Chapter 10:
Right as Lauren was about to take a seat, she heard a voice come from behind her, "What is she doing here?"
"Your dad was kind to invite me to dinner, Miss." Lauren said already feeling uncomfortable. Lauren did not want this to become even more hostile so she tried to excuse herself. "I'm sorry, Mr. Navarro but if you'll excuse me, I'll be in my room."
"Que te pasa, Parker?" Santiago questioned his daughter.(What's wrong with you, Parker?) He immediately looked at Lauren and apologized. "No, Dr. Lewis. I invited you to eat with us and you will eat with us. I apologize for my daughter's behavior."
Lauren looked at Parker and decided to sit down and eat. She was not the one who was rude and had nothing to hide. If Parker did not eat with then, it was her problem. "Thank you, Mr. Navarro"
"You welcome. Please call me Santiago." Santiago said with a smile. He did not know why his daughter was being rude especially since she gets along with Fae and humans. He looked at Parker who understood to sit down.
Dinner took about ten minutes to arrive since the cooks were doing their final touch. It was custom that the first thing they would eat was soup. As Francisca came to the table with the pot of soup, Santiago was talking to his wife about the dark Fae who killed a light Fae. They did not see when Parker decided to "accidentally" have the maid spill the soup right on Lauren.
Lauren could not help but stand up quickly trying to clean up the soup but was unsuccessful. The mess was all over her pants and Lauren had to excuse herself, while Santiago and Angela looked at their daughter in disbelief.
"Que es lo que te pasa?" Santiago yelled out to his daughter. (What is wrong with you?) He was furious to say the least. "Te comportaste como una criatura! Vas a disculparte con la doctora, entendido?" He said looking at his daughter serious.(You behaved like a child! You are going to apologize to the doctor. Do you understand?)
Parker never saw her dad that angry and it did scare her. However, she was not going to back down. "No me voy a disculpar con ella." (I'm not going to apologize to her.)
Santiago did not know what was going on through his daughter's head but the way she acted was not what he taught her. "Te vas a disculpar con ella, y es mas! Tu vas a ser la que le ensene a hablar el espanol porque lo va a necesitar para cuidar a los enfermos." Santiago said seriously as he got up and left. He did not finish his food and that was not like him. He always ate his food, so Parker knew that he was furious. (You are going to apologize and there's more! You are going to be the person to teach her how to speak Spanish since she needs it to take care of the ill).
Parker could not believe her ears. She has to spend time with the doctor and teach her Spanish. She looked at her mother but all her mother did was shrug and got up. "He's crazy if he thinks I am going to teach that woman to speak Spanish!" Parker was ranting while her two siblings looked at her in disbelief.
"Parker, whats up with you? You've never behaved like this." Juan asked. Out of all of them, Parker was the most friendliest person to humans and Fae.
"Nothing's wrong with me." Parker said as she finally got up. She had to get out of the house. Things were getting out of hand. She had to get married to someone she doesn't love, and the encounter with Dr. Lewis did not go well. What she did not know or explain was why she could not get her out of her mind.

Knock Knock
Lauren just got out of the shower when she heard the knock on the door. This day was okay. The Navarro family treated her well except for Parker. "That woman is a case in itself." Lauren thought to herself. She quickly put on her robe and opened the door. What she saw left her surprised to say the least.
"I wanted to apologize for what happened at dinner" Parker quickly said. She was not good at apologizing so whenever she had to apologize, it came out super fast. It was the only way where she would not take it back or not apologize at all
"Oh really? Well apology not accepted." Lauren said as she was about to close the door on Parker's face but was unsuccessful since Parker was quick enough to open the door.
"I'm being the grown up here and apologized. Don't you think its childish to be closing the door on me?" Parker asked as she came in the room.
"How can you say that I'm the one acting childish, when your the one who dumped the soup on me." Lauren replied back.
"Look, I came here to apologize and instead of acting as an adult and accepting it, you're the one who's acting childish." Parker was getting irritated. She did not know why but it only happened with this human.
"Well, I'll accept it when you actually mean it and not being sent by your father." Lauren said as she sat down looking at Parker who was flabbergasted.
"How did you know my father sent me?" Parker asked stunned.
"Your dad is a very nice man. It doesn't take a genius to know that he would be the one to send you." Lauren spat back.
Parker was now frustrated. For a human, she had a lot of pride. "Look, I also came to tell you that I will be your Spanish tutor."
"You can tell your dad that it won't be necessary. I can find myself another Spanish tutor." Lauren said.
The fae woman was about to lose her nerve. Here she is apologizing to this woman and all she is doing is wanting to irritate her. It was like it was a game to her. If she was hesitant to teach her Spanish before, now she is determined to be her tutor. She knew that Dr. Lewis did not like her presence so now she was going to be stuck with the fae woman. "Its okay. Its my pleasure to teach you especially since you are saving my kind. I'll be here tomorrow at 11 am." Parker said with a smirk. "Two can play at this game" Parker thought to herself as she headed to her room leaving a stunned Lauren behind.
