The Dr. Wily Show: Episode 10

The crowd cheered as Dr. Wily took a sip of his coffee and sat down. He smiled warmly at them and said, "Greetings everyone, and welcome to the Dr. Albert Wily Show. I'm your host, Dr. Wily, and today's guest is supposed to be the fastest thing alive. Please welcome Sonic the Hedgehog, everyone!" The crowd applauded louder as Sonic ran past the camera and sat down in a blink of the eye, his whole emitting an aura confidence, almost to an reckless degree. "Wow, that WAS fast," Wily said in surprise, his eyes wide and his mouth hanging wide open.

Sonic placed his feet on the other's desk, leaning back. Wily's eyes went back to their normal size as he glared at the hedgehog's face, then at his shoes, then back at his face. He forced a giant smile on his face and his voice to sound upbeat. "So, how are you, Sonic?"

"Doin' good, Wily, doin' good," Sonic replied, his hands behind his head and a careless smile across his face.

"So, tell me," the scientist began while he leaned closer to Sonic, curiosity all over his face, especially his eyes, "how many miles an hour can you go? After hearing so much about you, I just have to know."

"Oh, it's about 169, I think," the hedgehog quickly replied, his voice extremely cocky.

Dr. Wily raised his eyebrows and his eyes widened. "Really?" His voice was in total disbelief, a frown on his face. "That fast?"

"Yep," Sonic said and his smile stretched farther across his face. "Anything you need? It'll be no problem," he said, wanting to show off his speed once more. He finally took his feet off the desk, much to the host's relief.

"No, not really," the evil scientist replied while he frowned, eyebrows still raised. For a fraction of a second he winced when he noticed the dirt on his once spotless wooden desk. "I can't think of anything," he added after a moment. As he tapped his fingers along his his chair, he eyed the hedgehog, still skeptical. "So would you say you're the fastest you've ever been?"

The guest's smile faltered for a second. "Yeah, I'd say that."

Enker noticed the look of total hatred and rage on Quick Man's face and how he was shaking. "Umm, what's with you, Quick Man? ...Quick Man? Uh, Quick Man?" He waved his hand in front of the robot's face. "Yoohoo, you okay there, buddy?"

"Nothing. Nothing is wrong, Enker," the speedy robot said harshly as he slapped the other's hand away almost violently, not even noticing the way the other glared at him. "Absolutely nothing," he whispered with clenched fists and teeth, still giving Sonic the evil eye.

Wily smiled at the hedgehog. "So, is there anyone who can even compete with your speed?" he said before he took a sip of steaming hot coffee, watching him closely.

A proud smile still there, Sonic continued, his voice extremely cocky, "Nope, I'm the best."

Dr. Wily's smile widened, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "So, you're saying that no metallic or organic thing can beat you in a race?" When the other nodded, he leaned back and folded his arms, a skeptical smile on his aged face. Without looking away from the hedgehog, he gestured at the room. "Would you care to prove your claim?"

The hedgehog's smile widened even more, enough to show his perfect, sharp, white teeth. His emerald green eyes held a glint similar to Dr. Wily's. "Sure," he quickly responded, so much excitement and joy in his voice. He jumped to his feet, he excitedly said, "Who do you want me to race?"

"Hmm, Quick Man," the scientist said quickly, not even glancing at the mentioned robot, his eyes on the confident hedgehog.

"...Yes?" Quick Man asked hopefully and smiled with excitement. 'This is my chance to prove I'm that fastest thing alive!' he screamed in his head. 'This is the moment I've been waiting for my whole life! Finally I'll be recognized for my amazing skills!'

"Quick Man, I need you to go get Turbo Man." Quick Man's smile quickly fell from his face, his face completely crestfallen. "And hurry. I doubt someone like Sonic is patient," Wily added, looking quite impatient himself.

Quick Man sighed loudly, staring at the ground, his face still downcast. "Yes, Lord Wily," he whispered sadly as he left the room, his back hunched over and his movements sluggish.

Wily stared at the hedgehog for a few seconds. "I really have to know, how old are you?" When Sonic frowned, the scientist quickly added, "I'm asking that because I interviewed Shadow not too long ago and, well... he's over 50..."

