The next morning Danny woke up early, took a quick shower, got dressed in her usual outfit, took a good breakfast and went to check on Dora. The ghost princess seemed to be sleeping on the lab table where Maddie and Jack left her, she looked so delicate, and so, so beaten. A black eye, swollen lips, a bandage on her head, a cast on her right arm, another one on her left leg and bandages over her chest and tummy. If it wasn't for Danny's ghost sense, she wouldn't have known that Dora was "alive" because no human can say that a ghost is breathing and there is no medical equipment capable to check on a ghost vital signs, that is, if a ghost has vital signs.
Danny sighed and took Dora's right hand in hers. -I'm sorry Dora, I'm going to help you, I promise. I'm going to find out what's going on and solve it. -Danny squeezed Dora's hand and for her surprise, Dora squeezed back, Danny gasped at that but suddenly some random images flooded her mind. They were about Dora's kingdom, it seemed a peaceful place, which lifestyle had improved greatly since Danny's last visit, it still looked like a medieval kingdom, but their technology was advancing, they had hospitals, factories, libraries, schools, coffee shops, women were allowed to work and study, it was no longer a men's privilege, you could see women reading, learning math, history, language, and other stuff, instead of just the proper behavior for a lady, they still had to learn that stuff, it was part of their society, and most women accepted it as part of their education.
Then it happened, a huge invasion army appeared on Aragon's kingdom skies, ships from different sizes were coming, and they just attacked, they attacked the whole kingdom without hesitation. The kingdom's army was prepared for any other ghost kingdom attack, but this army wasn't from another kingdom, they weren't even ghosts, neither humans, they were something else, something unidentified, the army did their best but they were no match for this enemy, in the end, they gave the kingdom's evacuation order, and the civilians were sent to other places in the ghost zone, Dora refused to leave until the last one of her subjects left, most of them women and kids. -Where are all the men? -She asked at one point.
-The men will stay. -Someone answered and she recognized the voice immediately, she turned around.
-Brother! -She looked sternly at him. -What are you doing here? -She asked him.
-My job! -He answered plainly, and he started to give orders to everyone but her. -Plan an escape route and get her to it. NOW! -He ordered to the soldier beside Dora and he just left.
-What are you doing?! You are no longer the king here! -Dora claimed him but he just ignored her.
-Get what we have left from the army and I want any man, young and kid, capable to fight get ready for a battle immediately. -He ordered to another soldier.
-Yes sir! -The soldier answered and left.
-What the hell do you think you are doing? -Dora asked him again.
-I already told you, I'm doing my job. -He answered calmly and sat on the king's chair.
-YOU ARE NOT THE KING ANYMORE! -Dora demanded, her dragon's eyes and fangs showing. But her brother didn't react, he just stayed there, looking straight at her with a blank expression.
The first soldier came back -An escape route has been planned sir. -
-Good. You, you, and you two. -he pointed at four men in the room. -Congratulations! You are now my sister's personal guards. Take her out of here now, even by force if needed, but get my little sister out of here. -he ordered and the four men went to Dora and picked her by her arms.
-What are you doing?! Let go of me, now! -She ordered them but they ignored her and took her to a door. -I won't leave without my subjects! I won't leave without the men! -
-I already told you Dora, men will stay. -
-Why? What's the purpose of that? -She asked him, struggling with the guards.
-To give you, and all women and children enough time to escape Dora, that's why. -
The other soldier came back. -Every man capable to fight was sent to the armory my lord. -
-Excellent! Bring my armor and blade, and get ready to defend the castle until the end.
-Yes, my lord! -The soldier answered and left again.
-No! No brother! You can't do this! You can't do this to me! -Dora exclaimed and struggled even more, but he didn't look at her.
-Keep your dragon's necklace with you Dora, it will help you to restore Aragon when the time comes. You'll be the best queen this kingdom will ever have. -He said simply.
Dora kept struggling but now she was crying because she understood what her brother was up to. The door was being closed behind her and she could hear "Sir! They're here!" and "PREPARE FOR THE DRANGON'S RAGE" she heard her brother's voice one last time.
The four soldiers took Dora out of the castle and were leaving the kingdom, she was crying her eyes out, behind them they heard a huge explosion, the castle itself was destroyed and the remains were burning.
-WE HAVE TO GO BACK! -She ordered them but again, they ignored her and kept flying away. -WHAT ARE YOU DOING? LET'S GO BACK NOW! -Ignored again. She looked at each one of her guards faces, and what she saw, made her breath leave her body. Each one of her guards were crying silently, not daring to look behind, they just kept flying away from Aragon, their home. At that moment, Dora surrendered, and left herself being taken away.
A few days later, Dora was hiding in Ember's lair, she and the rock star were friends and Dora learned a lot about modern music with Ember, she thought she could ask her to stay there for a while, but Ember wasn't there, the place seemed to be abandoned, Not even Skulker was there, and didn't showed up in the time they were there "maybe they are away, trying to have a baby, Ember's been up to that for a while now" Dora thought.
