With all the fights of the first round having been finished, it was onto the second round, which would consist of:

Tien vs Chun

And Krillin vs King Chappa

As Chappa went back into the temple's deck to wait for his own fight, Chun had spoken to him. "I see you yourself noticed that he was quite skilled, yet solely on an ordinary level."

Chappa smirked and nodded. He had been sure to observe all of those that were bound to make the finals and he could tell that the old man Jackie Chun himself was no slouch. Just by the old man commenting on that kid's skills, he knew he himself was far beyond the level of normal.

"Glad you noticed, old man. But don't try to get buddy buddy with me. You and I might end up fighting one another anytime soon now."

Chun smirked and bowed respectfully. "Indeed." However, in his head, the old man knew that Chappa was barely that of super-human strength. He was in that tier of power and skill yet he wasn't anywhere near as high as Roshi himself, however, the old-timer knew to respect King Chappa for his skill, ferocity, and honor as a Martial Artist.

"So the guy wasn't all that strong?" Krillin asked Chun. "I mean, I could see his attacks but he didn't feel all too powerful."

"Yes, I already said he was strong," Chun told Krillin, "but only for an ordinary fighter. Just by you seeing all of his punches and kicks when he showed us tells me just how much you have improved as a fighter.

"But...Yamcha lost and we're just about equals! I also had difficult times against that shrimp."

"Ohoho, that truly could not be helped at all. Those opponents you faced were not any regular Martial Artists. They were extraordinary." He then crouched down and whispered into Krillin's ear. "They're even stronger than your next opponent." He patted Krillin on the back and turned around to head to his next fight. As Roshi walked over to the ring, he knew that he would have to give it his all. Krillin or nobody else stood a better chance against Tien asides from Roshi himself. And even still, the old man himself wasn't all too sure that he himself would come out victorious. Even if he were to win it, it wouldn't be easy-not in the slightest.

With that last comment, Krillin looked over to King Chappa, who was stretching out a bit. Just by seeing him fight, Krillin could tell that this guy wasn't simply just ordinary, but he had a chance? Did he really?

"Well, this certainly did end up an interesting match-up! The champion of the previous tournament, contestant Jackie Chun! And right by us, contestant Tien, who has shown us overwhelming strength! This will surely be the match to watch!"

Tien, looking on as the tournament announced the fight to begin, ignored all the big noise resonating from the crowd. As far as he could tell, it was just him and the old man. By what he had seen from Chun thus far, Tien had a hunch that his opponent hadn't been showcasing his full power all throughout the tournament. "Alright, then. Show me what you can do."

Looking on from afar, Krillin had the utmost confidence in Jackie Chun, a person he blatantly respected more than the person he was going up against. Still, a part of him wasn't able to believe that Chun would end up losing this bout. "Hehehehe, no way Jackie Chun can lose to that jerk! This'll be payback for Yamcha."

Up from behind him came King Chappa, who maintained a serious aura around him. "I wouldn't be too sure if I were you, kid."

"What? Why do you say that?"

"If you couldn't tell, three-eyes had been holding back the entire tournament. Sure enough, the old man has as well but just by what I've been able to gauge thus far, he's perhaps got the edge over the old man. Truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if either won."

Just with that said, the majority of Krillin's confidence had fallen deep down into the pit of his stomach. With such statements coming from a known skilled and experienced fighter such as Chappa himself, Krillin knew not to take much a grain of salt into what he said.

As Tien was the one to initiate the fight, Chun was left with no other option but to block his incoming fist with his very forearm. As the warm-up was truly just beginning, both seemed to be on par for quite a bit. After pushing away a knee of Chun, Tien went for a straight kick to the face that had been ducked.

Getting ahold of Tien's leg, Chun lifted the younger fighter up and over, tossing him away, hoping to get a ring out. However, part of him knew that it just wouldn't be so easy.

And as expected, Tien flipped over, used the ring as leverage, and darted right back to Chun. Roshi hopped over Tien just in the nick of time and pushed himself off the ring using his two hands to get some direct himself over to Tien, who was already on the offensive.

Before everyone knew it, the two skilled fighters were going back and forth, sending strike after strike for one another. Both went at such speeds that it was virtually unable to be seen to the normal naked eye. Next thing the audience knew, Chun and Tien were back on the ring, just mere yards away from one another.

