Chapter 8
Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon but Stacey/Selene and Lilly/Lissette are mine.
Darien was surrounded in mist. He was dressed in silver and black armor and stood below the balcony of a huge silver palace. On the balcony stood a girl, well a young woman, though he could not see her face since she was surrounded in mist. All he could see was a faint silhouette, this was a princess. He had, had dreams of this princess since he was a little boy, and even more recently of the princess he had seen in the park a few weekds back. With the first princess he always stood below a silver balcony in front of a huge palace. With the more recent princess he always stood next to a golden fountain still surrounded in mist with the silhouette of a princess coming towards him but never really saying anything.
There was one thing he always noticed when he had both these dreams; and it was that he felt different types of affections for each princess. For the princess of the silver balcony he felt the undying love a man feels for the woman of his dreams; the love of his life. For the princess of the golden fountain he felt the burning desire to protect and care for; sort of the affection a bother would feel for his little sister. These types of feelings in both ways was strange for him because for one he didn't date, not like he didn't have willing candidates ready to be his date because he was good looking with his silky black hair, mesmerizing midnight blue eyes and 6'2 height; the thing was that he never felt comfortable enough with any girl to date them. Secondly he didn't have a sister, he was an only child and his parents died when he was six. At least that was what he was told; since he had amnesia since the accident that killed his parents.
Now he was standing in front of the silver balcony when the princess came out and peade to him.
"Endymion, my husband, please set me free again." That another thing that puzzled him. The two princesses in his dreams never called him Darien, they always called him Endymion. He always let it slide because the name sounded familiar but had always wondered why they called him that.
"How can I set you free?" He asked the princess. "Find the Silver Moon Crystal and bring it to me, Endymion that will set me free again." The dream faded away. Darien woke up in a bead of sweat. He woke up and walked over to the balcony of his apartment. "That dream again, what could it mean? Am I Endymion? That would sure explain a lot of things."
The next day as Serena got home, she found her father dressed in a fancy black tuxedo. "Wow dad looking good, where are you going?"
"Princess Diamond's in town, I got an invite to her gala at work." "Really oh please dad can I go I really want to go."
She knew if she went she could scope out the princess though she knew she didn't have the crystal. The crystal had been separated into the seven rainbow crystals and hidden inside a person, the negaverse took the first one and now they needed to find the rest, though only she and Kasei knew that little detail since only they had their memories of the Silver Millennium.
They still went along with the pretense however to scope out the princess to not inform Zack, Justin, or even Luna of that little detail. Luna's memories of the past were very vague and scarce and though she knew Serena was the princess she didn't remember the Silver Millennium in its entirety. She kept the pretense for Zack and Justin because if she told them what she knew, they would begin asking questions about their past and she really didn't want to risk their memories returning; at least not until she's released all the Senshi from Beryl's spell.
She then heard her father's voice. "Sorry honey no can do, but I'll tell you all about it tomorrow." He said and left. Serena shrugged and went off to find Luna to see if she had any idea of how she could get into the ball.
In the Dark Kingdom in Queen Beryl's castle, a discussion was going on in the throne room. Beryl was looking at Princess Diamond through her crystal ball.
"Hmm this princess is known to have an important crystal. One of you should go check out this treasure of hers, it could be the Silver Moon Crystal we are looking for."
"I would gladly go check on this princess, my queen." Jupiter bowed.
"No it should be me!" Mercury exclaimed. "I'm in charge of finding the Silver Crystal, so stay out of my business Jupiter!"
"Earth is my domain Mercury, so I'll handle this, I already have a plan in motion." Beryl nodded. "Very well Jupiter, you may go ahead with your plan, and if this princess has it, bring back the Silver Crystal to me."
"Thank you my queen, as you command." Jupiter said, bowed and disappeared.
"So Luna, how will I get into the ball?" Serena said while standing a block from the embassy where Princess Diamond was holding her party. 'I can't really say 'Hi I'm Silver Princess Serenity of the Moon and I demand entrance into the ball.' They'll think I'm nuts and lock me in the loony bin and then we would all be done for because there would no one to stop Beryl."
Luna sighed and did a back flip in the air and a pink pen appeared in Serena's hand. "Remember this?" Luna asked. Serena gasped. The Luna pen of course, you're a genius Luna."
