Third Person View
The great leaders that rule the current universe are all restless, one of the last two civilizations in the galaxy is self-destructing and most of the countermeasures they do are useless. Finn and his friends are defying them, Tyrone grows weary with the pace at which the events are happening, so he called in the others to discuss about what to do. "We should reassess our plans, this hu... vampire is receiving help in defying his fate." "That's what I'm thinking too, we can't touch him since he has all those being around him." Hugo said. "It just became harder since he was turned, his soul was locked deep inside his being, and even I can't touch it." Alesse added.
"Is that true?" Samantha asked. "Yes, vampires don't really lose their soul, it's hidden deep within them. I've spent centuries trying to get into one of them but all was in vain." Samantha reached out her hand and an image of Finn and the others went and flashed in front of everyone in the room to see. "Focus on the one on the left." She said as she points at princess Bubblegum. "That woman has been roaming Ooo for a while now, and the worst part of it is that she is the one with the most power." Tia said angrily, since the beginning Princess Bubblegum has given Tia a hard time since she always avoided death in the past.
"So you suggest we take her down then?" Hugo asked. "Wait, can't we avoid killing again?" Alesse asked. The world needs to be saved but still for her every soul counts. "I can't let death have her, she's on his list." "I can't promise anything, we will consider every option but if worse comes to worse, she has to die." Tyrone said. This sparked an argument between the two; meanwhile Tia had a grim premonition. Finn was leading an army of demons, every kingdom they go burned to the ground. "You can't kill the Princess." She uttered, Tyrone looked at her and he asked, "What made you say that?" "A premonition." She answered. Alesse smiled knowing Tia sided with her.
"I can make her forget about him and what she was fighting for." Hugo said. "You can, but you need to plan it carefully. It needs to look natural or that woman will get suspicious." Samantha pointed out Marceline, Samantha has seen Marceline's animosity and cunning mind, being the daughter of Hunson Abadeer made her untouchable. "What about her, can we use her?" Tyrone asked. "No, it'll just add more fuel to the fire. Messing with her will spawn another threat." The leaders are running out of options. Flame Princess was out of the picture, for now, since she is currently possessed by her own father. Hugo described it as horrid, for a father to do that to his daughter.
"For now our best option is to keep them alive, Hugo you work with Samantha to take care of that Princesses memories. Tia you keep an eye on the future, for any changes. That is all now go." With that each of the leaders went but Alesse stayed and she asked, "What should I do?" "You keep on researching about the vampire's soul, and regarding Tia please take care of her I can't look after her since I'm always trying to balance the universe." Alesse accepted her task and as she leave she said, "What if we talked to him, do you think things will be different?" "We'll never know now." Tyrone answered. "Right." Alesse left. Leaving Tyrone alone, thinking.
Marceline POV
"You there, carry this man back." I said as I escorted the burnt soldier back to the group. The two alliances formed a lousy truce; I could feel the anger between them even when they need to work together. It was annoying to watch but I have more problems at my plate, Wraiths with the reinforcement from the fire kingdom's army are hard to defeat. "Marceline, take some of the soldiers with you!" Bonnie exclaimed. "Okay you heard her, I need two squads to fight the regular soldiers, I'll take care of the wraiths." They nodded then we began mobilizing towards the enemy. After the squads separate the soldiers and the Wraiths I began picking them of one bye one.
It was just like the past war, I push through and nothing can stop me. "Focus on the vampire!" one of the generals yelled. The enemy started going at me in groups some strays were targeting the regular soldiers. I need to win this but I can't do so while the others die, I continued swinging my axe but when I heard one candy soldier scream I decided to take all of them at once. "All of you get back now!" "No we will fight until death!" I dropped my axe and I transformed into my giant form. "GO!" I yelled, this time they complied. The Wraiths continued charging at me but they were all just crushed under my foot.