Deciding to keep up the pace, Chun initiated a Zanzoken, faking Tien out with a multitude of afterimages. Tien didn't lose his cool and made sure to pay close attention to Chun's real movements. Just as he noticed a pattern, Tien lifted his right leg from behind and struck Chun right into the chin before the old man could make a move on him.

Just with that hit, Roshi was sent with his back slamming against one of the walls. Luckily for him, it wasn't outside the ring so it didn't count as a ring out. Tien just chuckled in regards to how Chun was performing thus far. "This third eye comes in handy sometimes."

"I see." Chun wiped a bit of blood from his lip. Just by doing what he did, Roshi felt like he had to get a feeling of Tien's skills and he now realized no longer was it the time to hold back. "Now I must get serious." Taking off his upper shirt, Chun tossed it to the side, revealing his scrawny, yet quite ripped physique. Secretly, Roshi had been training for the past three years in preparation so it seemed to have come in handy for his body as well.

Tien dashed for Chun yet again, letting out a battle cry. Moving his hands all around, Tien wanted to make it confusing for his opponent to decipher where his next area of attack would be. Chun remained stoic, read it perfectly, and grabbed Tien's hands just in time, taking the man a back. Subsequent to rendering Tien a hard knee to the shin, he proceeded to punt the man in the chin, sending him off into the sky.

Tien landed back down on one knee, sneering at Roshi. He didn't like what had just happened and took it upon himself to display even more of his power. In a quick burst of speed, which even took Roshi by surprise, Tien kneed Chun right in the chest. Being left defenseless, Chun received a punch to the jaw, which knocked Chun down.

Roshi executed a quick kip up and shot back at Tien with a straight fist to the face. Such power behind Roshi's strike had the three-eye warrior stumbling back as he rubbed against his stricken area.

Everyone, including the crowd, was at a genuine loss for what appeared to be happening. Just standing there, thinking to himself, Tien began to wonder just how such a person as Chun would be able to take him on the way he did. He didn't think that the man was this capable. "I underestimated him...his power outclasses even my own master's..."

Roshi, thinking to himself, realized that Tien truly was far more powerful than what he had given the young man credit for. "Even if he's of a new, superior generation, I can't give up. I'm the only one who can possibly win against him."

"An unusually fierce battle is underway, Jackie Chun versus Tien! I've absolutely no idea how this will turn out!"

"You've got so much strength and promise," Roshi commented, "so why do you hang out with the likes of Tsuru-Sennin?"

"What's it to you? Badmouth my master and you'll get a few broken bones as a reward."

Chun crouched down and got into a battle stance. "Oh? Is that so?"

Tien grinned. "Alright, then. I'll fight you seriously, yet only just for a little bit."

"What!?" Roshi couldn't tell whether or not Tien had been bluffing. "You're telling me that you weren't fighting seriously?"

Tien just chuckled. Putting his hands next to his face, he shouted "Taiyoken!" Before the entire area, a blinding light came over the place, temporarily shouting out everyone's sight. Seeing that Chun was affected by the technique, Tien appeared behind Roshi and kneed the man in the back of the neck. The surprise attack had Roshi fall right over onto his stomach. Looking down on him, Tien believed himself to be triumphant. "Unfortunately, I can't kill the man as I'd just get disqualified. Still, this old geezer probably won't be able to regain consciousness anyway so it's my win."

"Oh my! Contestant Jackie Chun appears to be getting right back up!"

"Eh?"

Slowly getting back up on his two feet, Roshi had been rubbing the back of his neck. Once he was back up, he looked toward Tien, sweating bullets. "That one really got to me. Why don't you be kinder to your elders, boy?"

Tien couldn't believe that someone such as him would even remotely be able to withstand such an attack and began to question even further. "Who the hell are you?"

"With such promise and potential, why do you choose to walk the path of Evil? You've yet to do anything irredeemable, so there's still time. Why don't you choose to be good? Break out from the easy path of shadows! Follow into the sunlight!"