Someone knocked at the door. -Who is it? -She asked.
-It's me my lady, I've brought you your meal. -Dora opened the door and the guard got in with a tray of food for the princess. -Here you go my lady, call me when you're done and I'll retrieve the dishes. -The guard was about to leave.
-Wait! Please don't leave. Stay with me and tell what have you discovered so far. -She ordered him. The guard sighed and took a seat at a fair distance from the princess. -Well, what's going on? -she asked taking the mug and sipping the tea.
-We don't know much yet my lady. -He answered.
-But you already know something. -She stated.
-Very well then, they are called "The clusters", they are conquerors and have attacked many kingdoms in the ghost zone already, none of them have been capable to stop them, they're still advancing. -
-Are they humans? -She asked.
-No, they aren't humans, they are more like… like machines, living machines. -
-Do they have something to do with humans? -
-It doesn't seem so my lady, our sources say that they have plans to invade the human world too. -
-Have you heard from other Aragon survivors? -
-Just a few rumors my lady, but we've heard that many Aragon survivors are around there. -
-Excellent! Our kingdom is still alive. -She said happily and applauded a couple of times. -Do… do you know anything about my brother? -Dora gulped at that question and the guard kept silent, Dora gulped again. -S… so? -
-Sigh… he… your brother… he… -
-He what?! Please tell me. -Dora was crying already, because she already knew the answer.
-He died my lady. -The guard answered and Dora kept crying.
Then they heard an explosion nearby.
-STAY BACK MY LADY! -The guard told her and she hid behind Ember's bed, the guard took his blade and took a look through the window. A bunch of monsters were beating the crap out of the other guards.
-Where is she? -One of them asked to the guard he was holding.
-Who are you talking about? -The guard asked back bravely.
The monster didn't lose any more time, he just shot some kind of ray to the guard, making him disappear in the air, and went to another guard. -I'm talking about your princess Dora, she has the other dragon's necklace and we want it, where is she? -
-I don't know! We're just some survivors from Aragon who managed to escape the kingdom, we don't even know where are our families, I swear! -The guard said full of fear but keeping the façade. The monster shot him too.
-Last chance moron! WHERE IS SHE?! -he said aiming at the last guard straight on the face.
-FUCK YOU! -The guard answered smiling at him and showing him the middle finger, the monster shot him too.
-LOOK FOR HER! FIND HER! I WANT THAT NECKLACE NOW! -The monster ordered his companions and they split around the lair.
Dora was beyond terrified, she was there, trembling in her spot, the remaining guard didn't lose time, he went to her, took her by her hand and pulled her out of the room.
-You have to escape my lady, I'll take you out of here. -he told her and guided her out of Ember's house, they managed to avoid the intruders for a while but when they were about to leave the lair.
-THERE SHE IS! -They heard from behind and turned around, then a shot that was meant for her but her guard got in the way and got the shot in the stomach.
-You have to go my lady. -he told her with his hand on the wound. Their enemies were coming.
-No! I won't leave you! -
-Yes, you will! I will just delay you. Please my lady, just leave! I will give you time to escape. -
-No, please no! Not again! You are the only thing I have from Aragon now, please! -
The first enemy reached them and the guard managed to slay his throat with his blade.
-That's not true my lady. -Another enemy reached them and the guard pierced his stomach with his sword. -You still have the necklace. -he smiled at her. And Dora took the necklace in her hands and looked at it. -Keep it safe my lady, keep yourself safe, find some allies and save Aragon. -he said before pushing her out of the lair. Dora flew away from Ember's lair, again crying desperately, again not looking back, "FOR ARAGON!" she heard the guard's voice at the distance.
-Everything because of this. -Dora had the necklace in her hands. "Allies" Allies" "Where can I find allies?" Dora was thinking while flying away as fast as she could "wait! Danny! Danny the ghost boy! He's an ally!" Dora realized and directed to the portal that would lead her to the human world.
-GIRL! GIVE ME THAT NECKLACE AND I MAY LET YOU GO UNHARMED! -She heard a voice behind her and she just sped up. -As you wish! FIRE! -They shot at her and hit her, making her let go of the necklace in her right hand, she tried to go for it, but it went through a portal that shut itself a little after that.
-NNNOOOOO! -Dora yelled but another shot made something explode close to her and sent her flying away, through another portal. Her vision was blur, but she saw that there were people around her. -Please… Help! -She managed to say and lost consciousness.
Danny was overwhelmed for what she saw, she released Dora's hand, "What was that?!" she wondered, "A new power?", "Now I can see people's memories?!"
-Danny? -She heard Maddie's voice upstairs.
-Yes mom? -
-I'm sorry honey, I know you're worried about your ghost friend, but if you don't hurry, you'll be late for school. -
-Yes mom, I'm sorry, I'm coming. – Danny said looking at Dora's sleeping form one last time and she went upstairs.

