OK Im am sooooo sorry it has taken me so long to upload the next chapter! Anyway it's here so enjoy!
Chapter 10
Steve slept soundly for the next 26 hours or so without even waking once. Chin and Kono were in a dilemma, they didn't know what to believe, when Steve had blurted out about Gracie moving to London they didn't know if it was just a Seal filled with sedatives and other medications or if what he said was actually legit. They both decided it was best to tell Danny just to be on the safe side.
So while Gracie was at therapy and Danny was visiting Steve, Chin and Kono decided it was time to tell Danny the potentially heartbreaking news.
"Im gonna go to the canteen ye guys want something?" Danny asked kindly
"Hey Danny uhm we need to talk buddy.." Chin said redirecting Danny to the nearby chair
"Okaaay?" Danny said suspiciously "What's up.." He said rubbing his two hands together as he settled down in the uncomfortable chair next to Steve's bed
"It's about Grace.." Kono said
A look of pure concern spread across Danny's face, he had even gotten more protective of Grace since her mother passing so he listened intently
"What about Grace?" Danny looked between the two cousins
Chin and Kono both shared a dreaded look of fear as they decided silently which one of them would deliver the heartbreaking blow
"Chin?" Danny snapped the duo out of their horrible trance
"When Steve woke up this morning, he sad something to me and Kono and it concerned both of us.." Chin said
"What has Steve got to do with this?" Danny asked arms flailing as he looked at the sleeping SEAL
"It might just have been the meds talking but he said something about Grace moving to London.." Chin and Kono saw the look of shock and fear spread across Danny's face. He knew exactly what Steve was trying to say, Grace was planning on moving to London and that only meant one thing; Carla was still planning on kidnapping his daughter and bringing her half the way across the world! How could she! After all they had been through! He felt betrayed! Not by Grace but by the evil, manipulating Carla who he knew had brainwashed Grace in going to London with her. He felt physically sick.
"Steve! Steve wake up buddy, wake up!" Danny said shaking Steve's shoulder. He knew Steve knew something that he didn't and he had to find out what.
"Danny I don't thin that's a great idea, Steve needs his rest.." Kono said resting a hand on Danny's shoulder
"If Carla is planning on taking Grace to London with her then I need to know more!" Danny shouted gaining the attention of passing medical professionals who raised an eyebrowwith how aggressive and agitated Danny looked.
Chin just smiled and slowly closed the door fully so they could all have some privacy. After a tedious and nerve- wracking 4 minutes Stve efinally started to wake up. Danny was straight in there with a barrage of questions.
"D'nny?" Steve mumbled sleepily
"Steve, what did Grace say to you buddy?" Danny asked
"Grace?" Steve said still not fully awake
"Yeah..." Danny said impatiently
Steve looked confused which frustrated Danny as he paced the room angrily
"London?" Steve blurted out which immediately caught Danny's attention
"Yeah! Yeah buddy what she say about London?" Danny asked urgently
"She's moving there..." Danny knew. He was in trouble
"With who? Do you know who?" Danny asked for conformation
Steve nodded, he was tired and confused so Danny let him drift back to sleep.
Danny knew, it was his job to protect Grace from now on and nobody was going to hurt or take Grace away from him! He's after loosing to much as it is! So without giving Chin or Kono a chance to speak he ran back out of the room going to get Grace out of counselling early just this once so they can discuss it, obviously Grace was hiding a huge secret from Danny.
He ran towards the children's ward, and turned the corner towards the counselling office. He was suprised to see Grace's therapist walking and working freely around the reception area when she was supposed to be in with Grace. Oh no! Danny thought Carla is one step ahead of him!
"Where's Grace?!" Danny asked panicked when he looked around not seeing Grace anywhere
"Mr. Williams? What are you doing here?" The therapist asked suprised to see Danny
"Where is Grace?" Danny asked this time more urgent
"Uhm..I wasn't expecting you, her Grand-mother, Carla I believe dropped by to pick her up...She is such a nice la-" The therapist was insulted as Danny literally turned around cursing and sprinted out the open doors.
He was soon in his Camaro speeding towards the Hilton, tears in his eyes as he hopped he wasn't too late.
"S'Danny OK?" Steve asked
"He's gonna be fine...One of us should probably go after him?" Chin said
"Make sure he's OK.." Kono said
"I'll go!" Chin said as he got up from his hard chair and went to the only logical place where Danny may have been, to the therapist's to talk to Grace
When he turned the corner he began to worry when he couldn't see Grace or Danny anywhere! He tried ringing Danny's cell but went straight onto voicemail. Where the hell was he?!
This can't be good he thought..
"C'mon Gracie hurry up we don't want to be late!" Carla called out as she packed up the last few items needed for the 2 hour flight to the mainland and another 8 hour flight to London. Her and Grace were going to be wrecked but it will all be worth it, she thought. Well hopefully, if things go to plan that is.
Grace and Danny were due to be checking out of the Hilton anyway later on tonight so it wasn't one bit suspicious for the hotel staff when the supposedly kind, caring grand-ma paid for the 14 day accomodation stay. The staff thought that Carla was only doing Danny a favour, little did they know she had something way more sinister in mind.
