Chapter 10
"Ms Maple?" said a young voice.
May took her eyes away from her book to see that all the students were surrounding her desk.
"Yes what is it?" May asked.
"Can you tell us another one of you're stories about the trainer Red?" one of the boys asked.
May then took a quick glance at clock before answering the children.
"Well we do have a bit of time, did you all finish your work?"
the children nodded there heads in unison as they sat on the floor around the desk.
"Alright then, I'll tell you the story of when Red and Sapphire got separated from there friends on Donphan island,"
"Oooh" the children said.
"They were on their way to Sapphire's next Pokemon contest, but they then got separated when the evil Rocket Gang tried to steal Red's pikachu again,"
"Those guys never give up do they" said one of the girls.
May smiled and said "Nope, they never do, anyways so Red and Sapphire found themselves near the port were the ship to the contest was about to leave, Red told sapphire that she should go because it was her last chance to enter the grand festival, but Sapphire made a promise to her mother that she would never leave Emerald, so she told Red that she had to keep that promise, so they eventually met back with Emerald and Brian, and then the boatman Carlos said he got his boat up and running again so they were able to go to Sapphires next contest,"
The students silently clapped, and one of them raised there hand.
"Yes Steve?"
"Are all these stories you keep telling us true Mss. Maple?" asked the little boy.
May smiled and said "Well what do you think?"
Suddenly the bell rang signaling the children to go home.
May opened her eyes to find herself lied down on a king sized bed, she looked around in confusion she then saw three sleeping bags surrounding the bed.
in the sleeping bag in front of the bed, a man with Brown hair was sleeping, she recognized him as Gary, and in the sleeping bag on the right side was a girl with orange hair, it was Misty, and on the left side laid Ash, but he was not asleep, he was reading.
"Ash?" may asked.
Ash set his book down and looked at May. "Oh hey, you're awake,"
"Yeah,"
An awkward silence came, causing May to feel a bit uncomfortable, so she decided to say something.
"So where are we?"
"were on the Battle Pyramid," replied Ash
"Wait you mean its flying?"
"Yup" Ash replied simply.
"But shouldn't someone be piloting it?"
"We put it on auto pilot, its not like were going anywhere,"
"But I thought you said we were going to stop those guys who want us to release our Pokemon?"
"Yeah, but then I realized We had to come up with a plan first, so were just going to be hovering over Kanto until I can come up with one,"
"Oh"
the silence returned, Ash returned to reading his book. but May continued to stare at him, didn't he hate her for kissing him yesterday?
"Ash, I'm sorry,"
Ash glanced up at May with a confused face.
"About what?"
"About the…k-kiss" she said as she blushed heavily.
Ash blushed as well as he kept his eyes on his book. "Oh yeah, that,"
"Its ok if you hate me,"
Ash's face then went serious "Hate you? May I could never hate you, its just that i'm not really ready for another relationship, especially after what happened withe Serena,"
"oh," May said sadly.
"Plus, it wouldn't be right especially since you have Drew,"
the mention of May's boyfriend suddenly brought something to her attention. he didn't come with her, he didm;t even try to defend her when her father tried to stop her from helping Ash, he just stood there. was he really serious about giving his Pokemon to those people?
The sudden realization made May cry silently. Ash noticed this and immediately felt guilty.
"May don't cry, I mean if I hadn't just gotten divorced I probably would date you,"
May began to cry louder "No, its not that,"
May's crying caused Gary and Misty to wake up.
"What's going on?" said Gary.
"Hey May what's wrong?" asked Misty
"D-Drew didn't even…..he doesn't even…," May then began crying heavily, witch caused Ash to get onto the bad and embrace her.
"Its alright, just please stop crying," Ash whispered to her as she cried on his shoulder.
Gary and Misty looked at the two with sympathy, this was going to be some adventure.
