AN: Guuuys, I am really sorry! I was going to post it last night but then I wasn't happy with a part of this chapter and decided to change it D: But here it is!
Thank you so much for your reviews, follows and favorites, you rock!
Oh, just fyi, I decided the name of the town a long time ago, while I was staring intently at my flash drive. I googled it yesterday and discovered that there is a real city with this name in the state of Washington D: So, although the name happened to be the same, this is a fanfic and I am sorry for any mistakes :/
Chapter Nine
Luke was in panic. The first time he'd called her, she clearly disconnected; but now her cellphone was off. He quickly gathered his things and picked up the file. He thought for a moment and decided to print the FBI warning and take it with him. Then, he quickly got out of his house, entered in his car and drove off to her house.
The pain in her head was unbearable. She looked around and saw Madalin coming down the stairs. She had to do something.
She tried to get up, but her left side – which was already damaged from the accident – just wouldn't move. Then, she heard Madalin's voice getting closer.
"You know? It's my fault that this is happening. I let it get too far. You, Luke, all your… shit together. I shouldn't have let you hang around. But, see, I am a loving girlfriend, and I will be a loving wife."
Then, Madalin knelt down beside her and stroke her hair.
"And since I love you so much and we will be together, we are going to start over. I will forgive you for your behavior and I will take you home. With me." She smiled, and then got up. "I just need to get something first…"
Kate saw Madalin go to the kitchen table and grab her purse. Then, she saw what Madie was searching for: a syringe. Kate felt her heart rate increase and she tried to find something to defend herself. Just when her hand had found something, she felt a weight being pressed onto her hips. Madalin had crossed her legs on top of Kate's hips in order to prevent her from fighting. Then, she grabbed the left arm of her girlfriend – the weak one - to inject the fluid that was inside the syringe.
Kate started to panic as she had to fight Madalin with just one arm. Then, she remembered what she had felt and stretched her arm behind her head again.
"Shhh… easy Kate. It's going to be okay, honey, just stay still…"
When Madalin inserted the needle on her vein, Kate found what she was looking for: her crutch. She grabbed it and with all the strength she had, she hit Madalin in the head.
Madie fell out of her and dropped the syringe to the floor. Kate, then, grabbed it and, seeing that it was gonna be hard to inject it in Madie since she had only one good hand, she emptied its content on the floor.
When she tried to get up, though, everything around her started to spin. She put her hand on her head, only to see that it was soaking with blood. Leaning on the table, she managed to stand still; but, whilst trying to get up, she momentarily forgot to watch for Madie and that was a big mistake.
Madie had just gotten up and then grabbed the crutch that lie on the floor and hit Kate on her back, making her fall to the ground and break some glasses in the process. Madie then kicked Kate on the face and went to grab some silver tape. She returned a few moments later, put Kate in a sitting position and tied her hands together behind her back.
"You know, I forgive you, Kate. This is not your fault. There are people here in this town trying to put you against me, but we're better than that, babe. We will get through this, never forget that I love you" and with that she kissed Kate in the lips and forced her tongue into her mouth.
Kate used this distraction to search for something that could help her get free from the tape. Behind her back, she felt a shard of glass and hid it in her hand. That should be enough.
Madalin pulled her on her feet and dragged her towards the car.
"Let's go, love. We're gonna be far away from this shitty little town by the morning"
Luke arrived at Kate's place and looked around. The car wasn't there, but the lights were on. Maybe Madalin is not here yet; that would be good.
He went towards the door and called.
"Kate! It's me, Luke. Are you there?"
He went to knock on the door, but then realized the door was open. That's weird.
He slowly opened the door and then froze at the sight before him. There were broken glasses scattered all around the floor, the kitchen table was lying aside and Kate's crutches were on the ground. But what scared him most was the blood on the floor. It wasn't a big amount, but it meant someone was hurt. He then picked up his cellphone and dialed 911.
Madalin was driving fast and her mind was spinning with the turn of events. Although she wanted to get out of this town, she couldn't do that with Kate tied up and bleeding, it would be too risky. She would have to go to where she worked to grab more tranquilizers.
She pulled over outside the building, looked around and saw that there was a small restaurant on the corner. She sighed, grabbed the silver tape again and started to work on Kate.
"I'm gonna have to tie your legs too, honey. But don't worry, I'll be back soon."
Then, she got out of the car and went into the building.
When Luke told what he had seen inside the house, the police officers called the CSI's to process the evidences. While they were doing their work taking pictures, collecting samples of blood and looking for fingerprints, Luke was telling the whole story to two officers.
"Sir, with all due respect, I think you should call in the FBI"
One of the officers - the older one, Officer Perry - looked at him with a confused face.
"And why do you think that, kid?"
"Because, when you run the DNA and fingerprints on your databases, that's the match you're gonna find" he said, handing the warning that he had printed from the FBI website.
The officers looked at each other, both thinking the same. If that's the case, our jobs just got a little harder.
Officer Perry looked at his watch. 11:30 pm.
