A/N: Next chapter! I'm happier with this chapter than the last. This is more or less a Zammie chapter but nothing to forward just yet! Please please review!
No need to tell me however how VERY cliché this chapter will be.
Oh and I changed my pen name I'm now: LiveLifeLikeMe
Disclaimer: You know who owns what.
"That tomorrow can wait, for some other day to be, but right now there's just you and me..."
Cameron's eyes fluttered open as the car came slowly to a halt. Her eyebrows furrowed as she didn't recognise the area.
"Where are we?" She inquiered quietly.
"This is a place I always come to relax." He stated as he grabbed a back pack from the back. Looking at her intently he added, "You're the first person I ever brought here."
Cammie widened her eyes in surprise. "Why would you bring me of all people to this place? A person who says she dislikes you with a passion and who isn't even nice to you?" She asked slightly shocked.
"Because I think that like me, you live with a cover. I don't believe in your confident exterior or in your hatered for me. You live hidden behind your lies just like me." He shrugged and climbed out of the car and started walking away. Glancing over his shoulder at her, he said, "You coming or not?"
Looking around quickly she hurried out and slammed the door shut. Hearing a satisfying click of all the doors locking; Cameron installed several emergency bugs around the area so that there would be no shocks when they came back. Running to catch up with Zachary she slowed down once behind him.
"So how did you find this place?" She inquired, genuinly curious.
"I was just driving around one afternoon when I ended up here. Ran out of gas and while I was waiting for a tow truc to come get me I went for a wallk."
They were walking on a path, an overgrown abandoned path but a trail all the same. Cam was grateful that she had taken off the dress she had put on this morning and had favored a pair of skinny jeans with black boots and a plain shirt because there were arms of poison ivy and thorns reaching to scratch her skin. Roots and plants blocked their way multiple times and they had to get around it by walking in the thigh high grass.
"Is it going to be like this for much longer?"
"No we're almost there." He replied with a shake of his head.
"Almost where?" She asked in exasperation.
Once the last word was out of her mouth she froze as she watched Zachary throw his bag down on a bench and smile as he disapeared behind a tree. Cameron was awestruck. The trees where as tall as she'd ever seen them in real life, with ivy crawling up their thick trunks and their huge branches sheltering them from the sun. Cammie spun around on the spot trying to take in everything at once. There were beautiful plants and flowers growing freely as they pleased and judging by the size and shape of all the things present, this place was old and natural. Except for the bench that was oddly out of place in this wilderness. Zachary came back from where ever he had been a smiled shyly at her. Motioning to the bench he went to sit down and Cammie followed him closely.
"I put the bench here myself."
"I never would have imagined you to come to a place like this."
"There's alot you can't imagine about me." He grinned and Cam smiled back while still looking around.
There was a long silence, that in Cameron's mind was not as awkward as it would have been a week or two ago, heck even yesterday this silence would have been too much to handle for her.
"I can see why you'd come here to calm down and relax." Cammie said to break the silence.
Zach stood up again, fidgeting as if worried about what she was thinking of him now that he had shown her something that no one knew about him.
"I come here to get away from the pressure my mom puts on me and to have some peace and quiet from the paparazzi." He shrugged.
Cameron watched him as his eyes drifted over the scenery. His eyes sparkled as he smiled peacefully and in that moment Cameron's opinion of him was changed forever, for the better.
"I have one more thing to show you." He said rubbing his hands in excitement.
She raised her eyebrows. "I'm impatient to see it."
He stood and held out his hand for her to take. There was no paparazzi, no one to convince, nothing to prove, there was not a single reason for Cameron to take the hand he was offering.
Except that there was one: she wanted to. So she did.
Some might think that something had changed between them in that moment but not really. Zachary had always enjoyed her company and he proved his trust in her by bringing her to this place. And Cammie despite what she wanted to think, deep down she had, from the day she met him realized that she judged him wrongly. Now she was just admitting it to others.
"Are you sure it's safe?" Cammie interrogated for the fifth time as she carefully placed a hand against the bark.
"For the last time yes! I've done it a hundered times and I'm still in one peice am I not?" He reassured, becoming impatient.
Giving in Cameron jumped up to reach his hand and he pulled he rapidly up. They continued to ascend the tree, branch by branch. Finally arriving at the top Cameron noticed a small wooden platform lodged perfectly against three branches. She placed herself on it Zachary right behind her and looked at the hole in the branches. She could see the saw marks and the cut boughs so that there was a nice sized hole giving a nice view of the river and distant hills. It was a breathtaking view. Zach leaned back and smiled. He seemed to be doing that a lot today.