On their way to school, Danny and her friends took Dani and Mabel to their school, when they got close to the entrance, they saw a boy with his backpack standing there, reading a letter.
-Dipper! -Mabel exclaimed and ran to him. The boy looked up and smiled at his sister.
-Hey Mabel! How was your sleepover? -He asked.
-Pretty cool! This is my new friend Dani. -Mabel introduced.
Dipper walked to her with his hand open. -Nice to meet you Dani, I'm Mason Pines, but everyone calls me Dipper. -
For an unknown reason to her, Dani felt her cheeks hot and paralyzed in front of the boy.
-Ahm… Ah… Oh… I… I'm… I… am… Ehm… -She mumbled a little.
Danny snickered when she noticed what was going on and helped her.
-Shake his hand Dani, don't be rude. -She told her and pushed her a little.
Dani gave a little step in front, and took the boy's hand enthusiastically, maybe too enthusiastically.
-HI! I'M DANI FENTON! NICE TO MEET YOU! -She greeted him.
-Hehe! -Dipper seemed a little uncomfortable. -Nice to meet you too Dani. I'm sorry you had to deal with my sister a whole night. -He tried to lighten the mood.

Said girl nodded lightly and looked at him, smiling. -Let's go. At lunch you can tell me why you and your sister have the same name. -He started to walk, followed by his sister and Dani.
-Hey Dipper, who taught you to be so suave? -Mabel asked him while walking.

-Yeah, and some of gruncle Stan's advises are useful too. -He said and then the three kids went to the building, Dani took a moment to wave bye to Danny, who returned the gesture. Then the three teenagers left for their own school.

They were beyond anger, but Danny seemed completely calm, she was eating her salad peacefully, looking at her friends and boyfriend, when they noticed how calm she was they gave her weird looks.