"Marceline that's enough the Wraiths are gone." I shrunk back, but as I picked up my axe three elite flame officers came at me swinging. "Stand down vampire queen, if you have any respect for the old king Aiden you will not stand in our way." "Don't drag my friend into this, my enemy right now is that queen of yours." With that their swords clashed with my axe, I kicked one of them away and I elbowed the one in the middle. The last one threw flames at me but I swept his foot off the ground and he misfire on the air. The three backed up, the ground shook which made me lose my balance. "Torch her now!"
I looked up and I saw three fireballs hurling towards me, I readied myself for the impact but there was none. "Marcy, are you alright!?" "Simon! Thanks." "Don't mention it." He continued flying but he stopped when we all saw Fire giants stomping the battlefield. I contacted Bonnie and I said, "Bonnie get the people away from here!" "Alright, but you need to help Ice king!" After that, sirens rang, the soldiers began retreating. "Marceline, climb on!" Simon said, I stood on his ice cloud and as the fire giants come he prepared his ice giants by reinforcing them more with dark ice. "Okay *whew* here we go!" He began controlling the ice giants and the clash between the giants began.
With each strike from the giants the ground shakes hard, I was helping Simon by keeping small elementals out of the giants that were trying to melt them off. One by one the ice giants were slowly losing, Simon was ticked off he flew on to one of the last ice giants. I joined him but then he said, "Get out of here Marceline." "No I won't leave you alone." He sent me away with an ice cloud, began chanting and after a few minutes a blizzard appears extinguishing the fire giants. "You'll pay for that Ice king!" Flame Princess blazed through the land melting every ice and ice giant on her path then she punched Simon out of the air.
Finn POV
Flame king pulled out a flame sword to counter my conspirator, Jake tried to pull a sucker punch while I keep the king busy but he was the one caught off guard. A fire ball hits him directly on his face so he backed up and growled at him, after fanning out the heat I saw that the flame shield failing. "Jake get out of here, go help the kingdom, I'll finish Flame king here." Flame king kicked me off and he said, "Bold words, human." "Finn, you can't you need my help." Jake said to me. "Just GO!" Jake's skin started to really feel the heat so I nodded at him and he left me and Flame King alone.
I picked up the conspirator and attacked flame king again, I swung in front of him. He was going to block it again so I jumped fast; I removed the shadows from the conspirator and drove it towards flame king's head. He tried to block it with his left arm but the sheer weight of my sword crushed his armor exposing his flames. "Damn you, this armor was made five hundred years ago." "No wonder it was just for show." Flame king bursts out and this time he launched fire balls at me, I swung the conspirator around to disperse the flames but as I did Flame king was bringing his fist towards my face. "This is gonna hurt bad."
I only had a few seconds I put up a thin layer of shadow to protect me but as expected it wasn't enough, my head was driven to the ground and Flame king punched me repeatedly. "Is this all you can take human? A few distractions and a strike to the face? Pathetic." "I'm not human you prick!" I grabbed his armor and I began tearing it off of him, I managed to pull out the right arm armor before he jumped away. I stood up, I fixed back my nose and I said, "Let's take this somewhere exciting shall we?" I tackled him and I yelled, "NOW HUNSON!" "Sure thing kid." A portal opened and we both went through.
As we were falling in the Nightosphere I punched Flame king repeatedly and I threw in some kicks too. As we reach the ground Hunson appears at the bottom and opened another portal. "I got a present for you kid, take it." It was a gauntlet, I stopped punching I aimed my hand and as we exit the gauntlet fitted. Flame king began screaming as we landed on an icy hill, "I'll have that armor kid." I nodded as I began dismantling the last pieces of Flame King's armor after that Hunson closes the portal and I looked back at my opponent. "This ends today Flame king." He screamed louder as he melts towards the ground shrinking smaller and smaller.
By the time we got to the ground he was reduced into his essence. 'Such a fragile existence.' I thought to myself, I used my shadow arms to pick the orb up. I was careful but as I thought of all his evil deeds I lost control and crushed it, his essence was absorbed by mine and I noticed that my shadows can be engulfed by flames making it more solid and powerful. "EVERYBODY GET DOWN!" I looked up to see what was happening and I saw where I really am. I was at the battlefield and I saw FP engulfing the land in a pillar of fire. I needed to stop her the only way I know how.
