xxx Time Skip (Jake's p.o.v.)

It's been 3 weeks since I found out I'm pregnant. I'm still surprised, but getting used to the idea of having a family of my own with Edward.

I went downstairs and saw my mate reading a book on the sofa. I went up behind him and hugged him.

"Hey, how'd you sleep?" he asked me.

"Good." I replied.

"That's good" he said.

I went to sit on his lap and started kissing him. We sat there making out until Emmett and Rosalie told us to get a room.

"What we do is none of your business" we both said at the same time.

"Well… that is just creepy. You guys are now in sync when talking" Emmett said.

"Jake, make sure you don't forget that you have an ultrasound today" Carlisle said while walking down the stairs.

"Okay. Is dad still here?" I asked.

"He's coming by later today, bringing more of your belongings over. He also decided to stay here. He doesn't want to stay in the reservation with a leader and other pack members who won't accept his son" Carlisle replied back.

I looked away. Edward came up to me and asked what was wrong.

"I just hate that some members of my pack didn't accept you as my mate. It's not like I have control of who I imprint on" I said.

"It's okay Jake. Are you worried that they might come back and hurt you?" Ed asked me.

"Yeah" I answered.

"I won't let them. They'll have to get through me to get to you" he said, pulling me into an embrace.

I sighed and just put it off for now, sinking into the embrace.

xxx (Carlisle's p.o.v.)

Later in the afternoon I followed Carlisle into the makeshift infirmary he had. Billy and Edward right behind us.

"Lie on the bed and pull up your shirt a little Jake. There's nothing to worry about, we're just going to do what was done last time" said Carlisle.

I did what he told me and waited. Billy held my right hand and Edward held my left. I squeezed both of their hands in anticipation.

I winced at the cold blue gel getting put onto my abdomen. Carlisle moved the probe around until he spotted the baby. I stared at the screen, since I wasn't that far along the baby still looked like a tiny blob, but it still amazed me. I smiled as I watched.

"How far along am I right now?" I asked.

"Based on this ultrasound, you are a month and half along" Carlisle answered.

I looked up at Ed's eyes; they were sparkling with happiness just like mine. Carlisle printed out a copy of the ultrasound and handed it to me. I got up and wiped the gel off. All my worries about the pregnancy and the pack left me after I saw my baby.

xxx (Jake's p.o.v.)

"Edward and I walked back upstairs to show the others the ultrasound picture, knowing they were also anxious. I saw Seth, Leah and Quil in the living room as well.

"Hey Quil" I said.

"Hey dude, how are you doing?" Quil asked.

"I'm good. How are you?" I asked back.

"I'm alright. I just had to get away from the pack and I missed you. It's not the same without you around. The pack became crazy. Everyone is angry that you imprinted on a vampire, including Embry." he answered.

"It's not like my relationship affects them in any way! I'm glad that you, Billy, Seth and Leah are on my side at least. I thought Embry was my friend, but I guess not."

"So what's going on here?" Quil asked.

"I remembered then that none of the other pack members knew I'm pregnant"

"Well… Quil, you missed a lot. After Sam kicked me off the reservation I shifted and ran through the woods. I was angry at the pack and thought Billy was disappointed in me. I shifted back to my human form and ran to the Cullen's house since I could never go back to the reservation. But when I got there I was exhausted and passed out when Esme opened the door. I showed up freezing and had a high fever and was out for 2 days. I've been like that for a week, but even after I got better, I still threw up everything I ate. I thought I was coming down with the flu. Carlisle checked me over when it persisted. and that was the day I found out something that would change my life."

"What was it?" asked Quil.

"I found out that I'm pregnant" I answered.

Quil stared at me with his eyes wide like he didn't believe me, which I expected. I handed him the ultrasound picture and waited for him to respond.

"You're serious aren't you" he asked.

"Yes, I am."

"Is it okay if I check for myself, I still don't believe it" he asked.

"You can try, but I think it's still way too early to be able to hear a heartbeat."

Billy saw what was going on and sighed. Knowing that this would happen if any of the other pack members found out.

I asked Alice and Jasper to move off the sofa and I lied down on it. Quil coming toward me and putting his ear against my stomach. After a few seconds Quil looked up at me puzzled.

"Did you hear anything?" I asked.

"I heard a soft thumping sound" he answered.

"That is the baby's heartbeat. It's just too early to hear it on an ultrasound, but since werewolves have keen hearing, they can hear the heartbeat" Carlisle answered while walking into the room.

Seth and Leah also took turns listening and were in amazement. Quil looked at me with a smile on his face.

"So, my little buddy here is finally growing up and is going to be a mommy." said Quil.

"Don't call me mommy…" I glared.

"Choose whatever word you like, you're still the one giving birth" answered Quil.

"Well he's got you there Jake. You are the woman and the mom in the relationship" said Emmett.

"That's it!" I walked into the kitchen and grabbed Esme's frying pan, chasing after Emmett and Quil with it, succeeding in hitting them both in the head.

I went back upstairs whistling, satisfied. All the other boys sweat dropped.

"You both did deserve that" Alice and Rosalie both said to Emmett and Quil. Edward went after Jake sighing.

Esme came out looking for her frying pan. Everyone laughed at what happened.