"Im ready.." Grace said panting as she dragged the overloaded suitcase into the lobby of the apartment
Carla walked over to Grace and gave her a huge kiss on the forehead "How did I get so lucky.." She said as Grace smiled delightfully looking up at Carla with big brown eyes
"You know Grace, I'll let you know a secret about me.." Carla said her attitude beginning to take a sinister turn
"Okay?" Grace said innocently
"I always get my own way.. " Carla said evilly as Grace looked up at her getting suspicious
Carla turned around to retrieve her suitcase when she heard Grace ask a very important question
"You did tell Danno didn't you?" Grace asked
Carla just looked at her and smiled evilly. Grace knew the answer
"Gran-ma! You have to tell Danno! I'm not going with you unless you tell Danno!" Grace said banging her suitcase on the ground
Grace was shocked and slightly scared as Carla suddenly confronted her, she came so close to her face that Grace could feel Carla's putrid breath against her skin, it made her skin crawl
"You're obviously not listening to me Gracie...I always get my own way.." Carla said sternly, gripping Grace's arm so tightly it was beginning to turn purple
"Gran, you're hurting me!" Grace grimaced frighteningly
Carla left Grace go roughly as Grace's body jerked away from evil Carla's grasp. And just like that Carla was back to being the sweet caring Grandmother that she always potrayed but Grace was left scared and frightened, Carla's attitude changed in a flash, she was not reliable or mentally stable. Grace thought she better go along with whatever Carla tells her to do, she was vulnerable and she didn't know what Carla was capable of, but she wanted her Danno and a silent tear slipped from her eyes when she realised how hurt Danny will be when he finds out she is gone and he can't do anything about it!
Carla was beginning to show her nasty dangerous side and Grace didn't like it, she realised she was in danger as she left the room.
Danny sped through traffic lights and stop signs to get his daughter back, he hopped he wasn't too late he couldn't live without Grace! He ignored the honking of car horns and the numerous tire skid sounds as he tried to reach his destination.
When he reached the Hilton he just hopped out of the car at the entrance annoying the oblivious car valet staff and ran into the Hilton. He pressed the button for the elevator but when that was taking too slow he decided to take the stairs, 10 flights of stairs wasn't going to be easy but he had to push himself to get Grace back. When he was on the 8th floor he heard a familiar voice around the corner on the next flight of stairs. It was Carla and she sounded angry.
"Grace you do what I tell you to do y'hear me?" Carla shouted at the top of her lungs
"I just want to have a rest, my arms are sore, my suitcase is very heavy.." Grace said obviously trying delay the process so someone, anyone could help her
"I am not going to repeat myself Grace, pick up your bag and let's go!" Carla said forcing the suitcase into Grace's weak arms
Grace dropped them again stubbornly "I changed my mind I don't want to go to London anymore!" Grace said
"What?" Carla said shocked
"I am not going anywhere! I want to stay here, in Hawaii!" Grace stood her ground as Danny was getting closer with each step
"you BRAT!" Carla shouted as she swung her arm unfortunately connecting with Grace's cheek. Grace gasped in pain and shock as she fell to the floor her hand against her bruised cheek in agony
"Get up!" Carla threatened
Grace just sat there in shock looking up at her Grandmother, she never ever knew that her grandmother could be so violent
Then came a kick "GET UP!" Grace screamed as tears streamed down her face
"GRACE!" Danny screamed hearing his daughter's scream, he was only 8 steps away from her
Carla panicked when she heard Danny's scream and caught a clump of Grace's long brown hair pulling her up from the ground. More tears streamed down Grace's face as she felt her hair being pulled forcing her upwards, then a feeling of relief washed over her when she saw Danny at the bottom of the flight of stairs. But it wasn't over yet!
"Leave her go Carla!" Danny said slowly reaching his way to the top of the 11 stepped stairs
Carla just had a look in her eyes, she looked like a physco, her eyes popping out of her head as she still gripped Grace's hair in her hand.
"She ..is coming to London...with me.." Carla said shakily. Danny was shocked, this women was not well she definately had a mental health issue that Danny or maybe even Rachel didn't know about.
"No..she's not. I will do anything in my power to stop you taking her away from me!" Danny said as he now stood next to them his hand extending to Grace
"Get away!" Carla said going up another 2 steps of the next flight of stairs
Danny knew he had to get Grace back so he went straight for it, he tackled Carla to the floor but Carla refused to let go of Grace's hair and they both flew to the floor, Grace screaming in pain. Danny had no choice but to knee her in the stomach which made her gasp in pain and release the firm grip she had on Grace's hair.
Danny and Grace tried to run, but Carla refused to let them go. A lengthy struggled persued , when suddenly all hell broke loose.
As Danny hit Carla across the face supposedly knocking her out he briefly turned his back towards her to check on Grace. That is when the demon pounced, she got up swiftly and with one strong push she sent Danny down a total of 10 steps. Grace screamed loudly it all happened in a matter of seconds.
Carla grabbed Grace and their suitcases and against Grace's will dragged her down the stairs.
"Dad! Dannooo!" Grace shouted as they both walked past his lifeless body at the end of the stairs. Grace could see a little but up blood seeping out from Danny's ear. But she had no choice but to leave with Carla, it's either that or die.
"Please let me check on dad! Please!" Grace shouted
"C'mon you brat!" Carla shouted drying her bloodied nose from the altercation
They made it roughly down to the lobby and a teary and emotional Grace was forced into the cab, against all of Grace's wishes and headed towards the airport.
She hopped and prayed that her father was OK, maybe at the airport she can finally escape, she needed to get away from such an evil women!
