This is an Ita/Saku. Sasuke is NOT the enemy in this fic. He doesn't even hate the idea of his brother and his teammate together!

Chapter Ten: Boredom Does Funny Things

Sakura sighed as Naruto appeared in her hospital room. "What?" She asked. "Aren't you bored sitting in this hospital room?" Naruto asked. "Not particularly. I still get to do my paperwork." Sakura replied. "Boring!" Naruto scoffed. Sakura rolled her eyes. "Itachi comes by and we play Shogi and Go." She said. "Boring-er!" Naruto scoffed again. "Just because you can't play either doesn't mean Sakura shares your opinion." Itachi said as he came in with the board for Shogi. Sakura chuckled and placed her paperwork to the side so that Itachi could set up the board.
Naruto waited for a few minutes then left because Sakura and Itachi were boring him. "Now that he's gone, let's talk seriously. How are you holding up?" Itachi asked. "It's touch and go sometimes. My chakra fluctuates and causes some pain sometimes but not as much since my chakra is slowly settling. Last night was the worst when Tsunade-shishou actually fixed it." Sakura replied. Itachi nodded. "I'm glad. When will you be released?" He asked. "Oh not for a few more days. Not with my chakra acting like this." Sakura replied with a soft laugh. Itachi nodded. "I see." He said. "Tsunade-shishou was going to let me go this morning but when I told her that my chakra was acting up, she told me I had to stay a few more days. I agreed because this isn't a normal thing." Sakura replied cheerfully.
"I guess we can have our next date here in the hospital with Tsunade-sama's permission of course." Itachi said after a few minutes. Sakura nodded and smiled. "It's my home turf so to speak." She agreed. Itachi smiled slightly. "Yes I suppose it is. And it's only fair since I took you to my home turf." He said. Sakura smiled sweetly. "I win. This time." She said. Itachi looked down, eyes wide and laughed softly. "I believe you're right." He replied. Sakura grinned. "Ah but of course. And I may well beat you again tomorrow too." She said. "Perhaps." Itachi allowed.
"As long as you don't disturb her from resting if she gets tired and you quit sneaking around where you're not supposed to be, I'll allow you your date." Tsunade announced from the door. Sakura laughed as Itachi's eyes widened a little. "Yeah. I knew you snuck into my office right after those brats on her team did. I thank you at least for being silent. I've still got to punch Naruto in the head for being annoying." Tsunade said with a good-natured glare toward her student. Sakura smiled. "It wasn't my fault. They do what they want no matter what I say." She protested. Itachi chuckled. "I'll go ahead and take my leave since I have been soundly defeated by Sakura. I'll return tomorrow night. How does that sound?" He said. "Sounds good. I'll have Shizune bring Sakura some real food instead of the hospital food she usually has to eat." Tsunade replied. "Thank you Tsunade-shishou. I'm so ready to get out of the hospital so I can go back to my job instead of lying here like an invalid." Sakura said thankfully.
Tsunade and Itachi laughed, one lightly and the other heartily.
