Chapter 10: The vendor

Lara POV

This place is making me crazy, but at least I got what I wanted and now I need to head back to Pierre. I left the club and started walking back to the café and on my way there, I found a man selling news papers. Maybe I should buy the paper and read what's going on. So I approached the new vendor, then something clicked in my head, maybe he knew something about Bouchard.

"What can I get you M'moiselle?" the Vendor asked.

"Do you know someone called Bouchard?" I asked

"I've been on this spot for five years. I know everyone" the Vendor said.

"Do you know how he can be contacted?" I asked.

"Directly? No…and I hope I never have to" he answered

That's great now I have to go back to the café, not that I want to. His a pain in the back and he'll tell anyone to look at the club, bet he told that guy who took off on his bike the same story. "Thank anyways." I sighed and looked at the papers. "Do you have any foreign language newspapers? The London Times?"

"As Chance would have it, I do" he said and picked it out from under some papers.

"Do you do barter?" I asked.

"Sorry, cash only" he answered. I searched my pockets and found loss notes, I handed it him and took the paper.

""Do you want change?" he asked

"Keep it" I said.

"Merci" he answered, I nodded and walked on, back to the café. Maybe I'll have a coffee before giving back his little box.

Kurtis POV

I entered my room in the hotel, thinking back to Miss Croft. Maybe driving off wasn't a good idea but I look all most like my brother and if she starts asking about him, I'm screwed. I opened the door to the balcony and stepped out and look over the Parisian Ghetto's. I'm so glad I took a hotel near the damn place, I thought. As I looked I saw a new Vendor but something about the guy was strange but I left it there when I saw her walking up to him. Great she's not given up yet on this. With my hearing ability, I listen in on her conversation, she was again asking about Bouchard. She's really not giving up, this is fantastic but I'm may have some fun out of this mission. I smirked and then I read her thoughts, she didn't trust that Pierre guy but who could blame her, he was a loser. Then I saw the Vendor's had, it had the symbol it, the Nephilim symbol. Shit, it's Karel, I run out of the room, not brothering to lock it and out to my bike.

Lara POV

I sat down and order a coffee; he looked at me with nerves. He really wanted this box. What was in it that made him like that. Oh well, my coffee came and I sipped at as I read the paper. Not what I wanted to read: PARISIAN 'MONSTRUM' KILLINGS CONTINUE. LARA CROFT WANTED FOR QUESTIONING.

I left the paper after reading the article. Hate them; I've never in a million years killed someone out of anger, only the people trying to kill me. I never killed Werner and walking into the police station without evidence was as good as being sent to jail after I walk in. No thanks, I'll first find this Eckhardt guy and clear my name. I sighed and got up from the table after drinking my coffee. I walked up to Pierre and we started talking again.

Kurtis POV

When I arrived at the corner where the Vendor was, it's was clean. No one sat there with papers, he just left. Typical Karel, he was checking her out. He's planning something and it has something to do with Miss Croft. Now I have to be a stalker and follow her everywhere, if that's what it takes to keep the women I love…Wow did I just that. I meant to say the woman that's my brother's friend alive. Kurtis, don't go soft now, I told myself and drove off, trying to find her. Then I saw her walking out of that café again. That's great; she was there again, maybe to give Pierre that box. Let's hear what she's thinking, I told myself. I read her mind, something about going to the graveyard but needs to go to apartment to find Pierre's ex. That's great. Well, I'll just fellow her but I need to hide my bike.

William POV

I arrived in Cappadocia just now and I'm heading to the dig site now. I need to find a women called Chantell to get to the last sleeper and protect it. If Kurtis failed then I'm gonna be screwed if Karel or Eckhardt hears about this sleeper. But I know my little brother, he would never fail, father was to tough on him to let him fail in anything. So he won't fail, I know it.

My ride had arrived and I climbed in, the drive took me to Chantell's house. She at least knew Kurtis so it would be easy but I'd be making sure if it is her or I'm gonna piss myself if it's Karel whose shape shifting into people again.
