Chapter 9: Puzzle Piece

The Arendelle group walked into the temple to find the walls decorated by Hieroglyphics and images of ancient events and predictions of Egyptian culture. Lilly was amazed at the amazing architecture of the ancient civilisation. Anna was the first to notice something... Out of the ordinary. On a pillar on the right side of the room, there was a picture. In the picture, there was some figures. These figures were of a cat, a man, a flame humanoid, an ice humanoid missing their arm, creature that resembled a reindeer, a time glass, a black creature with wings, a young girl, a woman in warrior clothing, a pharoh with a flame in his hand and a creature of light holding something.

"Cleo, can you tell me what this is" Anna called, earning the attention of everybody.

"What is it Anna" Cleo asked before noticing the picture. "Okay... Creeped out."

"What is it ladies" The Cat asked as he too saw the picture. "It's us."

"How can you tell" Anna asked.

"Think about it. There is a cat, which would represent a cat person. So me. A pharoh with a flame. A pharoh being an Egyptian king or queen, it might suggest a king that wields Fire. A time glass, most likely someone from a different time. Same goes to all the others, all representing a person in this room" The Cat explained.

"It makes sense" Cleo commented after a minute of thinking.

"But what of the light thing and what it is holding" Anna asked.

"A spirit giving the adventurers a piece of the puzzle" The Cat replied.

"Okay, now you are reading the Hieroglyphics" Cleo snapped.

"Please kill me" Ticf read aloud as he noticed the woman in warrior armour from the pillar picture being tortured by a sand monster and having the respective Hieroglyphics to spell out the plead.

"Ticf? What are you on about" Kristoff asked before everyone heard wind whipping at their ears and sand materialising into something in the centre of the back walk.

"The walls. They tell about our fate in this temple" The Cat called as he, Cleo and Ticf looked at each of the walls and pillars to find each of the figures from Anna's pillar being attacked by a sand monster.

"Let's just hope we survive" Anna mumbled as the sand monster from the pictures materialised.

The monster roared as it charged at Cleo, Anna and The Cat. All three were swept off their feet and began to get whipped by the the wind and sand the monster used to contain its shapeless body. Kristoff and Sven broth charged at the creature only to be caught by a limb like appendage from the monster.

"This isn't good" Lilly whispered as she watched the sand monster grab her friends and family and begin using the wind and sand that made it to attack them. She spied several appendages snaking their way towards her.

Before she could speak again, Lilly suffered from a behind attack. Everyone watched in horror as the young princess began to receive cuts from the sand and wind. Lolly was screaming in pain as the sand cut into her soft skin.

"That's... It" Anna screamed as she sent a wall of flames in every direction.

The princess turned the sand appendages holding her into fragile glass. In the rage she now felt, Anna shattered the glass and proceeded to burn the monster. Where the main body of the monster once held together, now was a hollow glass exoskeleton.

"Mum..?" Haley asked as she saw her mother breathing heavily and staring at the monster's remains.

"Oh no" Cleo exclaimed as she saw Anna in her state. "Be careful. Rage does pretty horrific things."

"What have I done" Anna whispered as she stared at her own hands before breaking down into a fit of sobs.

"Fuck me that was painful" Firl laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

"Shut up Firl" Kristoff snapped before walking over to his wife. "You okay?"

"Did you not see what I did" Anna replied with tear stained cheeks and red eyes as she looked up to meet eyes with her husband.

"Everybody... Look at the wall" Lilly pointed towards the back wall.

Everyone looked over to see a faint light being radiated from a crack in the wall. Lilly carefully made her way to the crack. Upon touching the wall, the wall crumbled to dust and all that was left was a black circular puzzle piece like piece of metal.

"Is that the part of the key we need" Anna asked.

"Yes. Yes it is" Cleo smiled before checking the outside world.

"What is it" Ticf asked as he saw a confused look on Cleo's face.

"It's day time. And from what I can tell, it has been a few days since we arrived because have a look outside" Cleo replied, beckoning everyone to follow her.

"Oh no" The Cat whispered as he felt something at his arm.

"What is it" Anna asked, noticing The Cat.

"Seems like we may have been caught in a time hole. Time feels the same to us but to the outside world, we are extremely slow" The Cat explained as he tasted the sand for some unknown reason.

"What are you doing" Ellen asked.

"The sand is tellingly how much time has passed. Which I regret to say, has been a hundred and fifty years. We need to find a way to get back" The Cat replied with a smirk.

"You're bullshitting right" Lilly asked.

"I wish I was" The Cat informed with regret in his voice.

"Can't we just, you know, contact Xayo" Anna suggested.

"I'm afraid that we must not have been stuck in a time hole for Xayo to even sense us. To him, we are still in the nineteenth century. Sorry" The Cat replied.

"Time portals would work" Ticf suggested.

"Like it did for Julia and her two friends. Good idea Ticf" Lilly grinned.

"So, how do we find one" Kristoff asked.

"There is always one in every country. So that means we find the Egyptian one. Hopefully it isn't far" Ticf replied.

"Let's move" Lilly commanded.