Lauren on the other hand, went to hit the sack, hoping to not dream of the woman that had captured her heart just to destroy it in a blink of an eye.

TWO WEEKS LATER
"Hey Lauren, I wanted to apologize about what happened with Dyson." Bo said to herself as she paced back and forth. She has yet to confront Lauren and she does not know how to do it. Granted, its been two weeks since Lauren caught them together but how does she explain the situation to the doctor.
"Hey Bo." Kenzi said coming up to her best friend. "Are you finally going to see Lauren or you going to be with Dyson."
"Hey Kenz. Yes, I will be paying Lauren a visit today. I just don't know how to apologize for what she saw. I-" Bo was interrupted by her phone. "Hello?"
"Hey babe. I wanted to know if you could come to the Dal. I have a case to solve and I would appreciate your help." Dyson said through the phone. He has been swamped with work after coming back from his two week vacation.
"Of course, I'll meet you there." Bo said hanging up the phone. She knew that she should talk to Lauren but Dyson needed help in a case and she couldn't deny that. Besides, she might still even see Lauren due to the case.
"So, I'm taking that you are not going to see Lauren." Kenzi simply said. She loved her best friend and was loyal to her but Lauren deserved at least an explanation. Nobody should have found out that the person they love chose somebody else the way Lauren did. It was cruel and heartbreaking to say the least.
"I will, Kenz. We will pass by the dal and then go to the Lab. Most likely, we still have to pay Lauren a visit due the the case Dyson is about to give us." Bo replied back trying to justify the fact that she is postponing the inevitable. "Lets go."
The car ride was very quiet to say the least. Bo didn't know why Kenzi was giving her a hard time about Lauren since she was always team Dyson in the first place but since she got back with Dyson, Kenzi has been on her back about Lauren. She knew that she was being a total bitch but she honestly didn't know how to approach Lauren. Before she realized it, she was already at the dal.
As she made her way inside, she noticed that it was packed which just made her even more hungrier than what she already was. As she scanned the bar, she finally saw Dyson who just happened to be talking to Trick.
"Hey babe." Bo replied making her presence known between the shapeshifter and blood king.
"Hey Bo, I'm glad you're here. I need you to go over this case. The victim was shot 4 times and was mutilated afterwards." Dyson said as he handed the case over to Bo.
Bo was reading the case and seeing any clues that might help her but she knew definitely that she had to go see Lauren for the autopsy. "Well, I'll have to go see Lauren for the autopsy, and hopefully she can tell me more about this." Bo said as she looked up just to find that Trick was hiding something. "What's wrong, Trick?" She asked.
"I thought you knew, Bo. Which is why I didn't say anything." Trick said.
"Trick, what happened?" Bo asked. She started to panic and she did not like the feeling at all.
"Lauren's gone." He simply said.
"Oh, and when will she be back?" Bo said feeling relieved. She thought something bad happened.
"Never. The Ash gave Lauren her freedom about two weeks ago, and she's been gone since then." The blood king responded. He knew that Bo cared a lot about Lauren so he didn't know how she would react to the news.
"What?" Bo said trying to wrap her mind around the words. Lauren couldn't really be gone gone, or could she? She felt like someone just stabbed her and left the knife inside.
"Bo?" Kenzi asked as she saw the emotions play out in her friends eyes, but before Kenzi could say something else, Bo ran off leaving Kenzi and Dyson at the dal.
"The Ash gave Lauren her freedom about two weeks ago, and she's been gone since then." Those words were ringing in Bo's mind as she sped to the compound. Bo couldn't accept it for some reason. Not being able to see the blonde would hurt her. Yeah she chose Dyson but she still cared for Lauren. It then dawned on Bo, that Trick said Lauren's been gone about two weeks ago which meant she must have been gone, the same night she caught Dyson and her. Bo could feel the tears coming but she had to stay strong. "Maybe Lauren was just on vacation, and Trick misunderstood." Bo thought to herself. Bo's thoughts were driving her crazy but as she made her way to the compound, she couldn't help but feel a little scared of what she might discover.
As she made her way to the lab, she saw a male doctor. "Have you seen, Dr. Lewis?" She said without introducing herself. She did not have time for any pleasantries.
"Dr. Lewis does not work here anymore. She resigned two weeks ago." He quickly said. He felt very attracted to the woman but didn't know why since he only met the woman two minutes ago.
Bo started to panic as she made her way to Lauren's apartment. This couldn't be true. It was as if she was walking into a nightmare that she could not wake out of. Bo made her way to Lauren's apartment. "Lauren!" Bo yelled out as she stormed her way inside. "Lauren!"
Bo saw the lab was intact which gave her a shed of hope but as she made her way upstairs and to Lauren's room, everything was there but when she opened the closet, the only thing she found was a photo of Lauren on the floor. All of Lauren's clothes were gone and the only thing Bo had from Lauren was a forgotten photo. Bo couldn't help but pick it up. "Lauren's gone." Bo said to herself over and over as she sat on the bed rocking herself back and forth hugging her knees to her chest. She couldn't accept the fact that Lauren was gone and she would never get to see her again.
