Chapter 7: Inside the mind of Lilo
After failing to wake Lilo up, Lily reached into her pocket and pulls out her phone.
Lily: Hello, 911? I need an ambulance! It's a emergency!
A few minutes later, a ambulance arrived at the hospital and the paramedics is rushing to get Lilo to a room.
Nurse: [places her hand on Lily's shoulder] Don't worry, miss. We will try to save your daughter.
Lily: Actually, she's my niece but thanks.
As the nurse walks off, Lily sat down on a chair and began to recall what Lilo said to her.
Echo Lilo: I-i told you i rather stay in the house like i usually do on weekends.
A single tear is seen coming down Lily's face.
Lily: [In her thoughts] This is my fault. I was the one who brought her out of the house! I caused this! [tries not to cry] Lilo, please be alright!
[Sometimes later, Lilo is walking around what seems to be a empty void with its surroundings remain a constant bright iridescent white aurora.]
Lilo: Where am i? Aunty Lily? Aunty Lily, where are you? I don't know where i am but this place is starting to give me the creeps.
[Lilo stopped upon seeing something in the distance. It turns out to be Lily with her back turned to Lilo. Lilo smiles and walked up to her.]
Lilo: There you are, Aunty Lily. Listen, do you know a way out of here? This is getting me the creeps. [Lily didn't say anything and still got her back turned towards Lilo] Aunty Lily?
[Lily slowly turned around to look at Lilo to reveal that her eyes are gone, only having just empty, black sockets and a angry look on her face.]
Lily: What do you want, you no good failure?!
[Lilo gasped in shock and horror by what Lily said.]
Lilo: Wha...what did you just say?
Lily: Did i stutter? I called you a failure because that's is what you are. Just like Lynn said.
[Lilo's eyes widened with tears and slowly walk backwards away from Lily before eventually running away sobbing.]
Lilo: [in her thoughts] Why did she say that? She never said that! What made her do that now?! What did i do now?! [bumps into someone and falls; she looks up and see who it was she bumped into to see Luna and Luan with the same look as Lily with empty, black sockets]
Luna: [annoyed] Oh, look who it is. It's the family's disgrace.
Luan: Why are you even here? Go away, trash.
[Lilo tried running away again only to bump into Lana and Lola, who just like the others, have empty, black sockets for eyes.]
Lola: [disgusted] Ugh! It's the annoying little failure! Don't touch me with your failure!
Lana: Yeah! Like she said!
[Lilo got back up and runs to the left only to be blocked off by Lori and Leni, who also has the same empty eyes as the others. Lilo runs to the right only to be once again blocked off by Lucy and Lisa. Eventually, all the sisters, including Lily, surround Lilo as they body suddenly turned distorted black figures of themselves as they call Lilo every hateful word there is while Lilo is sitting in a fetal position and covering her ears to prevent hearing those words.]
Lilo: [hoarsely] Stop it! Why are you guys saying all of these things?! What have i done to you all?! I didn't do anything to you! Please, stop it!
[The distorted sisters stopped talking and moved out of the way for another person wearing a hooded cloak to walk towards Lilo, who has now taken a appearance of her three year old self.]
???: Hello, failure. [Lilo looks up and her eyes widened in horror to see her worst nightmare, Lynn looking down at her with an maniacal grin on her face] Long time, no see.
[Lynn violently grabs Lilo by her shirt and held her up as Lilo tries to set herself off; she looks at the crazed Lynn forming a fist as she get ready to punch Lilo. However, two blue balls of light appears out of nowhere and got in between Lynn and Lilo, causing the former to look at them in confusion.]
Lynn: Huh?
[The balls suddenly turned into a huge bright light, blinding and destroying Lynn and the distorted sisters, while also temporarily blinding Lilo. Once the light went away, Lilo opens her eyes again and looks around to see that Lynn and the other sisisters are now done.]
Lilo: They're gone. But where did they go?
Female voice: Somewhere they can't no longer bother you.
[Lilo turned around and see a 17 year old girl with dark tan skin, black hair worn in a ponytail, freckles on her cheeks, and two buck teeth that stick out of her mouth wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt and jean shorts.]
Male voice: You are safe now...Lilo.
[Lilo then look to the other side to see a 17 year old boy with white skin, short white hair, and a large tuft of his hair sticks up, an overbite with a prominent chipped front tooth, and freckles on his cheeks as well wearing a orange polo shirt and blue jeans.]
Lilo: [getting suspicious] Who are you two? Where did you come from? And why do you two look familiar? Also, how do you know my name?
Female teen: That's because I'm was the one who gave you that name.
