Hiccup is stressed; having so many responsibilities has worn the viking thin, leaving him exhausted, worn out and in desperate need for a change. The only thing Hiccup could do to lighten the load of his work is to end his already rocky relationship with Astrid. Toothless has noticed his rider's distracted and plans to help him out whether he wants it or not. *IMAGE NOT MINE*

10. Run away

Hiccup eyes fluttered open, quickly closing shut as beams of sun light shone onto his face, blinding him before he turned his head and pressed his face against warm scales; Hiccup shivered from the morning breeze that rolled into the cave before he shifted his body, turning onto his side leaning closer to the warmth of the body next to him and yawned, preparing to go back to sleep as he pressed his bent his bare legs closer to his body. A small frown grew on his face, at the realization that he was no longer wearing his legging as he slowly opened his eyes again, fluttering open to meet smooth black scales inches away from his face.

Confusion was the first thing Hiccup felt but was easily replaced with shock and horror as the memories of last night flooded his head in a blur, his eyes widening to the size of plates as his entire face became red with embarrassment when he released one of Toothless' strong arms draped over his side, gently pressing the boy closer in his slumber.

It took everything in Hiccup's willpower not to jump up, to run, to bury his face into his hands and pretend it never happened like a child would; it took a while to calm himself down, his heart still pounding as he stared up at his sleeping dragon before slowly slipping out of the dragon's loose grip. Hiccup scrambled silently and quickly as the one legged teen could to his discarded prosthetic and legging, fastening the ropes of his metal and wooden leg to his stump before tugged on his legs, eyes darting to Toothless every so often. Completely ignoring his bare foot, Hiccup crept out of the cave, wincing with every tap of his prosthetic.

Toothless did nothing more then stir, much to Hiccup's relief as he left the cave before finding himself standing outside, his mind a blank before he hear a grunt from inside the cave, most likely Toothless dreaming or shifting in his sleep, but manage to make Hiccup jump before dashing into the forest, heart pounding and face red; he needed to get away, he needed to have some space, he needed to think.

(BREAKLINE)

Toothless' attempts of bringing Hiccup closer were pointless, his arms only moving through empty air before he opened his eyes slowly, his mouth opening wide in a powerful yawn before smacking his lips together sleepily and turned his head to smile at Hiccup, expecting to see Hiccup asleep by his side only to see his rider nowhere in sight. The dragon grumbled, looking around the cave as he called for his human before noticing the empty stop where Hiccup's leggings and prosthetic were, only his boot stood there by itself.

Toothless sniffed the air and stood up, frowning to himself as he stared around the empty cave; Toothless swallowed thickly, Hiccup is probably just getting some water, maybe so food, or to bathe himself, the dragon reassured himself before he waddled out of the cave, blinking rapidly when the early morning sun hit his face before he eyed the area. He wasn't there, just like the cave, maybe he had gone for a walk? Toothless tried to think positive but couldn't help the dread from building in his stomach. Giving a low cry, Toothless listened as it echoed across the small island¸ stranding his ears to pick up any sound but could only hear the breeze blow at the branches and the wave hitting the beach in the distance.

He's probably out for a walk, a stroll, everything's okay Toothless sat down, looking around the deserted clearing before dropping his head everything's okay.

Sooo yeah, short but y'all needed something, it took me too long to update but that's only because I've had so many tests and essays and tons of homework and I'm so stressed out (plus I'm stuck babysitting) but on the plus side it rained today which meant all the schools/roads were flooded so school was only 2 hours long and I have a very clear Idea of what to write next, so I'll update this soon! ^^

On other new: I SAW CATCHING FIRE AND OH MY GOSH GUYS I CRIED LIKE 10 TIMES IN THE FIRST 30 MINUTES

*Clears throat* and in other news, I'll be slow with updates and stuff since GCSEs and kicking my ass but I'll try hard to stay active
