Chapter 9: Usagi is Frantic! Ami's First Date

"It's a nice and quiet place." Rei mused, Ami having brought her and Usagi to the park.

"Perfect for a date." Usagi agreed.

"So, do you like it?" Ami smiled.

"I'm a bit surprised you know a place like this." Rei admitted.

"Really?" Ami wondered. "I always come here to read when I don't have cram school. Kunitachi-san." She greeted the gardener.

"So you take care of this big park all by yourself?" Usagi gashed.

"That will be coming to an end soon." Kunitachi sighed. "The land owner sold this park and it's apparently being turned into a business district."

"I had no idea." Ami breathed.

"When this park is gone, the birds and animals will have nowhere to go." Kunitachi lamented. "It's troubling."

"And it's such a nice park, too." Usagi sighed.

"Hey, it's you, Chiba." Motoki greeted his schoolmate, having heard the commotion outside the Game Center.

"Yo, Motoki." Mamoru nodded.

"Motoki, you know him?" Usagi wondered.

"The three of us go to the same college." Tsuyoshi supplied.

"You're…" Usagi gaped. "A college student?"

"Are you sure it's okay to waste so much money?" Tsuyoshi wondered outloud as Usagi fed another 100 yen coin into the game as Rei fished for more information about Mamoru from Motoki.

"This'll be the last time!" Usagi swore.

"That's what you said the last seven times." Tsuyoshi muttered. "By the way, Mizuno…" He turned to the water Senshi.

"What the hell is she doing?" Usagi exclaimed, seeing Tsuyoshi meet up with Ami after school the next day. "He's a college student and he's walking arm-in-arm with Ami! That should be me! We're following them."

"Sheesh, she's just jealous, plain and simple." Luna sighed.

"I wonder what they're talking about." Usagi wondered, spying on the pair outside the café. "I wish I could go in."

"It's your fault for spending all your money on ice cream." Luna reminded.

"I know." Usagi beamed, pulling out the Disguise Pen. "I'll transform into a waitress and…"

"Usagi." Umino voiced. "What are you doing?"

"Umino…" Usagi muttered. "Umino, do you have any money on you?"

"Yes, I do." Umino nodded.

"Then how about going on a date with me right now?" Usagi suggested.

"What's wrong?" Tsuyoshi looked up from his cup, noticing his partner's distressed expression. "You don't look too cheerful."

"Well…" Ami started.

"The caretaker of this park?" Tsuyoshi echoed, accompanying Ami to the park after she related her concerns.

"He was the same until yesterday, but…" Ami sighed, recalling how Kunitachi brushed her off. "I wonder what happened to him. What's going on?" she gasped, seeing a council representative being attacked by possessed squirrels.

"Then Kunitachi-san could also be…" Tsuyoshi realized.

"Usagi!" Ami called, spotting Usagi running out of the bushes. "Something terrible is going on in this park right now.

"You guys again." Kunitachi snapped. "Foolish humans. You people forgot the boon that nature provided you with, and the only way you can atone for it is with your deaths."

"All animals in this park, massacre the humans!" Petasos ordered, emerging from Kunitachi's hat and draining the caretaker of his energy.

"Mercury Power, Make Up!" Ami transformed.

"Moon Prism Power, Make Up!" Usagi took her cue. "What are these?" Sailor Moon demanded, as the summoned butterflies attacked the two Senshi.

"Help me!" Luna wailed, struggling against the squirrels.

"Shabon Spray!" Mercury let loose her fog. "The animals have been weakened." She glared at the youma. "Prepare yourself."

"Then I will use this… Hand Flower!" Petasos released a ball of vines towards Sailor Moon, entangling the Moon Senshi. "Petasos Rope!" she extended her hair, trapping Mercury. "I will squeeze you to death first."

"Fire Soul!" Mars' fireball broke the two Senshi free.

"Fine then, I'll take care of all three of you together." Petasos sneered when a rose distracted her.

"Tuxedo Kamen!" Sailor Moon beamed.

"Flare Arrow!" Anubis rained his fire arrows at the youma.

"Hyperborean Frost!" Mercury's anger allowed her to use a more powerful attack as a pillar of ice erupted from underneath Petasos' feet and taking out the flora youma.