Lilo: You did? But if what you are saying is true, that would make you my...
Male teen: I'll take it that she finally realize who we are?
[Lilo runs up to the female teenager and hugs her.]
Female teen: Yeah, she did.
Lilo: [shed some tears] I never thought i will ever meet you two. Mom and Dad.
Ronnie Anne: I know, hija. I know. [embrace Lilo with a hug while Lincoln watches with a smile]
Lilo: [breaks the embrace and begins to realize something] But wait, this doesn't make sense. Why are you guys here? I thought you two died. [worried in realization] Wait, does that mean I'm dead and joined you two in the afterlife?
Lincoln: No, you're not dead. You is actually inside your mind. As chessy as that sounds.
Lilo: [looks around] This is my mind? I wasn't expecting it to be nothing but an empty space. Wait a minute. If I'm in my mind, then why are you guys here? In fact, how did you two enter my mind? You two are supposed to be dead!
Ronnie Anne: We are dead. We just decided to finally pay you a proper visit.
Lilo: A proper visit? Wait, are you saying what I'm think you are saying?
Lincoln: That's right, Lilo. We have been visiting you from time to time. Just not in your mind. I know it's sounds confusing but i hope that you will eventually understand.
Lilo: [shaken with rage] Understand? Are you kidding me? [enraged] How am i supposed to understand all this?! You just said that you have been visiting me from time to time! Why am i meeting the two of you for the first time now?! What have you two been doing until now?! Where were you when i needed you two the most?! Do you know the hell i went through growing up? I got hit in the jaw and was called a failure and an abomination by Lynn. I have been bullied by kids at school for being a parentless child. I have been fighting and fighting and fighting! And don't me started on the cuts that i put on my arms!
Ronnie Anne: Lilo, we're sorry you had to go through that.
Lilo: [starts to cry] NO YOU'RE NOT SORRY!!! If you two were sorry, you would've been there for me when i need someone to talk to, to help me out with my problems and to prevent me from having these thoughts of not being wanted and suicide. Why can't i just have an normal life? That is all i wanted! Instead, i got two dead parents, a aunt who hates me, and a hellish life! This isn't fair! It was never fair...
[Lincoln and Ronnie Anne look at each other, feeling bad that their daughter lived in such a terrible life.]
Lincoln: [walking up to her and comfort her] Look, Lilo. I know that you are upset at us for leaving you to suffer in this life and we are sorry for that.
Ronnie Anne: But look at the bright side, at least you got to meet us for the first time and talk to us. Even if we don't have each time to stay here.
Lilo: [sniffs] I guess you are right.
Lincoln: Is there's anything you wanna know about for the time being?
Lilo: Well, there are several things i want to know but the one i really want to know is, how did you two died? Because everyone said that the both of you die before and after i was born but never told me how you die.
Lincoln: They didn't, huh? [he looks over at Ronnie Anne, who nods at him to Lilo how they died; sighs] Okay then, let's tell you what happened that caused us to pass away.
[Meanwhile in the hospital, Lily is still sitting on chair in the near the entrance to the hospital worrying about Lilo when she spotted her family entering from the corner of her eye.]
Lori: [worried] We got your message, sis. Is everything okay?
Lily: No, it's not. Someone attacked Lilo in the alleyway and is now in one of these hospital rooms and it's because of me. It's my fault that she is in here! [starts crying]
Leni: [comfort Lily] There, there Lily.
Lucy: Who in their right mind would attack Lilo in the alleyway for?
Lana Do you think Lynn did it?
Lola: Or those kids who bully her at school?
Luna: [irked] Whoever did this to Lilo better be lucky. Because if i find the ones responsible for this, I'm going to regret for sending the little dudette in the hospital!
Rita: Luna, i know that you is very upset about this but i gotta need to calm down. You're not making this situation any better.
Luna: [calms down and sighs] I know, Mom. I just want the bastards responsible for this to get what they deserve.
Rita: As do i, Luna. As do i.
[Back inside Lilo's mind, Lilo and her parents are sitting on the ground together with Lincoln and Ronnie Anne finishing telling their story on how they passed away.]
Lincoln: And that's is the how we died.
Lilo: I see. [to Lincoln] So you were killed by a heart virus one year prior of my birth... [to Ronnie Anne] And you died from material death shortly after i was born?
Ronnie Anne: That pretty much summed it.
Lilo: [in her thoughts] Okay, i know now on how my parents passed away. But the question that still bugs me is, why Aunty Lynn hate me, and why don't she like it when anyone mentions my Dad? Hmmm... i wonder...
Lincoln: Something wrong, kiddo?
