"Not on Kentucky. I found something on Agent North though."

"Show me." It was an old memory from her childhood, slightly fuzzy from the age.

Dakota was about 5, living with her grandparents. "Kitiara? Your father's here!" Her grandfather called, climbing up the stairs when he received no answer. "Kitiara?" he asked ,knocking on the door. Kit's grandfather pushed the door open, and found the room cleaner than it had ever been before. Her bed was made with the window open, allowing the breeze to come in. Climbing back down the stairs, her grandfather brought the news to her father. "Im sorry Ke-North; she's not here. I fear she ran away."

The purple Spartan sighed, his shoulder armor sinking a few inches in the act. "Damnit. I'll go find her." With that, North turned, grabbed his helmet, and walked out. He waited till he was several feet away from the house before speaking to Theta, his AI. "Theta, scan for movement. Kit couldn't have gotten far." The AI did as he asked, even though Theta was sure that they were going to get in trouble for this unauthorized mission.

Kitiara didn't move from her spot at the corner of the house, having heard everything. A little hologram appeared above the Spartans shoulder. "There's no movement other than the child's grandparents. Switching to thermals now." When the thermals finally did click on, Kit was long gone.

There was a bonus of being a fast runner. Kits grandparents owned roughly 10 acers, and she was nearly at the woods. She was faced with a decision- go into the woods until it got dark, or climb a tree and wait until that man left. Kit refused to think of him as her father- he was never around. Deciding against the tree, Kit headed deep into the woods. When she found a game trail, she followed it until she got tired. The sun had set long ago-it was now dark out- once she found a suitable place to sleep, she laid down and fell asleep as the forest also settled down for the night. Although Kitiara was sure to cover her trail from the house to the woods, she couldn't do anything about her heat signature.

Unknown to her, North had followed her heat trail easily. He stopped about 10 feet away, watching over her. Kit woke up once, but she wasn't fully awake, otherwise she would have noticed the purple Spartan standing nearby. As the night grew colder, North had to make a decision. Needless to say, he ended up carrying her back to her room.

When Kit woke up the next morning, she was back in her bed, but she remembered falling asleep in the woods. Looking around, she noticed the blonde man who was asleep with his head on her bed. Feeling slightly creeped out, Kit moved away from him, not knowing who he was. As soon as she move, the blonde lifted his head and gave her a small smile. The movement revealed a scar running across his bicep, but he didn't seem to even notice. "Hello Kitiara."

"um… Hi?" Hi wasn't the only thing Kit wanted to say, but she wasn't sure why he was here. Regaining her courage, Kit asked: "Who are you?"

The man was silent for a moment, then spoke. "Kitiara, my name is North. I'm your- I'm a friend of your father. Don't believe me if you want, but I need you to listen carefully. Something is going to happen that's going to change your life, forever, and its coming fast. You will be called upon to to serve under the UNSC. You probably will never see me again, so this is goodbye." Without another word, North rose and walked out of her room. He didn't hesitate or look back at her, instead opting to whisper to low for her to hear: "Goodbye my daughter."

Waiting a few minutes, Kit looked out the window, halfway wanting to see the man called North. What she saw was not what she was expecting. the man called North. What she saw was not what she was expecting. Instead of the blonde man, she watched someone dressed in a purple and green suit leave her house.

She continued to watch as he walked away, paused, turned back and looked directly at her. When he raised his hand, Kit thought he was going to wave, but instead he gave her a 2 fingered type of smile, then turned away and climbed into his monstrous military truck and drove away. Kit stayed at the window until the truck disappeared down the road.

"The Agent North in your memory is the same North that saved you today on the field. A little older maybe, but still the same person. I bet he knows something about your father. He is a friend of your father."

"Oh shut up Ion. Just because they look alike doesn't mean that they are the same person."

"Shut can't go up Dakota. You don't know that is not him." Dakota's AI sighed and resumed monitoring the covenant. Below, North and Kenny were having a similar argument.

"Now you've seen her, Heard her, and seen her fight. I'm not stupid North, you guys have the same talent with a sniper rifle. Just go talk to her."

"Just because someone can shoot like me doesn't mean that they are related to me. You don't know Wyoming, but he was a crack shot with a sniper rifle, and he was British!" North shot back at Kenny.

Kenny sighed, "You're going to fight me over her aren't you? You two are so alike that you don't see it! I swear North, you just don't want to take the chance that she might be your daughter and that she might hate you because you were never there!" From the lack of an answer, Kenny knew he was right. Bidding the older Freelancer goodnight, Kenny headed to the roof to get some fresh air.

He had expected the roof to be clear of people, but it wasn't. sitting of the roof with her legs off the roof, was the purple and blue Spartan. His IFF scanner identified her as North Dakota, with the symbols of Invisibility, stealth, and sniper next to her name. Kenny was smart enough not to just approach, as he had watched her the kick the asses of the three Freelancers who had dared to challenge her to Last Man Standing, Agents Alabama, Georgia, and Nevada. "Hello Dakota."

"Hey Kenny," Dakota replied as she got up and picked up her trademark Sniper. The two of them had become close friends over the years, even though they barely got to talk between missions and training.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as she walked over.

"I'm alright, the hammer didn't do half as much damage as Ion thought it did. Although, I'm glad that he did what he did." Dakota stopped near Kenny, ignoring how her heart was reacting.

"Don't you know that Gravity Hammers are bad for your health? I'm sure we had a class on it," Kenny joked, reaching out to punch her shoulder lightly. Almost faster than he could follow, Dakota grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm behind his back.

"Don't touch me." Dakota's voice sounded serious, but she was messing with the taller Spartan. Kenny stayed how he was for a second before twisting out of her hold and pinning Dakota's arms to her sides.

"Give it up 'Koda, you know you cant beat me."