Flame Princess POV
I was having a nightmare, Dad was freed and rampaging all over Ooo. Many were burning and the fire giants were also unleashed. I was trying to snap out of it for a while now but what brought me back was a sharp pain on my cheek. Finn was the one who slapped me. I felt a sudden surge of energy flew out of my body it knocked the two of us back. I held my head as I scan my surroundings and what I saw was my soldiers subdued and I heard slime Princess yelling, "Seize her!" Rock soldiers began surrounding me but they were stopped when dark flames circled around me. "We'll take it from here Slime Princess."
"Who made you in charge Finn?" She retorted. "We had enough to mourn for today have we?" She glared at me and she said, "We're all putting you on target, even Bubblegum." Then they all left. The flames went out, I looked at Finn and he was different. Pale skin, he was taller since I last saw him. "Finn what's happening?" He floated towards me which surprised me and another question popped inside me, 'how long was I out? Why am I here?' "You've waged war against all of Ooo and I stopped you." "WHAT!? I'll never do that!" I grabbed his hands and it was cold to my touch. "You stopped me? Finn you gotta believe me I didn't-"
"Calm down FP, you were possessed by your dad and I took care of him." Finn saved me again, last time I saw him was before I blacked out. This is my chance, to make it up with him. He was still explaining when I stopped and said, "Finn I'm sorry for leaving you, I wasn't thinking straight and I just-" "You just what, FP?" I didn't waste my time and I pulled him into a kiss, I pulled him close but he pushed away, stood up and said, "I'm sorry FP, I have someone now." Marceline flew towards us and Finn took her hands and she kissed him. "You had your chance, Princess." I was shocked and I said to Finn.
"Finn I tried calling you out when you went to the fire kingdom but you ran and I fell unconscious, she took you away that fast?" "FP, that was a year ago." My eyes went wide, my father was controlling my body for a year. What could have happened while I wasn't me? "Where's CB, is he safe?" I looked at Finn, he then looked at me and Marceline. He whispered something to her which made her cover her mouth, after that she said, "You go with her, and I'll inform Bonnie." Finn helped me to stand and he said, "Let's get you and your people back to the fire kingdom." My people were released and we went back to the kingdom.
Finn and I were alone in the throne room so I asked, "Have you seen CB, he might be held somewhere." Finn pulled a lever which revealed a dungeon below my throne. "Come with me Princess." I followed Finn and I saw CB's burnt body. I fell on my knees and I sobbed, "H-how did this happen?" "I'm sorry but he was like this when Jake and I got here, we were too late." Finn took CB's body up the throne room and we closed the dungeon up, I sat at my throne trying to collect my thoughts. "I'll bring the body to the candy kingdom for burial shortly, do you need anything FP?" "Can you hold me?" I asked.
The silence inside was as cold as ice; Finn walked up to me and gave me a tight embrace. It felt contradicting with his icy touch I felt warm; we can't be together now that he can withstand fire. "I'm sorry for your loss FP. I hope you find happiness soon." "Do I really have no chance in your heart?" Finn smiled and shook his head. "Marceline is the only one I love now, I hope like me you find new love." "I might not forget about you, so I'll wait until the end of time." Finn sighed and said, "I'll take my leave now, come tomorrow at the candy kingdom so we could see CB off." I nodded and as he left I began crying again.
