Derek growled at his refection, still not quite sold on the advice Isaac gave him.

*Flash back * "You have to wear the leather jacket over a sweat shirt." the teen told him "why? I don't even need a coat or a sweatshirt." he growled back, Isaac sighed and looked at him annoyed. "Because, you are going to be around humans who are affected by the weather." He said through gritted teeth. Derek growled "then I'll just wear my jacket." he said exasperated. Isaac slaps his hand over his face grounding his teeth. "No, you need the sweat shirt to wear so when stiles become cold 'which he will' you can loan him your jacket." Isaac explained patiently* end of flash back *

His phones beeped bringing him back to the present. [Umm soo should I just meet you at the game?] He checked the time and cringed the game was starting in lest then thirty minutes. [No, I'm on my way.] Derek sent quickly on his way out the door. The trip to stiles' house took less than ten minutes, but Derek sat in the car for an extra five minute contemplating if he should really be going out with stiles, he was never good at having relationships. He sat there staring at the house when movement caught his eye.

Stiles smiled as he looked out the window, Derek was still sitting in the car, every once in a while he would try and to get out and come up to the door but would return to the car after a few steps. The teen's father came down the stairs, "Aren't you going out with Derek tonight?" he asked as he noticed the boy sitting close to the window. Stiles turned and looked his with a small smile, speaking a little louder then normal he said "Yes we are still going, I'm just waiting for him to get up enough courage to knock on the door." the sheriff's face scrunched up in confusion, not quite sure why his son was talking so loud, That was until he heard and knock on the door and found a very sheepish and irritated Derek standing on the other side. "Ahh, hello there Derek." The over protective father said with a bit of humor in his voice. "Hello sir." Derek said plastering a fake smile on his face to cover his feelings of discomfort. It was a natural response from year of hiding and repressing his emotions. The sheriff accepted the fake smile without comments and let the young man inside the door. He saw Derek's eyes widen as he spotted stiles, and his mouth dropped open a little as a low growl escaped Derek's mouth. Stiles turned red as he felt the alpha's eyes land on him. "H-hi Derek, are you ready to go?" Derek growled again in affirmation his eyes never leaving the teen. Stiles scurried off the couch, grabbed his wallet and walked out the door with Derek not far behind.

They sat quietly on the way to the game; Stiles twiddled his fingers nervously as he looked out the window. Derek glanced at the other boy every once in a while trying to ignore the smell of excitement and fear that was rolling off of him. "Derek, why don't you ever talk about yourself?" He whispered partly to himself knowing he probably wouldn't get an answer from the werewolf sitting next to him. "Because there is not much to say stiles." He said in a gravely tone. "I'm a werewolf, my family is dead and I am not very social. You know all this already." He says avoiding the teen's eyes. Stiles shook his head not believing the man next to him. " That's not true, I've seen how you treat Isaac like a younger brother and the rest of the pack like family, The way you comforted me the other night it was … nice." he argued trailing off with a blush. Derek pulled in to a spot in the back parking lot of the school he turned off the car, and faced stiles hesitantly. "One time stiles, one time I treat you kindly and you forget all the pain I caused you? How can you be so kind? I beat you, and cursed you. I treated you like crap and the pack like dirt!" He yelled the last part causing stiles to flinch and shy away . The smell of fear hit Derek's nose, He felt like a glass of ice water was dumped over his head. He pulled back "see …" he said bitterly. Stiles started to breathe heavily, his eyes were wide and glossy. Derek calmed down enough to register the fact stiles was no longer mentally in the car with him, he was having a panic attack. Derek jumped out of the car and ran quickly to the other door pulling it open so he didn't startle the boy. "Stiles, stiles, shhh its ok breath shhhh I'm not going to hurt you." He repeated calmly over and over. "Derek, Derek? Derek!?" stiles yelled as if calling for Derek to help him. "Stiles I'm here. I'm here." He said drawing stiles in to a hug. Stiles moaned and every once in a while he would scream and say something about 'Derek finding him and save him and "they" would be sorry when he did.' It pained Derek to see Stiles this way and each passing second he grew angrier, the pain and the hurt that stiles went through killed him. He couldn't believe stiles had expected him to rescue him from who he assumed was the Argents and Derek had failed him. Derek sat in silence slowly rubbing the teen's back. Waiting for him to come back to reality, he heard the game start and the crowed cheer. Fifteen minutes later stiles shifted and cleared his throat, "I'm sorry Derek." the teen whispered pulling away from the wolf. "Why Stiles?" he growled, the boy shifted uncomfortable with the question, "why what?" He questioned back confused. Derek just shook his head; he didn't want to start the whole cycle all over again. He just lightly pushed Stiles back in to his seat and buckled him up.

When he got back in the car Stiles looked at him confused "I thought we were going to the game?" He queried. Derek didn't answer as he drove up to the dinner "Stay." Derek told the teen as he got out. Stiles watched as Derek smiled at the girl over the counter, he felt his face scrunch up in jealousy. He watched as the girl laugh and slap Derek's hand playfully, Derek laughed and pointed to the car and the girl nodded. Stiles huffed, crossed his arms and looked away. Fifteen minutes later Derek emerged from the restaurant with two large bags. Stiles didn't say a word, he was still a little miffed about Derek flirting and the waitress. Derek smirked when he caught a glimpse of the brooding teen, stiles huffed again. They drove in silence along the winding road to Derek's house. Derek parked the car and grabbed the bags out of the back seat "Come on." he said softly with a small smile. Stiles unbuckled hesitantly and followed the larger boy into his house.

Although Derek had been working on his house for the last few months he was not yet to the point of getting furniture, by the time stiles trudged up and into the house Derek had set up a blanket, started a fire in the fire place and lit some candles. Stiles gasped in shock at the effort the werewolf put in to the date, it was beautiful. He watched as Derek pulled the food out of the bags he brought in from the car, there was steak, potatoes, French bread and chocolate covered strawberries. Stiles blushed as Derek looked at him as he walked past with two plates piled high with food and sat down in front of the fire. "Let's eat." The werewolf said smiling up at the blushing boy; Stiles scurried over to the blanket and sat down quickly. Derek laughed at the sight, "This looks great Derek! Thank you." stiles said with a huge smile. Derek smirks and a nodded his head, he was proud but tried to cover it by taking a large bite of his steak. The evening went really well, stiles explained how weirdly similar Avatar and Cloudy with a Chance of Meat Balls 2 were and how they should totally make a Deadpool movie 'as long as they stick to the comic'. Derek sat and just listened intently as the teen sputtered on, a true smile on his face. After the strawberries were eaten and the fire started to burn low, Stiles yawned as he stretched across Derek's lap, the wolf played lightly with his hair. Stiles turned and said "This was nice, thank you." the wolf nodded, humming in agreement. He lightly nudged the teen from his lap after he looked at his watch, it was late and the sheriff would probably be worried. As they walked out of the house hand in hand the human boy shivered, Derek let go, took off his jacket and handed it to him. The boy smiled in thanks. Derek silently reminded himself to thank Isaac later for making him wear the extra layers, it was a perfect end to a night that was almost ruined by Derek's inability to trust or except help from others. He sighed in content as he closed the passenger door. When he started the car He turned to stiles who snapped his fingers "Oh thinking about cloths, your shirt, the one I ordered, it arrived today."

Thanks for sticking with me sorry for the wait let me know what you think . :)