"I trust you, kid, because I know who you are and I know your mother. You wouldn't lie about something like this, right?"
Luke looked relieved.
"Of course not, sir"
Perry nodded.
"Okay, I'll make sure this is processed immediately. It's going to be a long night"
He sighed and then went to talk to the CSI's.
As soon as Madalin got into the building, Kate started to work faster on her bindings. During the way to the city, she had slowly tried to cut the silver tape and had partially succeeded. She was able to cut the tape a little, cutting her hands in the process, but she still had to cut more.
When Madalin entered the building, she went straight to where she and her partner kept the medication. She grabbed three syringes with tranquilizer and walked back to the door. But, remembering that Kate was hurt, she went back to grab something to clean the cut, gauze and some patches. Even the animals needed that sometimes.
Then, she went to the sink and filled a bottle with water. After that she went to the part of the establishment where they kept items to sell and grabbed some dog blankets and went to the door.
After what felt like an eternity, Kate felt the tape loosen up and with a few tugs she freed her hands. But, when she was going to untie her legs, she looked at the store and saw Madalin heading towards the door. She panicked and felt tears running down through her cheeks. She wasn't going to make it.
When Madalin was almost out, she realized that she'd forgotten her purse. She went back to grab it and then got out.
When she arrived at the car, she froze. Then, she looked around frenetically, until she stopped and punched her car. Kate was nowhere to be seen.
When Kate had almost given up, Madalin turned and went back inside. She quickly untied her legs and looked around. Seeing that Madie was still inside, she quietly opened the door and got out of the car. She couldn't go to this restaurant; it was too visible. Madie could see that place from the building. Then, she decided to go to the opposite direction and turn around the other corner so she could hide.
Limping without her crutches, she ran as fast as she could towards the intended direction. When she was just a block away, a car stopped beside her and she panicked. But an unknown male voice called her and she stopped.
"Hey, lady, are you okay?"
She looked inside the car and saw a couple looking worried at her and a kid in the back of the car.
"Do you need help?" it was the woman this time.
Kate gulped and answered.
"Yes, please"
The woman got out of the car and reached out for her.
"Come here, let us help. You're bleeding."
Deciding that this would be the fastest way to get out of there, she accepted the help and got into the car.
"Was it you boyfriend that did this to you, honey?"
Kate looked at the gentle woman.
"Yes"
The man sighed.
"Those jerks! Can't keep their hands off of a woman…"
The woman looked at her with sympathy.
"We're going to take you to the hospital, okay?"
Kate then panicked.
"No, please, not here! She… he… knows people. I just want to get away from him…"
The woman looked at her husband with worry.
"The man must have connections. And I don't think she knows anyone here, I have never seen her before…"
The man looked through the rearview and saw that his son was sleeping.
"Lady, we're going to take you to the hospital in the next town, is that okay with you?"
Kate sighed in relieve.
"Yes, thank you very much!"
They nodded at her in understanding. Then, Kate remembered something.
"Can I please use your cellphone? I need to text someone…"
The woman readily gave her cellphone.
"Of course, do what you have to do"
"Thanks"
Kate grabbed the cellphone and started typing, happy that she had memorized his number.
Officer Perry was at the police station, waiting for the results to come back. The thing that Luke told him was worrying him. If that missing FBI agent was really here, in his town, and we hadn't noticed… he could fell a migraine starting to made its way through his head.
Another Officer called him.
"Hey, Perry, I got the results of the fingerprints they found in the house."
He grabbed the envelope and opened it. The CSI's had found two sets of fingerprints at the scene of the fight. He pulled the files out of the envelope. One was of a Madalin Davis. And the other was Jennifer Jareau, supervisory special agent at the BAU and missing for almost ten months.
"Fuck!"
The younger Officer looked as confused as him.
"What do we do now, sir?"
Officer Perry ran his hand through his beard and sighed. He looked at the clock and it said 1:45 am. It was going to be a long week.
"We call in the feds"
Since JJ was abducted, Garcia had been monitoring and filtering everything that was reported that could be related to her dearest friend. 911 calls, police reports, everything. But so far, it has been useless. She couldn't bear this anymore; it was like something has been switched off inside everyone at the BAU. They were mere shadows of what they used to be. Empty, hollow.
But she could never give up on her gumdrop; she would never give up on her! So, every day, she would sleep beside her computers, in order to hear if some alert came.
She woke in the middle of the night and looked at the clock. It was 4:30 am. She got up and went to the bathroom, washed her face and then went to the kitchen to have some water. When she got back to her room, there was something flashing on the screen. She put her glasses on and got closer. Then, she gasped and put her hand on her mouth.
"Oh my God, JJ!"
Then, she quickly grabbed her cellphone and dialed Hotch. He answered on the first ring. She didn't even bothered to greet him.
"Hotch, it's JJ!"
She heard his answered and realized he sounded very awake.
"I know. I just got a call from Kingston PD. Call everyone, we're flying there ASAP"
I'm excited that this is the longest chapter so far! Yey!
