shivers down both of their spines.

"My King," Caroline whispered with a smile, liking the way it rolled off her tongue.

Klaus smiled and kissed her again. "My Queen."

Sorry for taking so long, but I've been thinking a lot about the future of this story and let me tell you that I have some good ideas. Also, don't know if you guys have heard but it has been confirmed the Klaus will be back in Mystic Falls for the hundredth episode of TVD. I'm hoping for some very good Klaroline that will keep me enticed because, if not, I don't know if I will be able to continue to watch the shows because my heart will be shattered into a million pieces (Ok, I'm over reacting just a bit). And do I need to go into details on how awesome and heart breaking this weeks episode of TO was (Klaus' crying literally broke my heart to the point where I had tears in my eyes)? Alright, rant over. I think I might be doing between ten to twenty more chapters depending how much time I have to write and how much I put into each chapter just to let all of you know. So thanks for reading. Remember to review and add this to your favorite and followed stories. And I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving or just a happy normal day. :)
