True to Regina's word Emma did not have any nightmares and when she woke up the the sun was all but gone from the sky.
Regina was still working on the same papers she had been writing on when Emma passed out. As Emma peaked out of the very comfortable covers; she noticed one difference, Regina was wearing glasses. Emma gulped, her desire for the former queen flared to life. She didn't really have a particular type in either males or females, but the glasses looked good on Regina. At that moment she reminded Emma of a sexy irritated librarian.
Regina heard the shift of Emma in her bed and looked up to see Emma watching her. Regina shifted uncomfortably at the intense bright hazel eyes staring at her.
"It's late," Emma whispered softly.
Regina nodded. Hurrying to take off her glasses, feeling self conscious and irritated because of it. No one had seen her with her glasses, ever. In the enchanted forest she had her magic to assist her eyes, however when she cursed the town, she found her eyes faltering, and she had no choice but to get glasses. Since magic had returned she could have just as easily fixed her eyes again, but at this point wearing them was more of habit than anything. She really only needed them if she were reading, anyway.
"Watcha looking at?" Emma asked softly, not really expecting answer.
"This chicken scratch that your mother calls handwriting. Honestly, she was a princess and I know she had some of the best tutors in all the lands. If I had truly been a monster, I would have placed her teaching one of the younger grades. That would really have been a curse; inflicting this mess on small children to decipher," Regina said in dry tone.
Emma could not help herself and giggled. Regina looked up in surprise at the utterly adorable noise that came the blonde. Her facial features softened.
"Are you hungry Emma?" She asked.
"Starving actually," Emma said,"I guess you and the kid already ate. What did you tell him by the way? I mean he must have heard me snoring," Emma said give a small self deprecating smile.
"Henry is not here. I asked Charming to take him," Regina said, rolling her eyes.
"What's that for?"
"Your father turned a quick conversation into a nearly 30 minute long asinine tribute to the finer points of your little brother."
Emma ducked her head so Regina couldn't see the hurt on her face. It was stupid of course they where gushing, they were new parents, all new parents did that. It still hurt.
"What are you fixing?" Emma asked, eager to change the subject.
"You'll see," Regina said giving her a mysterious smile.
"No hint?" Emma said with big pleading eyes.
"Save it Emma," Regina said with a smirk,"You forget I spent nearly eleven years with Henry, and he had perfected that look by the time he was two. I had to build up an immunity to it quickly."
"Yeah but I am the original," Emma said returning the smirk,"The kid's was diluted, mine is the pure thing."
Regina made a noncommittal noise, and walked towards the door.
"Supper won't take long, but you do have time to make yourself look presentable," Regina said stopping at the door.
"Wait I'm weak and stuff, shouldn't I get to eat in bed," Emma asked with a cheeky grin.
"You must still be delusional if you think I'm going to let you eat in my bed and run the risk of stains and worse crumbs.'
"Ahah! I now know that whatever we will be eating can stain and will have crumbs!"
Regina rolled her eyes.
"Get dressed and get downstairs," Regina said.
Emma spent a couple of minutes more cuddling in what she was sure was the world's comfiest bed. Not only was it warm and soft; it also smelt like Regina, which was comforting on some level and nerve wracking on another. Even though she had been given one instance of nightmare free sleep, she could still remember the horrific dreams. She shook her head and got up to get dressed, pushing the dark thoughts and memories down and away from her conscious.
She went to see what that enticing smell was.
Emma padded into the kitchen barefooted, and watched as Regina moved about with a comfort and ease that Emma envied. She couldn't make toast without setting something on fire or breaking something.
Regina was humming softly to herself as she let the sauce on the stove bubble. She was swathed in a bright frilly apron that looked well worn. Emma almost giggled at the little dancing bananas on it. She turned around and nearly jumped out of her skin. She glared at Emma her cheeks coloring.
"How long have you been standing there, Ms. Swan?" She snapped.
Emma shrank back and Regina's sharp tone kicking herself for being stupid and not saying anything.
"I'm sorry I was just curious to see what that really good smell was," Emma mumbled, shoving her hands in her pockets. Regina recognized it as one of Emma's nervous ticks. She tried to calm her irritation down. This was the second time in one evening that the blonde had caught her in an embarrassing situation. It made Regina uncomfortable to think that Emma knew these intimate details. If things between them ended badly the Savior might use them to humiliate her.
As if reading Regina's mind Emma gave her a small reassuring smile.
"You know whatever happens between us is gonna stay between us right? And don't mean just the, um, stuff in the study," Emma said shifting nervously and looking down a faint color to her cheeks.
Rather than acknowledge what Emma said, Regina focused on an aspect about Emma that she found absolutely fascinating.
"Emma,"Regina purred,"What exactly do we do in my study?"
She parted her lips and leaned her head to the side, her dark eyes boring into Emma.
Emma shifted uncomfortably.
"You know,"She mumbled.
Regina closed the distance between the two stopping only when she was close enough to the other woman to feel the warmth of her body.
"I want to hear you say it, Emma," She said her voice taking on the husky alluring cadence.
Emma shook her head, and ducked her head a little. Regina leaned in her breath brushing against Emma's ear, Emma jerked, but didn't move. It was as if she was tethered to Regina with an invisible chord.
"Emma," Regina breathed into her ear,"Be a good girl, and I'll give you a reward."
Emma's breath hitched and she looked back up at Regina, normally they were the same height however at this moment Regina was wearing heels and Emma was barefooted. Seeing the former queen tower over her, made her nervous, but, at this moment, it aroused her even more. She watched Regina's mouth and licked her lips. It was impossible with the brunette standing so close to her, for Emma to look into the dark bottomless depths of Regina's eyes.
"You dominate me and I submit to you,"She breathed arching herself forward, desperate fer their bodies to touch.
Regina's breath caught and a low growl escaped her throat. She moved into Emma's body as it arched up.
"Good girl,"She purred stroking Emma's back as if she were a beloved pet.
"Are you ready for your reward?"
Emma moaned in response.
"Good," Regina said lowering her head, her lips inches away from Emma's,"Dinner is ready."
She pulled away and walked over to the stove and got a large pot. Holding it carefully so as not to spill it She walked past the place where Emma stood rooted to the floor, her mouth agape.
Regina stopped at the door.
"Are you coming?" She asked in an seemingly innocent tone, before she turned and strode into the dining room leaving Emma by herself in the kitchen.
Emma shook her head in disbelief.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" She said finally and walked into the dining room.