Serena held up the pen and called out "Disguise Power turn me into a beautiful princess!" She was surrounded by lights and at the end of her transformation, Serena stood in a beautiful pale pink flowering gown. She had pink hair clips in her golden meatball hair style and a matching feathery pale pink mask on her face. Her treasured golden heart locket hung beautifully on her neck.
She walked to the entrance where a reception man asked for her name. "Good evening your highness may I take your name?"
With all the elegance and grace that she could remember from her past life, she answered "Princess Serenity of Triforia."
She entered the ballroom and a feeling of nostalgia entered her. It was just like the balls on the moon. People were happily dancing with their partners. In this ball, she saw Justin and Zack there; Justin dancing with Kasei and Zack dancing with Lilly. Having met the day she went to the temple with her and Stacey, he and Justin got along with both of them very well probably their subconscious remembering their former friendship. Stacey was there too dancing with a handsome unknown gentlemen.
She could picture the balls on the moon so clearly, she would be dancing with Endymion while her senshi would be dancing with the generals, and her sister Selene would be around the ballroom dancing with one the many suitors that came to ask for her hand. She also could picture her mother looking at all them from her throne with a smile on her face. Oh how she missed her old life.
As she reached the staircase she was struck with a sudden pain in her chest and said in a soft voice "Oh Endy if only you could be here with me. I miss you so much."
She sighed as she walked down the steps and into the ballroom, feeling an intense nostalgia as she did. She hoped that she wouldn't trip and fall on the hem of her dress, but it seemed that her feet had a mind of their own because she made it down the steps elegantly. At the bottom of the staircase, she felt a warm gloved hand touch hers.
Justin and Kasei were on the dancefloor dancing to the music along with the other couples. At first glance it seemed odd that a grown woman was dancing with a teenage boy but the complete love and devotion in her eyes as they danced left no room for inappropriate second thoughts. Kasei felt on top of the world at the moment dancing with Justin. At first it was a little awkward considering Justin had never been to a ball and had never danced before the way it is done at balls, but as they got further into the music, it seemed like his subconscious was taking over and he was dancing perfectly doing the same mannerisms Jadeite did when they danced together during the Silver Millennium; like holding her waist in a very tender loving manner, letting her lead for a short bit or grasping her hand in a way that made it seem that fire went through her body the more he held it. These mannerisms almost made her think that nothing had happened between them and that the ball they were at now wasn't to scope out a princess for her crystal, but the ball to celebrate their recent marriage.
It was not so though because the look of wariness in Justin's eyes kept her grounded and reminded at what time and place they were in, but still she enjoyed the fact the fact that she was dancing with her one and only true love.
As Justin was dancing with Kasei random images were coming into his head. They were images of him and Kasei at a balls and parties dancing just the way they were now except that when he saw himself in those images he saw an immense love in his eyes when he looked at Kasei and he suddenly felt engulfed by that emotion, so much that he walked away from the ballroom and into a balcony, Kasei following after him, lifting the hem of her off the shoulder red gown as she walked. As she reached the balcony she found him leaning over the balcony railing threading his fingers in his hair with a lock a pure shock on his face.
"What's wrong Justin?" she asked as she reached him. Justin looked up at Kasei and suddenly smiled and came closer to her and laid his gloved hand on her cheek in tender gesture. "I remember who you are now, you are not just my fiancé, but you are also my soulmate and the woman I love more than anything else in the world, and even though I don't remember much about our life together in the past, I can now honestly say; I love you my beautiful salvia, I love you with my entire heart and soul and I will always love you."
Kasei could help the tears that came to her eyes and let them loose but she couldn't believe what Justin was saying. "Do you really mean that?" she found herself saying even though she didn't have a reason to not believe him. Jadeite came closer and sealed his lips with Kasei's in a tender kiss, and at that moment Kasei couldn't have been happier.
She looked at the person who held her hand in theirs, and she saw just the person she wanted to see; her prince, her one and only dream, Endymion. She smiled and remembered the last time she had bumped into him at a ball.
FLASHBACK: ONE THOUSAND YEARS INTO THE PAST.
"Oh, excuse me," Serenity said looking up at who she bumped into.
Before her stood five men; five handsome men at that. Serenity recognized the first one as being the Golden Prince, the one she had been desperately wanting to meet.
"Oh no, excuse me my lady, I wasn't watching where I was going. Please forgive me," the dark-haired man said.
