Chapter edited
Jackie's P.O.V
Okay, I was officially lost. White had told me that I would find Alana's room near the bathroom in the living quarters; where Black lives. However, even though I've been to the prison many times since meeting Joker, I've only been to its living quarters a couple times. Most of those times were when I got trapped at the circus during a time period, like now. Normally, White gives me a room at the circus but allows me to use the prison bathroom whenever I need it. So, especially with the many twists, turns and halls the prison has, it can be hard remembering the way there.
"Alana?" I called as I walked down a empty cell block. I think it looked familiar so hopefully she was able to hear me calling out to her.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" An angry voice snarled as Black rounded a corner, glaring at me. His glare didn't faze me at all and, after staring at him for a moment, I smiled.
"I'm here to see Alana. That is unless you have some locks you want me to test." I told him with a grin, which made his glare deepen. To be honest, as much fun as it is to see his reactions when I break out of his cells, I was actually appalled when I first came to the prison and found most of the locks rusting off the bars. For a jailer, he sure took cruddy care of the place.
"Forget the fucking locks! It's your god damned fault my Alana wants to leave!" He snapped, his whip clenched in his hand. Hold on a second, did he just say what I think he said?
Did he really just call Alana his? Does Black honestly have feelings for her or is he just being possessive? When I first found Alana neither Joker wanted me to let her out of her cell and Alana herself mentioned she isn't allowed to venture very far. I suppose it's possible that Black has feelings for her and it might explain as to why Alana doesn't want to leave. After all, I do feel there is something she didn't tell me and it wouldn't be the first time I've heard about a prisoner falling in love with their capture.
Back in my world, about a month or so before I came to Wonderland, I watched a news report for one of my classes in school. It was about this ten year old girl who had been kidnapped by her father's apparent best friend. She was found six years later, tucked away in a hidden room in a farmhouse. When police questioned her she claimed she and her capture were in love, even though he clearly mentally and physically abused her; both sexually and non-sexually. The police ruled it as brainwashing. Perhaps that is what happened to Alana as well.
I was suddenly jolted out of my thoughts as I heard a loud whacking sound next to my head. Blinking in surprise I focused on the source of the noise. Pressed against the wall, just inches from my head, was one end of Black's whip. The other end was held in his hand as his one red eye stared at me threateningly. His cheeks, however, held the slightest touch of red to them. Huh? Was he actually blushing?
"One word out of you and I'll make sure you'll suffer greatly." He threatened, staring directly into my good eye with a crazed look. It only took me a moment to realize he was talking about what he said a moment ago and I nodded in agreement.
"It's none of my business." I agreed and slipped past him. I'm not sure what kind of suffering he'd cause me but, after hearing what they did to Alana, I rather not push my luck with him; especially when he's in a bad mood.
Black's P.O.V
I glared at Jackie as she walked away from me, apparently determined to find Alana on her own now. Dumb bitch didn't even realize she was about to go the wrong way. Tch, I guess I had no choice but to take her to Alana. Since the time period changed to night she wouldn't be going anywhere right now anyways. Or any time if I have anything to do with it; which I will.
"You're going the wrong way, idiot. It's this way." I tell her as I walk over to Jackie, grabbed her arm and spun her in the correct direction. She flinched in my grip and I pulled away before she could flip me or kick me again.
Jackie didn't respond and if she did I didn't hear her. So, even though I much rather lock her in one of the cells, I stepped in front of her to lead the way to Alana's room. Of course I knew I'd probably just be wasting my time if I did try to lock her up since the bitch always finds a way to pick the lock open. However, there are a few new locks that I wouldn't mind testing on her. After all it'd be a pain in the ass if she continued picking the locks even after she became the star.
"Since it's night you will be staying if you like it or not." I grunt as we enter my living quarters. I heard Jackie hum in acknowledgment but said nothing else as we walked towards Alana's room.
The living quarters consisted of mainly six rooms. Besides my bedroom and the bathroom I share with my idiot counterpart there is also a kitchen, Alana's room and two storage rooms. One of the storage rooms holds the clocks of the inmates that die or are killed in the prison. The other room stores things such as extra prison suits, masks, chains, shackles and other useless junk. The other rooms are used for whatever I needed them for; including interrogation.
While the living quarters weren't exactly blocked off from the rest of the prison I knew the inmates wouldn't dare come here. They might be rule breakers but even I don't think they'd be stupid enough to enter a place where certain death would meet them. Then again nothing these rule breakers do really surprise me and Joker does have a lot of enemies; some of which are locked up. Eh, but if they want to be dumb enough to come here if they manage to escape I'll let them; I can always use an excuse to let off steam.
Joker, we have a bit of a problem. You may want to be here in person for this
I heard the voice of my counterpart tell me through my thoughts. I could already feel his annoyance but I couldn't tell at what. It must be something important if it's making him all upset. There weren't a lot of things that normally really bothered the clown so I was curious to why he could be so upset now. Well, whatever, I'll go see what that idiot wants once I get Jackie to Alana; which wouldn't take long since I was already here.
"This is the damned room. I need to go but I'll be back later, so I suggest you watch yours." I warned her threateningly, leaning forward and stared into her green eye with my one eye visible eye. Once I got my answer I stood back up, turned around and stomped away to see exactly what the damned clown wanted me to see.
Jackie's P.O.V
Well he's clearly in a better mood than I would have thought he'd be. Even though he threatened me a couple of times he didn't try to lock me up once since I've been here. He didn't even call me any rude names and he even brought me to Alana's room even though he says it's my fault she wants to leave. However, I still know better than to push my luck around him because, with a man like him, things can get worse within seconds. Whatever, I can worry about that later. Right now I should really check on Alana, see if she's okay and ready to leave soon.
