Part of Me-10

Jonas shut the door to his locker, he couldn't understand why, but he felt off. His senses seamed way out of control honing in and out like the frequency on a radio trying to find a channel. The gate klaxon seamed louder than normal. Perhaps, he was over worked or stressed. Sighing, he pried himself from the door looking at his watch he realized he was behind schedule. Reaching over to grab his hat. He made his way to the gate room, rounding several corners he caught up with Teal'c who in turn acknowledged him.

"Good, Morning Jonas Quinn."

Jonas simply placed his hat on,walking beside the jaffa. Teal'c titled his head at the lack of response opening his mouth to ask to why he didn't respond when Jack and Sam joined them.

"Alright, lets get this joint rolling." Jack announced as he lead the way into the gate room.

The gate ceremoniously burst forth relaxing into the shimmering pool the wormhole held. The intercom sounded causing Jonas to wince as Hammond spoke over.

"Sg-1 good luck and safe returns."

Jack turned saluting up to the com room. He then looked to his team before they moved up the ramp and stepped through the gate. Emerging on the other side they couldn't help but noticed the serene field and forest before them.

"Huh, so far so good." Jack stated as they continued onward.

Sam smiled. "Sir, these people don't seem to be the aggressive type after all it is a simple recon mission."

Jack scanned around him with his eyes. "You never no Carter. Could be gigantic earthworms coming for us with each vibration of our feet. You know like the movie."

"Tremors." Sam answered. "We would no where to meet them when we see a village surrounded by mountains in the back.

Jack smiled in amusement. "Really, you've watched it?"

Sam rolled her eyes. "More like heard through word of mouth."

"It's bacon isn't it? You can't stand him."

"Sure, I'll go with that."

Teal'c slightly raised an eye brow. At the conversation.

"Surely, not a movie to miss." Jack answered, He paused. "You two aliens alive back there?"

"Indeed we are O'Neil." Teal'c answered as Jonas managed a audible yawn.

Sam let Teal'c join Jack ahead of her as she stepped beside Jonas.

"Didn't sleep?"

Jonas shook his head. "No, just restless, nothing I can't handle."

Sam laid a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Hey, soon enough we will be immersed in a new culture and civilization. That should peak both our interest in no time flat."

Jonas smiled. "Yeah, for sure."

)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Jonas tried to ignore his symptoms, by the time he had sat down at the table he felt like he was trudging through mud. He knew conversation was happening around him, but for the first time he was not able to concentrate. He did manage to answer Teal'c as it did not go unnoticed by his friend. Then feeling of his senses being amplified over took him, it was brief moment but it caused him desperately clutch to his consciousness. Perhaps, he was coming down with something..what did earth call it...a cold? Flu? He sat in numbness listening to the words being spoken, then it happened the moment that tipped him over the edge. He had to get up and clear his head. Jack said his name and he answered the only feeling he felt.

"Need air."

Then he blacked out before he even hit the ground.

Alarm rippled through the small area as both guest and host rose from the table, Sam had reached his side in milliseconds as Elori worriedly looked on.

"Is he alright?"

Jack looked to the older man. "He's fine... He turned back to Sam. "Carter?"

Sam glanced quickly to Jack. "I'm not sure sir." she turned her attention back to Jonas.

"Perhaps, we find a means to revive him. We have healing herbs to do with such ailments."

Just then Jonas stirred. Groaning he flinched slightly before his eyes rested on the worried face of Sam. He then became aware of the earth beneath him along with the many eyes on him.

Wincing he went to sit up. "Sam.."

Sam helped him to stay upright. He frowned, bringing his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose. He then shook his head trying to rid the dullness that hung over him.

"What happened?"

"Passed out. Can you stand?" Sam asked, when she received no answer she looked to Jack. "Sir, I think it best we head back."

Jack nodded in agreement. "Right, Teal'c help get him to his feet."

"Are you sure there is nothing we can do?" Elori asked as he watched Teal'c and Sam steady Jonas on his feet.

"Thanks, but we have...medicine that is better equipped to treat him. Besides, we will share the information we have learned from you with our superiors. We will let you know our decision promise." He waved is hand slightly over the table. "Thanks, once again for the...meal."

By the time they made it to the gate Jonas had regained some of his strength. Jack didn't want to show it but he was definitely concerned for his teammate. Sam shared a worried glance with her leader as they waited the final symbols to dial in. The event horizon burst forth before settling into place.

Sam and Teal'c ushered Jonas through the gate followed by Jack. Hammond was there to greet them alarmed as Jonas barely stood in his spot. The med team entered the gate room taking over where Sam and Teal'c was. Hammond watched as they left the room before looking toward the off-world team for answers.

"Sg1- what happened?"

Sam came down the ramp to answer. "He collapsed sir."

"Do you know what from?"

"Not sure...to be honest he seemed off this morning. Not his usual enthusiastic self." Jack replied.

"I too noticed the unusual behavior." Teal'c added.

Hammond frowned at the news. "I see."

Sam turned to Jack. "Sir. If you don't mind I'd like to go to the infirmary."

Jack nodded his approval then looked to Hammond.

"Sir, we have somethings to brief on. Sounds like we have some folks that could use are help..."

))))))

"Alright, Jonas we're done."

Jonas felt the table slide forward freeing him from the constricting area of the medical device. He sat up as Janet came beside him as he sat up.

"These MRIs are not my most favorite experience."

Janet smirked. "You would not be the first, I wouldn't have done this test if it weren't..."

"The naquadria I understand." Jonas finished.

Janet placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It's only a precaution."

"Dr. Fraiser, here you go." a nurse said earning a concerned look from Janet.

Jonas watched as Janet furrowed her brow slightly. The slight way she bit the inside of her cheek as she took in the results of the scan. Normally it wouldn't take this quickly to get any definate result. Janet turned to the nurse.

"Page General Hammond to the infirmary."

Jonas shifted slightly in his spot. Eying Janet closely. "Janet."

Janet was surprised slightly for she had never heard Jonas address her by her first name. She gave a reassuring smile.

"It's alright Jonas as soon as the General gets here I'll explain it all."

)))))))

Jonas had tried to chalk up everything do to lack of food, but x-rays don't lie. He had received a EKG an EEG and so far he managed to cope with it fine. He buttoned up the front of his shirt, maybe him concentrating on the briefing would bring him some peace in all of this mess. He closed his dresser drawer, as he went to turn he gasped out nearly falling into the bed beside him clutching the front of head as the jolting pain shot through him. Causing a flare of lights to come into his vision he blinked sinking down on the bed as he breathed in and out the pain subsided a knock on his door brought him into reality.

"W-Who is it?"

"It's Sam. Can I come in?"

Jonas calmed himself getting up from the bed he answered. "Yeah, it's open."

Sam stepped into the room. She smiled. "Briefing is in ten minutes thought I'd let you know...and just to see how you are holding up."

Jonas shrugged. "I'm.. I'm ok"

Sam nodded. "Want to talk about it, I heard about your MRI results."

Jonas shook his head as he led the way out the door. "No, I think if I focus on something from the mission I won't worry so much."

"Fair enough." Then she couldn't help but chuckle Jonas to look at her quizzically.

"What's so funny?"

Sam fell into step beside him. "Thinking that you are truly an SG-1 member. We all would do exactly that. Keep busy until we are forced to deal with our problems."

"Oh, I see. So do you think we can help Elori and his people?"

Sam nodded. "I sure hope so, we'll see what the general says and no doubt come up with a plan."
