They Come at Night Part 1

It was late that night when it happened, a dark and cold one from what the paper had said. Rosy was only eight when it happened on that dark night and I was fifteen when it happened. This is what happened when they came at night.

December 15th, 6:37 PM. Nome, Alaska

Thomas and his sister Rosy, were outside in the snow while their parents stayed inside with the dogs. "Let's build a snowman!" Rosy cheered while she had already started on the snowman. Thomas chuckled as he started to help her. "Alright but no singing that song from frozen," Thomas said while making the base of the snowman. Rosy laughed while she started to make the middle of the snowman. Not long later after building the snowman, Thomas and Rosy took a step back and looked at the snowman. "I think should name him Charlie," Rosy said with a smile while putting her hands in her pockets. "Charlie huh?" Thomas said as he looked to his sister. Rosy looked up to her brother and smile. "What's wrong with the name?" Rosy asked. "Nothing," Thomas said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Kids! Time to come inside!" Their mother called to them from the front door. "Okay!" Thomas replied to his mother. "Come on I'll race ya!" Thomas said as he lightly pushed Rosy to the ground. "Hey! No fair!" Rosy shouted as she chased after brother. Now inside the warm house, Thomas and Rosy both take off their snow clothes and put on something light to wear around the house. Rosy played in the living room with her dog Jenna, while Thomas helped his father in the kitchen to make dinner. "Dinners going to be ready soon sweetheart," Rosy's mother said as she walked into the living room. "Okay mommy," Rosy said as she stood up and walked over to the bathroom. Rosy washed her hands for dinner before looking out the bathroom window. Rosy gasped seeing that her snowman had moved from the front lawn to the side of the house next to the bathroom window.

Rosy then runs out of the bathroom and bumps into her brother and falls to the ground. "Whoa, didn't know you were that hungry," Thomas said with a laugh. "The snowman we made… it moved!" Rosy said scared. "Right… come on dinners ready," Thomas said as he helped his sister up. "No! It did! I'll show you," Rosy said as she pulled her brother into the bathroom. "See!" Rosy said while pointing out the window. Thomas rolled his eyes as he looked out the window. "I don't see anything," Thomas said while looking out the window. "What?" Rosy said as she looked out the window. The snowman was gone and nowhere in sight. "How?" Rosy asked still looking for the snowman. "Come on," Thomas said as he picked up Rosy and carried her over his shoulder.

"But he was there I swear!" Rosy said as she was being carried away to the kitchen. "Maybe it was Balto you saw," Thomas said as he places her down on the kitchen floor. "I think I know what our dog looks like and what a snowman looks like," Rosy protested. "Then maybe you're crazy," Thomas said as he places down some plates at the table. Rosy crossed her arms and frowned. "I am not!" Rosy said before sitting down in her spot of the table. Thomas chuckled as he sits down at his spot. While eating dinner, Rosy pushes her food around while still taking a few bites at a time. "What's the matter Rosy?" Her mother asked.

"Nothing, I'm just not that hungry," Rosy replied. "She said our Snowman moved from the front yard to the back by the bathroom window, Thomas added. "It did!" Rosy shot at her brother. "Rosy, we told you no more wild stories," their father spoke up. Rosy looked at both of her parents and then sighed. "Can I be excused please?" Rosy asked. Both her mother and father looked at each other before nodding. Rosy leaves the table and walks to her room. Rosy opens the door to her room and screams.

Both of her parents and Thomas all rushed to her room. Once they reached her room, they all saw something disturbing. A snowman was in the middle of the room with an angry look on its face with the window wide open. "Thomas!" His mother said with anger. "What? I didn't do this," Thomas pleaded. "Go to your room," His father ordered. Thomas sighed before leaving the room. Rosy was then taking out of her room by her mother while their father cleaned up the snowman.
