~Tiana
The young woman was quite tired after such a long day of waitressing. She loved her job, but sometimes people could just be so demanding! But she wouldn't let it get to her. Tiana would just go home and go straight to bed, that's what she'd do! Mm-hmm!
Just as she reached her door, she stopped, cocking her head toward the strange sound she'd heard. Raising an eyebrow, Tiana turned fully when it only grew louder.
"Who's there?" she demanded, planting her hands on her hips in a no-nonsense demeanor. If it was a group of kids, she'd give them an earful and send them right home! It was getting late, after all.
But to her surprise, it was nothing that she'd ever dreamed of!
A blue box was shimmering as though it were a mirage, right in the middle of the street. The light atop it twinkled like starlight, and with each thrum the box became more solid.
Tiana, after gaping a moment, brought her fists to her eyes and rubbed hard. She must be more tired than she thought! But when she blinked away the dark spots, the box was still there. This time the door was standing open.
Scowling curiously, Tiana tiptoed toward it, peering into the box. The desire to know what on earth she was seeing overrode any sense of caution or danger, and she stepped inside.
The door closed behind her.
