That night I was drawn towards the Ant Tunnel. First I had decided just to pass through the city to reach Perion before dawn, but the sauna there was tempting. So I stayed in Sleepywood for a while…then I felt it; an evil aura from Ant Tunnel. I was drawn towards it and senseless I walked deeper and deeper into the dangerous caves.
I felt how the echoes of my steps echoed between the walls. The absence of monsters was unusual. The smartest thing to do was to turn around and walk away. But I continued. This aura I could feel awoke something in me…an adventurous feeling.
Suddenly I heard other footsteps. There was someone else in here. I quickly hid behind a big boulder. I could not see who it was. As silently as I could I started sneaking after the person. That might have been a mistake.
After a short walk the person I followed stopped. I could still not see who it was, but I could see why the person had stopped. In the dark in front of the person two big red glowing eyes appeared. The enormous creature growled and the sound of it made the blood freeze in my veins. I was not able to move. I never knew that there was a creature this big on Victoria Island. Paralyzed by fear I saw how a big claw swing out from the dark towards the person I had followed. Then I passed out. It was too scary for me…
When I woke up again, I found myself in the sauna in Sleepywood. Maybe I slept here through the night? No, impossible. It had been too real to just be a dream. But to be honest, I secretly wished it was a dream. Later I found out it was not. The monster I saw that night was one of the toughest monsters on Victoria Island. It was none other than the fabled Balrog.
