A/N: Yay Chapter 10! Haha, I wonder how many people even read author notes?:p Lol, I wish I had more chapters than this, but I can't complain at least, I'm starting to get more time to write and post! Enjoy!
Kate's POV
White.
Everything was bright white, it's like flat-lining on a operating table and staring into the bright lights.
Blinding.
Every thing else around you becomes blurry, but slowly it comes back to you.
Slowly.
Is the key word, as things start to take shape and not become so blurred. Blue blur becomes the sky, and green becomes the ground. Those are the first to take form followed by the trees.
Nothing Else.
But an open field and wood line of a blob of trees surrounding it.
Panic.
Starts to set in and consume. You do not realize the settings, turning around hoping to figure out something you recognize behind you.
Nothing.
Until to feel something rest upon your shoulder, a light pressure, I turn to see what it is.
A Hand.
That gave me a slight squeeze, looking to match the face with that hand.
Mom.
Murdered right before the day of my 21st birthday.
Evil.
Was the man that shot her in cold blood. She did not deserve to die, nobody does.
Nightmares.
Still consume and haunt me, slowly eating me alive.
"Go Back Sweetheart, you have a wonderful life of ahead of you, I see it."
She says giving me a warm smile feeling her arms wrap around me.
Eyes Closed.
I embrace the warmth I feel, that hasn't been felt in a long time. It's a feeling that has been long to be felt since her departure from earth.
Fading.
Is the warmth as I open my eyes, her arms are gone around from me.
Darkness.
Takes over the sky, creating so many shadows, everything starts to become a illusion.
Kate.
A voice calls my name, it's distant but it stills echoes and whisperers.
Kate.
The cry sounds more frantic and closer, as I feel a grip on my shoulders.
Just Like That.
One minute I'm in my mother's arms in a warm summer field, feeling the embrace, and the next.
Gasping.
I'm searching for a breath to grasp, instead of water.
Lungs Burning.
As all the water spills out, heaving my guts out, laying back down I notice a blurry face.
Vision Adjusted.
His face screams "scared to hell and back", also noticing his face is pale white.
Soaking Wet.
He pulls me into his arms, as I started to ball my eyes out, but under the heaves of my shakes and cries, I can slightly feel him tremble.
Tony's POV
It feels like an eternity since she has fallen asleep, when it has only been a few hours. She lays curled up in a tight ball at one end of the couch cocooned in a blanket, with another one draped over top of her.
Focusing my gaze strictly on her, I can not get the image of her under the water out of my head. Her eyes closed, and her hair splayed out around her. Not moving, almost like motionless in white. I never noticed the half bottle full of Bourbon that was spilt at the time on the bathroom floor.
I noticed her shift on the couch with a sense of unease. Noticing the wave of discomfort on her face. I moved fore ward to sit on the edge of the chair waiting for her to jolt awake from the never ending nightmares.
Kate's Nightmare/POV
Everything was dark, cold, alone. Alone? Imagine that, since when are you in nightmares surrounded by loved ones? It's more like starring you and only you, except with the form of monster that haunts your sleep till the day you die, maybe even in the afterlife they'll still chase you. You think you are finally free until soon enough that monster taps you on the shoulder, and all you can do is turn around and face them as they growl in your ear.
"Who said you'll ever sleep?"
Kate slightly jumped as she awoke, raising her head off the armrest, she looked at Tony sitting there with his gaze fixated on the floor deep in thought.
"Tony?"
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked trying to look her in the eyes. Kate couldn't meet his gaze. Not now, not ever. How could she? How was she supposed to explain to him, try to lie and say "that it's not what it looks like."
"It's not what it looked like."
"Oh really!?"
"Tony I-" he cut her off before she could continue.
"Then what was it supposed to look like? I'll have a date with the bottle of bourbon until he makes me fall into enough of a deep sleep so I slowly slip under the water for a dance with death." Tony said his voice slightly raising as he paced the room.
"Are you serious right now?! You really think I was trying to commit suicide? Kate was enraged and moved from her position on the couch to stand in front on Tony. "You're unbelievable, is that what you really think of me?! That I'm some suicidal bitch?" She growled through her teeth in a somewhat harsh whisperer.
"Kate, what am I supposed to think?! You have me on the edge of seat all the time worrying if your going to break and shatter."
With that Kate walked over to the door slipping into coat and shoes, and reaching for the doorknob she turned back to him.
"I already have."