"All is forgiven," Serenity shyly replied.
"It is a pleasure to meet you. May I escort you, Lady Serena?" Endymion said, holding out his arm to the golden-haired goddess that stood before him.
Serenity gave him a small smile and took his arm before saying, "Yes, you may." And off they went.
END FLASHBACK: PRESENT DAY
A smile came to her face as she remembered that night. Who knew that a ball could bring together two soul mates? Even though their relationship had a not so honest start because she had faked her identity to not cause an all-out war between the two kingdoms, she knew that the best thing she had ever done in her past life. Now that she was looking at her prince at a ball she was thrown back in time, and she felt a sudden elation; an explosive happiness in her chest and felt like she was Serenity again back in the Moon Palace at a ball. As so she fell back into the role and accepted his hand.
Darien noticed the beautiful princess in front of him. She reminded him of the princess form the silver balcony in his dreams. He decided to ask her to dance.
"May I have this dance?" he asked and closed his hand around hers.
"Yes you may." He led her on the dance floor, he bowed and she curtsied and they started to dance.
Her prince looked very handsome in his black tuxedo almost identical to the ones he always wore to balls on the moon. Her prince was truly there with her and she couldn't be happier.
Darien was baffled with the resemblance this girl had to the princess from his dreams. He felt strong feelings for her and dancing with felt so familiar that he felt very comfortable dancing with this young woman.
Serena was on cloud nine, she felt so happy dancing with her prince that she wished time would stop, but she was broken out of her fantasy when she saw Luna in the doorway.
"Excuse me." She said to her prince and left to where Luna was.
"What is it Luna." Serena said annoyed. "Sorry to break the dance with your husband Serenity, but Princess Diamond has been surged with dark energy."
She went out into an open balcony and saw Princess Diamond on the courtyard stealing people's energy and went off into the embassy. She then saw Jupiter appear before her.
"Mokusei." She gasped.
"Poor little princess, you shouldn't be sticking your nose where it doesn't belong because now you have to die." She said and blasted a powerful dose of negaenergy at Serena.
Before she could reach her broach to transform she was surrounded in golden light and a barrier was placed in front of her. She looked behind her and saw Lissette there; her hands golden as she produced the barrier.
"That is enough. You will not harm a single person this planet while I'm around Jupiter, I assure you."
"And who are you?" Jupiter asked menacingly.
Even though on the inside Lissette felt profound sympathy for the Sailor Senshi above her because she had become good friends with her sister-in-law's guardians, she looked at Jupiter with hardened eyes showing no mercy.
"That is none of your concern, just know that you will not take this planet." Lissette said and fired a golden blast of energy at Jupiter.
"Ah I see you're a member of the lost royal family of Earth, The Golden Princess to be exact, younger sister of Golden Prince Endymion heir to the throne of Earth. You must know where the Moon Princess is considering she's your sister-in-law, now where is she."
Lissette looked at Jupiter, her midnight blue eyes hard as stone and said.
"I don't know where she is, her location has been hidden away to keep people like you from finding her and taking the silver crystal, but even if I did know where she was you would be the last person I would tell, so don't waste your time on me because you won't obtain anything from me.
"Well…let's see if after this I can't convince you to give that valuable information." She said and fired more of her dark lightening at the Golden Princess.
Serena long since moved out of the line of fire to the railway of the balcony to see if she could find a way around Lissette and Mokusei and find a place to transform. Before she could even move though, she felt a hand on her shoulder and came face to face with the dark Princess Diamond who harshly turned her around and caught her by the neck and threw Serena off the balcony. She grabbed on the edge and held on with all her might but she was slipping fast; she finally felt her glove slip off and she began to fall, she only fell a few inches when she felt a hand grab hers. She looked up at her savior and saw Endymion there as Tuxedo Mask on the balcony railing holding on tightly.
"Thank you." She found herself saying.
He smiled. "No problem, just don't look down." He then attempted to pull her back up in the mist of the explosions that Jupiter and the Golden Princess were making with their constant attacks at each other.
Princess Diamond then awoke from where Tuxedo Mask had shoved her and tried pushing him off the edge too. She finally succeeded and the two began to fall from the third floor of the embassy. When they were about halfway down though they were caught in bright silver energy and gently floated down to the ground.