Danny looked straight at his eyes and saw the fear in them, the pleading and the remorse, she understood that he was telling the truth, wiped the tears from her own eyes, hugged him and kissed him on the lips again.
-I trust you. -She whispered on his ear and Dash released a breath he didn't know he was holding, hugging her back and thanking god for her trust.
-I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to cause this, I was just curious. -Sam apologized to them.
-It's ok Sam, don't worry, just a misunderstanding. -Dash said while hugging Danny, but he looked upset at her. -But I can tell you that the person that told me also wants to be our friend but has a lot of fear of Paulina, that's why he made me swear to not tell anyone who he is, at least for now. -
-So, we will keep going with our plan to stop Paulina, right? -Tucker asked.
-Yes, we are. -Danny said finally, she broke the hug, but still held Dash's hand in hers. -But first I need to call someone for help. -Danny said, taking her phone.
-Who are you calling? -Sam asked.
-You'll see at the time comes. -She answered and dialed a phone number.

The Fenton were having Dinner, and as it was usual for them, they were talking about their day, it was Dani's turn, and she was very excited.
-…And then, Dipper told me about how he managed to save his sister from that other boy that was obsessed with her, he fought him inside a giant robot that resembled this crazy kid and they fell off the cliff and Mabel used her grappling hook to save them both from falling, it was awesome! -She finished and all of them smiled at her.
-Well, it seems you really like Mabel's brother sweetie. -Maddie said giggling, and Dani blushed hard.
-WHAT?! NO! -Dani tried to cover her blush. -I just think he's cool. -
-So, he's cool, but Mabel isn't? -Danny teased her and Dani blushed even more.

-Hahaha! Don't be embarrassed sweetie, we're just messing with you. -Danny said ruffling the girl's hair. -I'm really glad you got new friends. -Danny smiled at her, and didn't tease her anymore, the girl smiled too.
-Do you like this boy Dani? -Jack asked her, making the girl blush again. Maddie nudged him. -What? -He asked dumbfounded.
-I… I really don't know. -Dani answered. -I feel really strange when I'm close to him, and I can't think straight and… -
-You like him! -Jack stated as a matter of fact, Dani opened her eyes widely. -Yes sweetie, you like him, you have a crush on him. -Jack explained.
-Bu… But how? I barely know him. I just met him today. -Dani was confused.
-No one knows how does it work my dear. -Danny explained. -It's something that just happens. Something in him attracts you. There's something in him that you find attractive, maybe it's his attitude, his face, his voice, it can be anything, and maybe you will never know what it is, but you certainly have a crush on him. -Dani looked at her mother's eyes.

-HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND! -Dani yelled almost immediately, with a red tomato face, making everyone else laugh.

-But what if he doesn't feel the same way about me? What if he has a crush on someone else? What am I gonna do then? -Dani asked her.
-Well, that's certainly a possibility. The girl nodded at her and threw herself into her arms. Danny received her gladly.

-It's about princess Dora, the ghost in the lab. -

-Well, I went to her in the morning, before school and… -Danny told her what happened in the morning when she took Dora's hand in hers.
-What do you think mom? Is this a new power? -Danny asked her.
-Well Danny, no one can be sure of that but you, Vlad and Dani, you're the only people half ghost, half human, but you said this is the first time something like this happens to you, it didn't happened when you were a boy, it just started now that you're a girl. -Maddie tried to explain.
-What do you mean? -Danny asked her.
-Women are a lot more empathetic than men would ever be Danny, maybe this is a new power that just a woman could develop, maybe it's just part of your nature as a woman, or maybe this happened now because you didn't tried it before and it's something that you always had but didn't know you had it, or maybe it was your ghost friend, she did it to show you what happened to her and you have nothing to do with it. -Maddie was serious and comforting at the same time.
-Yeah! I didn't think of that before, what if it was Dora's doing? -Danny giggled. -I was so confused for this. Thanks mom, I feel relieved. How do you do it? -