Tien had heard enough of this old man's unwanted wisdom and shot at him yet again. "I'll beat the damn sunlight of you myself!" Chun managed to block Tien's first punch but couldn't evade the upcoming kick to the face that followed.

From that hit, Roshi himself noticed something was off. It felt as if Tien was holding back. "Ohoho...what's the matter, ma boy? Those hits of yours have lost some bite. Are you starting to question things now?"

"Why the hell do you insist on such things!?" Tien growled. "Shut up already."

"It's not like I'm saying anything special," Chun replied. "Simple matter of the fact is that this world is much more fun and enjoyable when you laugh and take everything easy." As some silence came between them, Chun continued. "Or are you just like your master and prefer to live your life being despised by others?"

Just hearing those words, Tsuru had figured out who the old man really was. There was no other person in the world who'd try to inspire a positive change inside a person, especially no other old man beside Muten Roshi himself. Connecting the dots together, Tsuru decided to let it be known to Tien as soon as possible.

'Tien!' Tsuru called onto his student telepathically. 'That buffoon is Kame-Sennin himself! Don't let that disguise fool you!'

Tien grinned and got back into another fighting stance. "I see...so that's it, huh?"

"Looks like the jig is up..." Roshi mumbled to himself. "Just don't tell the others. Truthfully, I don't tell you this because I'm on bad terms with Tsuru, it's because I don't want to see such a potential like yourself go to waste."

"This is getting tedious," Tien said as he put his arms out. "For pay-back, let me show you something interesting." As he cupped his hands together, Tien began to chant. "Kame...Hame..."

"A Kamehameha!"

"HA!" Tien put forth his energy into one wave of blue energy, directed exactly for Roshi himself.

Seeing that the attack was powerful enough to kill some of the people in the audience, he just couldn't move out of the way. Perhaps Tien knew this and took advantage of Roshi's own morals to get him to take the majority of the attack himself. Doing what he could by blocking the attack with his hands, Roshi waited until the wave of ki was re-directed into the sky.

Once it was safely out of the way, the old man wiped a bit of sweat from his brow. "Phew..."

"ASTONISHING!" the announcer yelled. "ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING! Who would have thought that even contestant Tien of the Tsuru-Sen School would be capable of firing a Kamehameha!"

"I can't believe it..." Krillin mumbled.

"As I said...that kid is capable of a lot." It was then that King Chappa was beginning to doubt his own abilities. He knew not even if his eight arm technique would prove to be useful against the likes of such a fighter.

Tien grinned. "With that level of technique, if I see it just once, I can make it my own. Show me even more! I'll become stronger and stronger!"

Roshi was questioning to give up right then and there, but still, if he were to let Krillin or Chappa get in, they'd both get beat up. He had the utmost faith in his pupil Krillin when it came to fighting Chappa but he knew he wouldn't last a chance against the likes of Tien. It was then that Roshi realized he wouldn't be able to win out in the long run but he could still wear Tien down.

"There's still one..." Roshi said in a hushed tone, though loud enough for Tien to hear.

"One what?" Tien began to show a high level of intrigue. By the mere seriousness on Roshi's face, he knew that the old man had something planned.

"One technique that I know not one person to ever master...not Tsuru, me, or our great Master Mutaito." Roshi crouched down and stared at Tien. "I know not yet what to call this but for me, it's a brief moment of clarity when it comes to the art of fighting."

Tien wasn't too sure to what Roshi was referring to now but he was still confident in his own abilities. "Hah! Old man, you've been trying your very hardest this entire bout and I've just gotten warmed up. Anything you can use against me, I doubt it'll be much in your favor."

Roshi made sure to release all tension, not only physical but mentally as well. Roshi hadn't put much practice into it due to such a thing being extremely difficult but it still had a thing or two up his sleeve. He decided it was finally time to reveal this next level of technique.

Roshi had his eyes closed for a moment, making sure to control everything that had to do with his breathing. His mind was blank for a brief moment and he took in the bright sun above them and the slight cool winds touching upon his skin. He took in everything, acknowledged it...and threw it away.