Serena looked up to the balcony and saw Selene there, her hands bright with the silver energy she used to save them. She mouthed a thank you to Selene and saw Jadeite and Zoicite come out to where she and Tuxedo Mask were.
"Are you ok?" Jadeite asked her. "Yeah I'm fine." She reassured him.
Zoicite looked at Tuxedo Mask and asked
"Are you a friend or an enemy."
"If you are after the Silver Moon Crystal, then we are enemies." He said and jumped away over the fence.
Serena looked sad, she knew she could never consider Endymion her enemy, when he meant everything to her, but of course Jadeite and Zoicite didn't know that. She wanted to argue with them on this but she knew this wasn't the best time to do so.
"Transform Serena, we need to heal the princess." She heard Jadeite say breaking her out of the thoughts of her prince.
She nodded and screamed "Moon prism power!" She transformed and the three were going to go back inside to heal Princess Diamond when she stood before them.
"Where do you think you're going?" she snarled and fired dark energy at the three superheroes.
"Fire dragon blast!" Jadeite yelled as he fired his fire dragon along with a sacred sutra that proceeded to knock the princess out cold.
Sailor Moon then took out her wand and yelled "Moon Healing Activation!" Princess Diamond then turned back into herself. Sailor Moon turned back into Serena.
Up above seeing that her plan failed Jupiter stooped fighting with Lissette and disappeared angry that her plans failed once again. Selene and Lissette made a quick escape and turned back into Stacey and Lilly and went back into the ball happy that Serenity had once again foiled the plans of the Dark Kingdom.
Down below Serena was saying "How could you guys doubt Tuxedo Mask? Of course he's an ally, would an enemy save me; I don't think so."
"He could still be dangerous Serena, we should still watch out for him." Zoicite said. Jadeite nodded. They both de-transformed and while Zack went back into the ball, Justin came to Serena and said "I have something to tell you, but I'll tell you later, now I'm off to enjoy the ball with my fiancé." He then followed Zack back into the ball.
Serena didn't know what Justin wanted to say to her, she just hoped Kasei hadn't told him anything to bring back his memories because that would not be good for her. She decided to wait for later and see what he would tell her.
Luna then came up to her. "It's ironic that Justin and Zack would think their prince is evil." Serena said.
"Yes, but keep in mind that they don't know Tuxedo Mask is their prince. They're just trying to be careful, now get inside and enjoy the ball, you don't get to enjoy these anymore, and its best enjoy it while you can."
Serena smiled at her feline guardian. "Thank you Luna." And went back inside.
Later that night Princess Diamond showed off her treasure which of course was not the Silver Moon Crystal, just a two thousand karat crystal. She walked over to the drink table and picked up a glass of wine. She probably drank it fast because as soon as she was done she started feeling dizzy and started to fall, but was caught in a pair of arms that she knew so well she didn't need to look at the person to know who was holding her; they were the arms of her beloved prince.
Tuxedo Mask was surprised as he ran into the mysterious princess from before about to fall to floor in what appeared to be a dizzy spell from drinking wine. He proceeded to bring her to the outside balcony where he hoped the fresh air would make her feel better.
The fresh air was just what she needed, it relieved her dizziness, but she felt so comfortable in the arms of her prince that she closed her eyes and relished in this amazing feeling.
Tuxedo Mask sat her down gently and looked at the mysterious princess and felt the overwhelming urge to be closer to her so he leaned in slowly and for the first time in a thousand years the Golden Prince of Earth and the Silver Princess of the Moon kissed in the light of the full moon.
"I remember feeling like this a long time ago, I feel my memory slowly starting to come back. Goodbye my dream princess." He said and jumped off the balcony and disappeared into the night.
At that moment Serena woke up, stood up and put her fingers to her lips.
"Come back to me soon Endy my darling prince, I'll always be here waiting for you." She whispered after him and went back inside to the ball to find Stacey, Lilly, Kasei and the guys.
An/ There you go. A nice long chapter to compensate the long wait. I am so sorry for the wait but its looks like real life doesn't want me to continue writing, but I promise that I will finish this story. I hate it when writers start a story and then don't finish it. So that will never happen with this story. Looks like we have one solid couple now that Justin remembered his love for Kasei, and Darien is starting to remember his love for Serenity. Now he just has to find her outside the dream realm as regular Serena. Read and Review.
See you fans next chapter.