Third Person View (3 days later)
Princess Bubblegum was readying herself, the whole kingdom is waiting. "Bonnie do you want to talk?" "Yeah come in." Marceline slowly approached her along with Flame Princess who came to pay respects to her fallen knight. "PB I'm sorry, I was weak, I could have saved him." "No it's okay, he knew what perils he faced besides he grew in the fire kingdom. You perfected him." Flame Princess approached her equal and said, "As respect to Cinnamon bun I pledge to assist the candy kingdom in any way we can, just call and we'll come." Princess Bubblegum wiped away her tears and she smiled at Marceline and Flame Princess. "Me too Bonnie, Finn and I will help." "Thanks Marcy and fl-"
"Call me phoebe, it's my given name." The two was surprised to learn her real name. "It's a privilege, Phoebe I appreciate it." The three came out of the room and the guards led them to the gardens at the back of the palace. Everyone was silent, Bubblegum saw this and began the ceremony. "We all know Cinnamon bun to be a cheerful and he never fails to bring us joy in his own special way, unfortunately he passed while fighting for what he believes and that is a great thing. For that we present to him a statue to celebrate his life, he is irreplaceable to us and we know you all feel the same. He will be missed."
The banana guards lifted the cloth to reveal a life sized figure of Cinnamon bun, everybody was busy mourning that they didn't see another tragedy coming. While Bubblegum was stepping down from the podium a lone arrow struck her directly to the heart, the people panicked, Finn and his friends rushed to the fallen Princess' side. "NO! PB, stay awake, maybe we could." "Finn we need to move her, the kingdom is being invaded!" Jake said. He carried the four on his back and they retreated to the palace where they tried to save her. "Get her medicine or something, she's losing breath!" Finn said. Marceline was busy fending off the attack while Finn coordinates with doctor princess. "Finn, stop."
He looks at the Princess and he said, "No, just save your energy Princess-" "Listen, I can't stay anymore, I've been alive for as long as I remember. I had mistakes in the past but at the very least I corrected them all before I passed." "No, I won't let you die, not now!" She caresses his face and said, "My time is up Finn, but I'm g-glad to know that you cared for me." She looked at Flame Princess and said, "I'll give you the biggest b-burden of all, phoebe, take care of my kingdom." "What!? No I can't , I don't know if-" "You can, do it for Cinnamon bun, for the kingdom he loves." Bubblegum finished.
Just right when Marceline came to them Bubblegum closed her eyes and whispered, 'Take care of Finn, I love you both.' After that she released her last dying breath, Finn stared at the Princess' lifeless body. "Finn we need to go, the candy people needs our help." Marceline said. Flame princess went down first but the queen won't go without him. "Finn, we'll come back later please." Finn closed his eyes and gritted his teeth, he felt so useless letting a princess, let alone a close friend, die. He brought Bubblegum's body close and as he screams the whole kingdom was engulfed by his shadows. A colossal dome covered the kingdom stopping everyone inside it, the dome was getting bigger but suddenly his body was paralyzed.
A bright light came into view destroying the barrier he created and with that light came the six leaders of the universe. "She really died." Tyrone said. "Drop that we have another problem here." They all looked at Finn. "Who are you, let me go!" Finn said. "I'll listen to him if you are as wise as I think you are." Death suddenly appears he arrived to get his most elusive prize. "I'll be taking this, see you soon Finn." "NO!" Finn shouted. He tried to break free but it was too late Death was gone and so does the princess' body. "YOU, you let him take her!" Finn broke free and attacked the six but they immediately disappeared.
Finn landed after his failed counter attack, he was holding his head while shedding tears. "Finn, let's go. We'll have a chat with death once we finish here." Marceline said, Finn was left with no choice. He can only help what Bubblegum left, but he's determined to bring her back. "Alright but if I go too far, please stop me." Marceline became worried if Finn should be fighting, before they go to the field she embraced him and she said, "You won't Finn, I know it." Finn held her hand and brought it close to his lips. "Marcy, Thank you." Marceline remembers her nightmare, this might be the time where Finn dies. 'No, Finn is a vampire, he can't die." She thought to herself.
This is the chapter is so far the heaviest one I wrote, I'm not fond of characters dying but this is the direction I see where the story should go in the grand scheme of things. That was one of the reasons that I haven't released last week, I wanted to start writing but my love for the characters won't let me. Well in the end, PB is dead, Ooo is in chaos and Finn finally met the Pillar leaders.