Just as he opened his eyes, Tien came rushing in for Roshi, this time trying. Much to his surprise, Roshi effortlessly dodged out of the way, practically gliding until he reached the near edge of the ring. Tien quickly turned around and dashed at Roshi yet again. A failed attempt at a kick had been ducked under and Roshi simply sidestepped the next very punch that was coming right to him next. Ducking under yet again another attack, Roshi clipped Tien prior to executing a multitude of backflips to get away from the edge of the arena.

Tien, eyes wide, began to fall face first onto the grass, which would indicate a ring out. Getting control of himself, Tien came to an absolute halt, floating just centimeters above the ground.

The announcer came running over to Tien and raised his glasses for a brief moment just to get a good eye on Tien. "H-He's still in! I can't believe it!"

Tien, looking right at the grass, started to growl. Bringing himself back onto the ring, he looked over to Roshi, who simply had his back faced toward him. "You...why you have your back on me!"

In a near fit of anger and frustration, Tien came at Roshi from behind. The elder Martial Artist fell to his chest and got into a push-up position, missing Tien's attack from behind just in time. With his great ability to balance his own body, Roshi lifted himself up into a handstand position prior to rendering Tien a direct kick into the stomach.

The didn't hurt Tien at all-not in the slightest, yet he was still forcefully sent into the sky.

"Amazing! It seems like Muten Roshi has finally decided to let his skills finally be known! Tien isn't even able to touch him!"

"What the hell is the meaning of this!" Tsuru growled. "Tien, eliminate him already!"

Krillin was at a total loss for what he was just seeing. Roshi, or who he knew as Jackie Chun, seemed to be on the ropes earlier yet the tables had surprisingly turned out of nowhere. Tien growled and fired an attack from above.

"Dodon-Pa!"

Roshi shot over to the side and missed the attack, which caused a minor hole into the ring. Tien fired on with more and more, only for them all to be evaded before they could hit its target. Tien started to fume.

"W-What kind of technique is this!" There was no way there could be a technique to simply dodging his opponent's every move. "No...you've just been toying with me the whole time, you bastard!"

Roshi hopped into the sky, meeting at eye level with Tien, who dodged an attack coming from Roshi. Once he tried to counter, it was evaded as well. Next thing everyone watching knew, a flurry of attacks were coming from each side. Tien was having just as much a hard time evading Roshi's seemingly faster attacks as he was solely trying to make contact with the old man himself.

"Both are going at it and they seem to not be able to stop!"

"Wait, Muten Roshi can fly?" Krillin's eyes were fluttering as he watched his master fight.

"My goodness, look at 'em go," Bulma mumbled.

"I can't even see what the hell they're doing so I doubt you can, too," Oolong commented. Just a little death glare from Bulma was needed to finally shut the pig up.

"Whoah..." Chaotzu's eyes were moving back and forth as he secretly did his best to try and decipher every move that both of them made as they fought one another. "I can't...keep up."

Tsuru growled. "No way in hell can Roshi stand up to my best pupil like that!" Looking over at Chaotzu, who was mesmerized as to what he was seeing, Tsuru called onto him. "Chaotzu! I want you to end this right now."

"Huh?" He looked over to his master, confused.

"Use your powers," Tsuru told his pupil. "We've no time to waste. Once Tien gets rid of that old man, he's free to win it all."

"Yes, sir." Doing as he was told, Chaotzu unnoticeably put his hands out, using his telekinetic powers.

As Roshi and Tien continued to go back and forth, suddenly, Tien's opponent came to an absolute stop.

BAM!

Roshi was rendered a near bone-crushing punch to the gut, one so powerful that not only had been knocked out of him as well. Raising his two fists above his head, Tien came down ruthlessly and struck Roshi right in the back of the neck. The defenseless man felt something suddenly come over him and not being able to move his own body. Due to this, Tien's last strike had him crashing onto the ring below, forming a crack in the square thing as well.

"Jackie Chun is down!" the announcer called out.

Tien slowly descended onto the ring and crossed his arms. "After all that, you receive two hits and you can't even get up."

Roshi grinded his teeth together and looked up at Tien, obviously shaking. "I...can't...move."

Looking down on Roshi in the state was in, Tien knew that Roshi would be capable of getting right back up from such attacks. Seeing as to how the man couldn't voluntarily move, he knew a third party had intervened. Tien looked over to Chaotzu and stared intensely at the little guy.