"If you're willing to wait, we can see the sun set." Cameron nodded eagerly and leaned back.
They didn't feel the need to talk and just sat in comfortable silence. As the time passed Cameron's eyelids started getting heavy and ever so slowly she rested her head on Zachary's shoulder. What seemed like five seconds later Cam was gently shaken awake by a beaming Zachary. It had in fact been half an hour and the sun was starting to set. Keeping her head against his shoulder they watched the sun set, it looked like a canopy of soft red butterflies sinking ino the darkest depth of the earth to illuminate it with light and heat. They climbed down and headed back to the car. Cameron checking what her bugs had picked up before getting close to the car itself.
Back at the house Cammie was as exhausted as ever. It was late and they had a long trip ahead of them tomorrow. Zachary accompanied Cameron back to her bedroom and bid her goodnight before going to his own room. Little did he know, Cam pressed her back against the door once it was closed and smiled thoughtfully wondering what had just transpired between them. If Cameron were to be audacious she'd think that they had become friends. Dare she believe it?
"That was an excellent plane ride." Jonas stated happily as they got out of the plane and walked towards the baggage claim hall.
Bex let out a sigh of ecstacy. "Never again will I fly in an airbus. From now on I'm an official client of private jets."
"Do you have all the papers I asked for Liz?" Cameron quiered, getting straight to buisness.
"All here." Elisabeth said proudly as she handed Cam a thick folder.
"Let me take that for you." Zach offered when he noticed Cammie struggling to balance the folder and purse in one hand and the luggage in the other.
"Thank you." She said gratefully as he took the folder.
Getting four carts they stacked all their bags on them and made their way to the exit, the boys deciding to be gallant each took a cart to push. Cam took back the folder once her hands were freed not wanting to lose it from her sight for a moment longer. Grant seemed to be taking more about the airport than the spies in training which Macey who was watching him closely, found suspiscous. Shesettled on keeping a close eye on him and his friend Jonas. She woud figure out what was bugging her about the both of them and why they seemed so familiar.
"It's not very big for a airport of an extremely visited town, is it?" He said, seeming intrigued.
"That's because this is only the small building. The Charles de Gualle airport has two buildings: this one, that's mainly for American continent travelers and the other building which is for the rest of the world and France it's self." Macey explained, having been here before many a time.
"I thought it looked smaller than the last time I was here." Bex observed. "I must have come in from the other building."
They reached the exit and were not surprised to see crowds of photographers standing outside at the ready along with a few curious travelers. As soon as they were out in the open the crowd went wild. Security popped out of thin air and pushed them away to leave enough room for the teenagers to pass. Macey was the first one in the car as she squeaked and ducked her head, making sure her hat was still firmly in place, hiding her hair followed by Bex and Zach. Cameron went in last and they were off to their destination.
"What's this?" Liz inquired, gingerly picking up an article in the room.
"That dear Lizzie is something you do not need to know." Macey responded, grabbing the article and throwing it back into her bag.
The ten hour flight had been endless to say the least and the jet lag did not help. In New York it was 3 in the morning where as in Paris it was 8 in the morning. Deciding that a couple more hours of sleep wouldn't hurt they went to sleep and did nothing for the rest of the day. They rested and discovered the facillities of the luxiorious hotel that Zach and his mother as well as Tina's father had insisted they stay at.
The next day, Tuesday to be exact Cameron was awoken by an ebullient Tina jumping on her bed.
"Wake up Cammie!" She sang.
"What time is it?"
"8 o'clock."
"Really? And why do you want me to wake up?"
"Yes really and because we need to go shopping for tomorrow!" She proclaimed.
"Of course. Let me get ready, shopping won't take more than an hour anyway."
Hearing a disbelieving gasp at that comment she went to the cupboard and pulled out a skirt and a shirt to wear and got changed rapidly and brushed her hair.
"Alright lets go! Macey, Bex and Liz are coming too of course, they're already down stairs waiting for us." Tina informed.
"Wait what?! They're coming too?" She groaned that meant the shopping was going to be a long excrutiating event.
"Naturally!' Cameron zoned out as she started listing all the stores they were going to go to and just 'hmm' and nodded to show that she was "listening".
Perfect, a whole day of shopping, gossiping and being girly. She was going to die before the day was over.
