Chapter 10: We Have Splashdown!
"Leave her alone, you jerks!" Black shouted out, catching the attention of the cat Pokémon Meowth.
"Well, well, look wot we have here, guys! The twerp's come around for a fight!" Meowth remarked towards the angry preteen Trainer.
"Just what is the deal with you guys?" Black demanded.
"Well, our ultimate plan is complete domination over all Pokémon and the world, so for now, we'll take any Pokémon we can get!" James explained.
"James! Don't go all blabbermouth to the twerp now; or he'll ruin our plans just like you-know-who did!" Jessie snarled as she smacked James with the back of her hand.
"Enough blabbing you two!" Meowth responded as he scratched them both, bringing their attention back to Black. "Just take the twerp down a peg!"
"We'll see about that. Go, Braviary!" Black called out as he sent out one of his most loyal Pokémon, the Valiant bald eagle Pokémon Braviary.
"Go, Woobat!" Jessie spoke as she sent out the bat Pokémon Woobat, which knocked over the Pokeball for the water monkey Pokémon Panpour, sending it rolling towards Black who picked it up and stored it on his side-belt with his other Pokemon.
"Brav, use Aerial Ace quick!" Black ordered as the eagle Pokémon swooped its wing down at Woobat, sending it slamming at the gate, knocking the power out of it, surprising the two Team Rocket members.
"Ugh, you little brat. You think it's over already?!" James groaned as Jessie sent Woobat back into its Pokeball so she could heal it back to full health. What nobody took into account is a young ebony-haired girl jumping out from the bushes with a tiny tusked dragon nestled in her hair popping out to attack.
"Wha-?" everyone gasped in disbelief, while Pikachu also snuck up beside Black from behind.
"Axew, use Razor Claw!" the girl said to her dragon, as it raised its tiny paw up and swiped it down at the trio of villains.
"Please tell me 'dis can't possibly get worse." Meowth murmured in pain, before Team Rocket noticed Pikachu amble forward and tense itself up to unleash a Thundershock.
"Oh no!" Jessie and James panicked as the tiny electric mouse zapped the criminals with enough force to send them soaring off.
"PIKA-CHUUUUUUUUUUU!"
When the smoke cleared, Black, the owner of the monkey Pokémon, and the dragon girl looked up to the sky seeing Team Rocket vanish with a glimmer of light and the cry of "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off againnnnnn!".
"T-thank you for saving me from those people." the Trainer issued towards Black, as he nervously fidgeted about while the new arrival on the scene was eyeing the preteen dreamily.
"It's no problem." Black blurted out before he turned towards the dragon trainer girl, who he recognized almost instantly. "Y-you're Iris, the apprentice of the Opelucid City leader Drayden!"
"Yep, although for now, I'd just like to be known as Iris the Dragon Trainer. What's your name, kid?" Iris responded.
"Er... I'm Black, from Nuvema Town. And I want to be a Pokémon Master." Black answered back as Pikachu climbed up on his shoulder. "And this my buddy Pikachu."
"No way!" Iris gushed as she snatched up Pikachu and snuggled it up in her arms, much to the rodent's displeasure. "How'd you ever find such a cute Pikachu in this part of Unova?"
"Well," Black laughed as he began to explain. "It was actually wandering around near my house years ago with its two Pichu kits and a group of other Pokémon, so me and my friends helped take care of them."
"Pika pika!" Pikachu yelped as it wriggled around in the girl's arms before Thundershocking her as the Axew that accompanied her leapt out to safety.
"MEEP!" Iris cried out before fainting as Pikachu shocked her into letting go of the electric mouse. "He packs quite the power..."
"Sorry!" Black apologized as he turned back to the other Trainer, holding the Pokeball that contained Panpour out to return it.
"You can keep that. I think you'll need it for the Gym." the Trainer responded as she bid the two Trainers farewell and they set back out to the Pokémon Center to heal up, and meet back up with White, Tep and Gigi.