Lilo: [snapping out of her thoughts] Huh? Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking about something.
Ronnie Anne: What was you thinking about?
Lilo: Nothing special. By the way, i been meaning to ask you guys. How did the two of you get to together in the first place?
Lincoln: I had a feeling that question was about to pop up sooner or later. Anyway, me and your mother got together at the age that you are currently at after we confess our love to each other.
Lilo: You did? Huh, must've have been hard for you two to do that, didn't it?
Lincoln: At first it was. But after talking to your Aunt Lori about my feelings for your mother and if I'm the right person for her, i have gathered up my courage and took her i loved her.
Ronnie Anne: The same for me too. I was afraid to confess my feelings towards your father at first. But after having a talk with your grandmother about it, i worked up the courage to tell him how i feel and here we are now. Still dating even in the afterlife.
Lilo: [impressed] Wow, i wasn't expecting to hear that but at least i got an answer for it. [chuckles slightly] Mom? Dad? Do you think that i will have the same luck as you guys? Because you see, i got a crush on this boy i know and i really want to confess my feelings for him but I'm afraid that i won't be as lucky as you guys.
Ronnie Anne: Only time will tell, Lilo.
Lilo: Yeah, i guess you're right. Speaking of crushes, you got a pretty messed up way of showing your love for someone, Mom.
Ronnie Anne: [taken aback by Lilo's comment] Whoa, where did that come from? Also, how do you know about that?
Lilo: Uncle Bobby took me that you used to do crude pranks on Dad just to gain your attention and stuff. And thanks to you, i have apparently inherited thay from you.
Ronnie Anne: Well, you is my daughter after all. So of course you will inherit some of my quirks.
Lilo: [chuckles] Whatever.
[Lincoln looked at his hand and notices that it's becoming transparent.]
Lincoln: Ronnie Anne, look at your hand.
[Ronnie Anne looked at her hand and see that it also becoming transparent.]
Ronnie Anne: Looks like our time is up here.
Lilo: What? No! You guys can't leave now! We just started to get along with each other!
Ronnie Anne: Sorry Lilo. But we don't have enough time to stay here. We have to go back to the other side.
Lilo: [heartbroken] But...you two just got here and we just met.
Ronnie Anne: [hugs Lilo] I know, Lilo. I know.
Lilo: Will i see you guys again?
Ronnie Anne: I don't know to be honest. Maybe, this is the last time me and your father will visit you.
[Hearing her mother saying that, Lilo couldn't help but having tears coming down her face.]
Lincoln: [walks up to Lilo and Ronnie Anne and hugs his daughter alongside his girlfriend] I know it's hard to say goodbye, trust me i know. But you got to remember something. Even if we don't come back to visit you, just know that we love you and we will always watch over you in the afterlife.
Ronnie Anne: Your father's right. And also know this, don't let anyone tell you that you are a mistake or an abomination. You are a human being that deserve to live on this planet just as much as them. I know that you think those things are true but they're not, and you know why? Because you is the hope that keeps our family going.
Lincoln: And we want you to continue giving them that hope. So as our request for you is...
Lincoln and Ronnie Anne: To be the hope that they need. Can you do that for us?
Lilo: [on the verge of crying] Yes! Yes i will!
[Lincoln and Ronnie Anne smiles at their daughter for agreeing to continue being the hope for their families and hugs her again as their body started to fade away.]Lincoln and Ronnie Anne: We are glad to heard that. Oh, and Lilo? Thank you for being our daughter and thank you...for making us your parents.
[Lincoln and Ronnie Anne said their final words to their daughter before fading away. Lilo, now reverted back to her 11 year old self, looked in the distance, shedding a single tear.]
Lilo: Mom, Dad, thank you for giving me the hope i needed. And thank you...for making me your daughter.
A/N: Sorry it took me so long to finish this chapter and uploading up, but here you are.I know I'm might get some criticism from people for what i did for this chapter but i just wanted to have Lilo meet her deceased parents for the first time.Speaking of which, after someone posted an review about an alternate chapter 1 where Ronnie Anne were still alive and raised Lilo until the point that she sacrificed herself to save Lilo from getting killed by Lynn kind of me an idea. I was thinking about making an alternate universe where Ronnie Anne did survive after childbirth and raised her child alone. By child, i mean a different oc from Lilo because i already got two stories with a character name Lilo in it and i don't want it to be like the Anastasia thing again.Anyway, that's all I'm going to say and i will see you guys later. Once i can think of an idea for the next chapter. I might also do the "Lincoln and the mysterious girl" story again like i promised i would do before.