Sonic laughed aloud. "Oh, I'm twenty."

Wily also laughed. "Sorry about that. In our world, animals don't talk, and well," he trailed, a small embarrassed smile on his face. He cleared his throat. "Now," he began, looking the hedgehog over, creeping Sonic out a little, "you've defeated Robotnik and many other people, what would you say was the worst experience?"

Sonic sighed, a frown on his face. "The worst? Well, the time Egghead turned me into a werehog was pretty bad." The shuddered as unpleasant memories kept flooding his mind. "I do not enjoy being that. Sure it has it upsides, like the flexibility, but.." He trailed off, still shuddering.

The old man frowned. "Egg...head?"

Sonic gave a tiny nod, his face serious. "Yeah, that's right." Suddenly a grin crossed his face as he continued, "I call him Egghead, you know, cause the idiot's shaped like an egg and stuff."

The scientist opened his mouth to voice his thoughts about how using the name Egghead and idiot to refer to the same person didn't make any sense, but decided against it. He sighed and rubbed his temples, feeling a headache. "I'm assuming a werehog is a mixture between a hedgehog and a werewolf." He sighed again when the hedgehog nodded. "I thought so.." Much lower, he added, "I don't think I want to know..." If the hedgehog heard him, he didn't comment on that last part. He sighed. "Okay, now-" At that moment, Quick Man kicked one of the doors open, startling everyone. His creator gave a small yelp and placed his hand over his chest as his heart began to race. "Quick Man!" Wily yelled, furious as he glared at the robot. "Don't do that! You almost gave me a heart attack!" The scientist frowned, looking him over. In a quiet, slight accusative voice, he asked, "Where's Turbo Man?"

"Don't know and don't care," was the robot's only response as he plopped down into a chair, refusing to meet his creator's intense hateful gaze.

Wily started to glare at him once more. "...And you're not going to look for him anymore?"

"No," Quick Man said, crossing his arms, a small pout across his face..

The scientist began to tremble, feeling enraged. "Why not?" he spat out.

"Because," answered the robot, annoyance written all over his face as he glared at the guest. Sonic frowned, an inquisitive expression on his face.

Dr. Wily clenched his fist. "Because why?" he said, his voice rising.

"Because he'll just lose," Quick Man answered with a shrug, his voice cold, so cold that ice cubes would've given off more heat.

"Yeah, he's right, Wily," said Bass, "he'll just lose like all your Robot Masters." Wily glared at him. Bass just gave him an innocent smile in response, showing his teeth. "I'm just saying, you don't have the best luck when it comes to your robots winning."

"Umm, Master Wily..." Gemini Man bit his bottom lip. "Why don't you just let Quick Man race him?" Quick Man's eyes sparkled with hope and excitement and he grinned. He faced Wily, his excitement and hope growing with every second. But it seemed like Dr. Wily didn't heard the question at all.

Wily sighed aloud. "Great, thanks to you," he glared at Quick, who was completely unfazed by it, "I forget what I was going to ask." As he rubbed his chin, he began to speak. "Anyway, I was going to ask Shadow this, but I didn't want to get on his bad side since, you know, he carries guns. But what is his problem?"

Sonic frowned and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Well, he's always in such a terrible mood. Even when Bass wasn't laughing at him, he was in a horrible mood," Wily said with a shake of his head, his eyes closed as he continued to shake his head.

The hedgehog threw his head back and laughed, making the scientist's eyes abruptly open. "Oh, that? Shadow's always been a zoning out grouch. I don't think there's anything to fix that."

"Zoning out?" Dr. Wily said while frowning, his expression one of confusion.

The hedgehog chuckled loudly. "Yeah, he's always goes into moods of his where he zones out and starts livin' the past, talking about Maria. Not to mention that he always losin' his memory." He chuckled again. "Honestly, that's like the guy's greatest talent or something."

Wily looked at his wristwatch. "And it looks like we're out of time." He gave Sonic a small, stretching his towards him. "I was nice having you on the show," he said as he shook the hedgehog's hand. He looked at the audience. "Give a big round of applause for Sonic, everyone!" The audience cheered as Sonic got up and left.