'Stop,' Tien demanded of him telepathically.

'But why, Tien? Master told me to do so and you've already gotten him on the ropes.'

'I want to win this fight fair and square so just do it right now! I won't let my honor fall because I needed outside help.'

'But what ab-'

'Forget it! Do as I say right now.'

Not wanting to upset his best friend, Chaotzu did as told and released the hold that he had on Muten Roshi.

'What the hell do you think you're doing!' Tsuru intervened. 'Finish it while you still have the chance!' Just having enough of this, Tsuru yelled out loud. "Kill him!"

"No," Tien shot back. "I want to win this with my own power. I don't need to kill him when I can just win fair and square without having to be disqualified."

"Y-You dare defy me!?"

Tien looked away from his master and back to Roshi, who was getting back on his feet. "I'd love to keep this going but I still have one more fight to get to."

Roshi smiled. To him, it appeared that Tien was growing into his own despite Tsuru's say so. Taking into account the fact that all it took was some words to get Tien to question things, Roshi figured out that Tien inherently never wanted the lifestyle he had been chasing anyway. If anything, the young man's just finally come to acceptance with it."

"How dare you!" Tsuru grabbed Chaotzu and picked him up by his collar shirt. "Anyone who defies me doesn't deserve to live!"

Seeing his friend in such danger, Tien froze for a split second. Not just because Chaotzu was about to die but because in order to intervene, he'd have to take on his master as well. His mind was clicking all over the place as he needed to make a split second decision.

"I won't let you!" Tien shouted. "Dodon-Pa!"

The wave of ki went right for Tsuru and pierced the man's chest. The surprise attack had him drop Chaotzu before he could do anything. And despite saving his friend's life, it more than likely came at the cost of his own master's. "N-No..."

Nothing but silence had overcome the entire crowd. As Tsuru fell over on his back, blood constantly leaking, he began to choke on his own incoherent words. Tien, in disbelief, ignored the fight and flew over to Chaotzu.

"No, wait!" Roshi yelled.

Tien didn't care about the damn fight anymore. He stepped out of bounds to tend to Chaotzu and his master, who was now lifeless. Looking down at him, Tien's vision began to get blurry. Never was it in his intentions to ever kill his master, but just prevent him from doing the worst thing imaginable.

Roshi hopped off the ring as well to check up on the scenario.

"I can't believe this..." Krillin muttered.

"In all my years of entering fighting tournaments, never has anything like this taken place before," King Chappa commented as well.

"T-Tien...I'm sorry."

Snapping out of his trance, Tien shook his head and just rubbed his friend's head. "No..." Crouching down, Tien picked up his master and began to ascend up into the sky. "It's fine." He looked down at Muten Roshi and stared at him for a few seconds. No words needed to be shared between the two at all. Both had grown with mutual respect for one another and with that, Tien just took off.

The Announcer was left just as stunned as everyone else due to witnessing what had just happened. Clearing his throat, he spoke into the mic. 'W-Well...seeing as to how contestant Tien is no longer with us...Roshi wins the fight. I'm sorry that you all had to witness such a horrible thing but the tournament must go on. We'll give an hour break before heading into the next fight between Krillin and King Chappa."

Roshi walked over to the announcer and put his hand out.

"Erhm, yes?"

"The mic, please," Roshi said.

"Oh, would you like to make an announcement as well?"

"Yes."

"Oh, sure thing." Not questioning the old man at all, the announcer hande over the mic.

Chun tapped into the microphone a bit, testing it out. "Ahem. I'm sorry you all had to just see that. But as the announcer said, this tournament must continue on. I will not be the one to wait for the final fight as I don't wish to compete any longer. So your championship fight will now be young Krillin and the ever so skillful King Chappa." Once he handed the mic back to the announcer, Chun bowed and began to walk his merry way out. "It's been fun, but it's time the old man sat back for a change-the new generation has taken over."

This left everyone shocked, yet again.

And so it would be

Final Battle:

Krillin Vs. King Chappa

If you are wondering why the focus isn't on Son Goku, it is because I will be demonstrating how events on Earth turn out afer Piccolo Daimao's revival, though this time, with the absence of Son Goku. As of now, Son is still out in space. Hope you enjoyed.
