LUKE STEALS MY POINTS (AND IDENTITY)
A ruler slapped on my desk as I struggled to wake up. Everyone in the class snickered at me as they noticed the pile of drool building up on my cloak. Great. Just great.
"Percy!" Snape snapped, "Did you hear my question?"
"Uh…is the answer false?"
"5 points from Gryffindor." He stated as he looked around the class for another poor soul to torment.
"Luke." He said looking at someone behind me, "Do you know the answer?"
"It's the wideye potion. Obviously."
Snape developed a smirk and looked right at me, "5 points to Slytherin."
I began to whip my head around to see the annoying jerk who stole my points away and gasped. How could he be here? Isn't he too old for this class in the first place? And why doesn't anyone care? He's definitely here to kill me. Hermione said that I'm not supposed to be alive, and being a demi-god hated by the wizarding community didn't make this situation any better.
"Why are you here?" I shouted not thinking before I spoke.
"What are you talking about?" The seriously annoyingly attractive surfer blond dude stated, "I've always been in this class."
I looked around and noticed everyone was staring at me like I was insane and my eyes fell on Harry for some reassurance that I'm right. But he too gave me a weird look. "He's always been here Percy..what are you talking about?
Snape began to march towards me, greasy hair and all, with a wild look in his eyes, "Do not interrupt my class again."
The rest of the class is a complete blur of me trying to register what just happened. How come everyone just accepted the fact some random kid is now pretending to be a Slytherin? Is Snape involved? If he wanted to kill me, why wouldn't he just do it? Why was he coming up with this elaborate scheme?
Before I knew it the class was over and Luke was walking towards me. "So Percy, it looks like we need to talk."
"Yeah. I think we do." I said walking over to him. He laughed and grabbed my shoulder dragging me out to an empty corner in the hallway. "This is too easy. You're so weak Percy. Gods, before this whole debacle you would have tried to slice me open by now."
"Who are you?"
Luke put his wand on my chest and replied, "Who am I, Percy? Who are you?"
I pointed my wand at him, "Why are you here? Where's Annabeth?"
He started to laugh, "Come on Percy, we both know you don't know how to use that."
Suddenly a realization hit me and I took my pen out of my pocket. Luke's eyes grew in fear and now it was my turn to laugh. "I might not be able to use my wand, but it appears you know what this is. And from your eyes apparently I'm really good at using it."
"You won't hurt me. Not here. Not in front of your friends. And if you want Annabeth back, you better follow exactly what I say and do. And remember," He said pointing to his wand, "I do know how to use this."
Harry and Ron grabbed me before the situation got any worse and took me to the Gryffindor common room.
"What happened?" Harry said, "What did Luke want with you? It's not like he's part of Draco's group. He hasn't really bothered us all year."
"Do you remember him before all this at all? He's never been at Hogwarts before! He's the guy! The guy from Diagon Alley!"
Run scrunched his eyebrows, "What? You've gone bonkers mate."
Harry looked at me with a face of realization "You're right Percy."
"What?" I said astounded.
Percy, I think you're right. I vaguely remember Luke; I don't really have any real clear memory of him."
Then something hit me. Something all demi-gods can see through but not mortals. Don't you just love how when a little bit of my memory does come back it just leaves me with more questions? "He used the mist."
"The mist?" Harry stated.
I shook my head. "I don't know. It's a trick. I'm starting to remember, at least this. It puts thoughts into people's heads, and if he was able to do it to the entire school, he's a powerful demi-god and-" Suddenly I started to realize something. Luke has to be a demi-god or he wouldn't be able to use the mist. But he threatened me with his wand. Great not only does Luke have the only person I remember from my past life captive, he's probably the most powerful person ever too.
"He's both. He's a demi-god and a wizard. One of his parents is a god, and the other one has to be a wizard."
"Like you?" Harry added.
"No. If you haven't noticed, I haven't been able to do one spell since I got here."
"Wait...so if Luke hasn't been here the entire year," Ron stated, "Why is he here now?"
"I don't know," I replied. "But it can't be good. I – I need some air."
I made my way outside not caring for class and go and sit by the lake. Even after all that's happened today the serene water always seems to put me in a better mood.
Poseidon. Once Hermione said it I knew it was true as much as I didn't want it to be. This just topped the cake and confirmed that wherever I came from before my memories were taken isn't safe for me anyway. That no matter where I go or what I do, someone is always going to be hunting me down. Maybe it's just better to stop struggling and let my past life fade and stay at Hogwarts forever.
"So, what's the water freak doing missing his classes?"
I turn around to see Jack standing there laughing.
"Don't start with me right now. Please." I growled through my teeth.
"What's wrong, Percy? Awww, did Snape give you a hard time again?"
"STOP!" I screamed, suddenly an oh so now familiar roar started behind my ears and once I looked up he was covered in water from the lake. Crap. Not again.
"What the hell, Jackson?" Jack replied, "Don't forget. I know who you are. And if it wasn't for Luke, I'd let the whole school know in a split second." He marched off, no doubt to go snitch to Snape. In the corner of my eye I saw Luke smirking and leaning against a tree.
I began to march over to him. I don't know who I am, why this is happening to me, or what even is happening. But he knows. And he's going to help me get to the bottom of this.
"WHO AM I?" I shouted getting so close to his face someone from far away might have thought we were leaning in for a nice romantic kiss.
"Tsk tsk tsk, Percy. You're still asking the wrong questions, aren't you? I still can't believe this. You're so weak, so ignorant." Luke handed me a crumpled up picture. "Be there. Or you don't want to know what will happen to her."
"Be where?"
He smirked and began to walk away.
I opened up the picture and gasped.
"Annabeth."
